The Relation Between Hybrid and Parents of Betula Platyphylla

Abstract:According to NCII Model, the combining ability and herilability of Belula platyphylla seeds'characteristics were cal culated and analyzed including width with wing, width without wing, seeds thousand -grain weight, germination percent age, germination potential and fruit weight which come from the hybridization between 3 females and 5 males. The result shows that the seeds from different hybrid combination have obvious variance. These variances mainly depend upon the parents' general and specific combining ability. The good hybrid combination of width with wing is M3 x BH1 and M3 x Ml , width without wing is M4 x BHIand M3 x LS, seeds thousand - grain weight is M4 x M2 and M4 x BH1 , germination percentage is M4 x BH1 and M4 x M2, germination potential is M4 x BH1 and M4 x M2, and fruit weight is M4 x M2 and M4 x BH1 , which indicates that the hybrid whose female parent is M4 is better than others, and female parent' s combi ning ability and heritability are higher.
