Application of combined stents implantation in patients with malignant tracheal,esophageal,and superior vena cava stenosis

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of combined stents implantation in patients with malignant tracheal,esophageal,and superior vena cava stenosis.Methods Four patients with malignant tracheal,esophageal,and superior vena cava stenosis,male 3,female 1,aged 50-77 years,mean age 67 years,were clearly diagnosed with imaging examination.Stents were indwelled under digital subtraction angiography.According to the main symptoms,2 cases were implanted tracheal stents firstly and then esophageal stents,1 tracheal stent firstly and then superior vena cava stent,and 1 superior vena cava stent firstly and then tracheal stent.Results All stents were implanted successfully in all patients,including 4 tracheal stents(1 inverted Y-shaped stent) ,2 esophageal stents,and 3 superior vena cava stents.The main symptoms were immediately relieved after the stents implantation.The saturation of pulse oxygen saturation elevated from 70%-80% during high flow oxygen inhalation to 90%-95% during natural respiration.Conclusion Combined stents implantation is a simple,safe,and rapidly effective way in treating malignant tracheal,esophageal,and superior vena cava stenosis,and could improve patients’living quality.
