Participation of Clinical Pharmacists into the Treatment for Severe Community-acquired Pneumonia Patients with Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the entry points of provision of pharmaceutical care by clinical pharmacists for severe community-acquired pneumonia patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.METHODS: The clinical pharmacists went into the clinic,participated into the whole treatment process for severe community-acquired pneumonia patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and provided pharmaceutical care.RESULTS: According to patient's kidney function,pathogenic bacteria culture results and treatment conditions,the clinical pharmacists assisted the clinicians selected and adjusted anti-infection drug treatment.After active anti-infection,hemofiltration and symptomatic treatment,patient's infection symptoms had been improved and organs recovered basically.CONCLUSIONS: It is essential for severe community-acquired pneumonia patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome to adjust administration dose by liver and kidney function.The clinical pharmacists participate into the clinical treatment and provide pharmaceutical care can improve the efficacy and reduce the adverse drug reactions.
