Analysis on 522 cases of antibacterial-related adverse drug reaction/event reports

Abstract:Objective To learn the the characteristics and rules in the adverse drug reactions/events(ADR/ADE) for clinical safe,effective and rational use of antimicrobials by analysis of 522 antibacterial-related ADR/ADE Reports.Methods 522 antibacterial-related ADR/ADE Reports were statistical analyzed from Jan 1st,2005 to Dec 31st,2010 in our hospital.The condition of patients,clinical manifestations of adverse reaction,route of administration,types of antibacterials and assessment were analyzed.Results Among the five hundred and twenty-two cases of antibacterial-related ADR/ADE,females were slightly more than males;children between 0-14 years old age accounted for 20.31%(106/522);patients between 50 to 86 years old age accounted for 54.03%(282/522).The cases that caused by cephalosporins ranked the first place(239 cases,45.79%),followed by the quinolones(121 cases,23.18%).468 cases that administered intravenously were accounted for the majority(89.66%).The most three vulnerable system/organ were skin and its appendages(129 cases,24.72%),digestive system(108 cases,20.69%),and respiratory system(97 cases,18.59%).Conclusion Strengthening antibacterial agents ADR/ADE monitoring,to decrease the occurrence of Serious ADR /ADE and ensure clinical safety,effective,rational use of drug.
