Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of collective anti-cancer form on psychological state and life quality in cancer rehabilitation patients. Methods A total of 124 patients were randomly selected from Nanjing Cancer Rehabilitation Association from September to October 2015. According to the time of joining the association, the patients were divided into two groups. Among them, those who joined the association for 6-36 months were classified as group 1 (61 cases)of the collective anticancer, and those who joined the association for > 36 months were enrolled as group 2 (63 patients). In addition,71 scattered cases collected from communities and medical units in Nanjing area during the same period were selected as control group. The control group did not accept any intervention measures. Group 1 and group 2 of collective anti-cancer received collective activities targeting cancer rehabilitation for 1-3 times/ week. The effect was measured using a cross-sectional scale, including self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS),meaning-in-life questionnaire in Chinese (C-MLQ),and tumor quality of life questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30),etc. Results There were statistically significant differences in the scores of SAS and SDS among the 3 groups (F = 6. 88,P = 0. 001;F = 3. 37,P = 0. 037);among them, scores of group 1 and group 2 were both lower than that of the control group (P < 0. 05). There were no statistically significant differences in the scores of life meaning experience factor and life meaning seeking factor among the 3 groups (P > 0. 05). There were statistically significant differences in the appetite domain among 3 groups (P < 0. 05);among them, scores of group 1 and group 2 were both lower than that of the control group (P < 0. 05). Conclusion Collective anti-cancer form can help patients adjust psychological state and improve life quality.
