Abstract:In the traditional urban landscape design, visual sense is regarded as absolutely important while consideration of acoustic environment is inadequate. In order to promote a new viewpoint for urban landscape design and to enrich the design methods, the concept of soundscape was introduced. Combining sound components with landscape design leads to the concept of soundscape and its features. The type and features of soundscape, and its relation with human perception was observed and analyzed in a survey of city parks . The explanation of the factors, stages and levels of soundscape design built up the soundscape design framework. Soundscape plays an important role in urban landscape. Natural, background, man-made and activity sounds provide meaningful information for human landscape cognition. They enrich and complement human cognitive methods and subjective experience of objective environment. With plastic arts and building technology, soundscape design comprehensively meets the functional needs of human activities, advances the relationship between human being and environment, and promotes the humanity of the objective environment.

Abstract:This paper examines the value and application of five senses design theory in interaction design. Through the analysis of human sensory experience, we know that at present, designers have focused on the emotional aspects of product design, while problems such as lack of innovation and poor performance of product interaction still exist. Mainly manifested on the one hand, lack of sensory mobilization, many designs only focus on visual performance, while ignoring other sensory experience. On the other hand, some designers have noticed the importance of five senses in interaction design, but many of them are still in simple interaction stage, cannot trigger people’s deep emotional memory.Based on those problems, a method to score the designs by creating a Five Senses Map were proposed together with constructing five senses information chart system and methods for design improvement on emotional interaction for product design.The experience of five senses is also one of the standards for assessing whether it is a good design. The results showed that the higher the score of Five Senses Map, the better the users’ experience will be. Using the method of drawing Five Senses Map in interaction design can awaken users’ emotional memory and simplify the process of interaction design, also provide users a more pleasant experience.

Abstract:Based on the fact that people begin to concern with the health recovery landscape in garden environment,this paper explored the relevance between five-sense experience and human health.The feasibility to scientifically create a healthy environment with courtyard landscapes in the sense of aesthetic ecology was discussed.The application of five-sense concept to the design of "Lanhai Ecological Park" demonstrated that garden landscapes functioned as a combination of all five senses rather than the visual sense alone to provide visual pleasure.Because human thoughts and behavior patterns were unattainable via fixed formula,the fundamental aim of landscape design was to satisfy visual experience,followed by coordinating four other senses to enable people's comprehensive experience and to achieve diversified landscape views.

Abstract:This article takes landscape space sequence as subject. Proceed from visual perception and walking environment, it talks about the relationship of objective space and people's subjective perception. Space, time and perception become three important points in the research of landscape space sequence. This article explores multi-level problems about the organization of landscape space sequence in three levels, which are space organization, time organization and conception organization, and then provides some guides and advice for landscape plan and design with the mathematical analysis and case study method.

Abstract:Through an objective and deep-going analysis of the essence of the theory of Yin-Yang and five elements,we find some concepts in it which can be used to guide landscape design.In this paper we illustrate how to combine Yin-Yang theory with landscape design,how to connect five-element theory,Chinese medicine and medicinal plants,and even how to utilize it in landscape design.As a case study,the design for the reconstruction of the core landscape of Chongqing Academy of Chinese Materia Medica is analyzed and discussed.The design has mixed the features of the Academy of Chinese Materia Medica with Yin-Yang and five-element theory,and achieved good results.

Abstract:With the changing times, the modern packaging is not restricted the production, but values the aesthetic values. In the experience economy, the consumer experience becomes more and more popular and the packaging design of products is associated to the consumer psychology indirectly. This article firstly explores the origin of “five senses” and the influence of “five senses” on the purchase intention of the consumers through the research of historical documents. Then, it discusses the different application characteristics and roles of “five-sense” experience in the packaging design of products. On this basis, this paper discusses the theories for better application of “five-sense” experience in the packaging design of products, and conducts the analysis through the cases. This paper studies the characteristics and methods of visual, auditory, tactile, gustatory and olfactory applications in the packaging design through function analysis of “five senses” in the product packaging.

Abstract:The human eye is visually attracted to the landscape space. With the aid of the physiological structure and the research achievements of computer visual attention mechanism, the concept of visual attraction mechanism was put forward. Based on the landscape visual ornamental characteristics and the case comparisons, four attractive elements were identified: space scale and distance, entity scene, color, and synthesizing. Analysis of effects of four different combinations between them on attraction found that different combinations of the elements raised different landscape space experiences. As the basic theoretical study in the landscape architecture discipline, the purpose of this research was to inquire and reveal landscape architecture perception intrinsic motivation and extrinsic effects of basic law from the basic aspects of human physiological and psychological cognition, as the foundation for the studies of landscape architecture aesthetics.

Abstract:Landscape design ignores human being self-awareness showing, which make humans constantly in a dominant position at presence. From the standpoint of creative subject which has aesthetic experience and behavior, this paper draws on the theoretical approaches of narratology in other areas. By the interpretation for the outstanding works on contemporary landscape, it re-examines the significance of the contemporary landscape. From the view of users , it explores the landscape spatial order of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and the landscape implication expression of spatial cues for narrative plot. At the same time, research on landscape narrative having more humanistic and regional shapes and perfects the spirit of place, and improves artistic appeal of landscape design works.

Architects need to look into how a space interacts with its end user. Architecture is the journey and not just the destination. It’s a whole package of experiencing a space and it’s not just about the architect. In the process of thinking and perception of architecture there is always more importance given to visual senses than the other senses and the problems of contemporary architecture is rooted in visual dominance and may be the result of unbalanced senses system. All our information about our surrounding world is achieved by our senses and this information help us in perception and recognition. A building should bring into perspective all the five senses, thereby giving a threedimensional angle to the structure.
