SPACE TECHNIQUE INDUCED ELITE ABIOTIC STRESS TOLERANT YELLOW TALL FESCUE

Abstract:The cool season turfgrass Yellow Tall Fescue was treated by space technique. The results showed that space technique had slight physiological damage in SP 1 generation, and no chlorophyll deficient mutation was detected at the SP 2 generation, however richer variations in plant morphology, leaf shape, the growth duration and hot temperature tolerance were observed in the study. The semidwarf, creeping plant type, slender leaf, late maturing, and hot temperature tolerant mutants were isolated from the Yellow Tall Fescue.
