Bionomics and Control of Diaphania Perspectalis

Abstract:Diaphania perspectalis has 1-5 generations annually in Lishui,Zhejiang province,overwinted by 3-4 instars larva of the each generation at shoot.It takes activities by the end of March and damages seriously from May to September.Spraying 25% chlorbenzuron III or 1.8% 1 000-fold of abamectin from the end of March to early April,the critical period of control,could decrease the damage of the later generations.Pruning was an effective measure during egg or larva period.But too much pruning will sprout too many young leaves for larva,so that endanger more seriously Buxus sinica.There are many species of natural enemy of D.perspectalis,especially in October.It is important for protecting natural enemies and reasonable using insecticide to control of D.perspectalis.
