Construction of the Garden Landscape with Five-sense Experience in the View of Health Recovery Environment

Abstract:Based on the fact that people begin to concern with the health recovery landscape in garden environment,this paper explored the relevance between five-sense experience and human health.The feasibility to scientifically create a healthy environment with courtyard landscapes in the sense of aesthetic ecology was discussed.The application of five-sense concept to the design of "Lanhai Ecological Park" demonstrated that garden landscapes functioned as a combination of all five senses rather than the visual sense alone to provide visual pleasure.Because human thoughts and behavior patterns were unattainable via fixed formula,the fundamental aim of landscape design was to satisfy visual experience,followed by coordinating four other senses to enable people's comprehensive experience and to achieve diversified landscape views.
