Studies on purification and decolorization process for rhEGF as cosmetic ingredient by ion exchange chromatography

Abstract:A purification and decolorization process by ion exchange chromatography was developed to refine rhEGF as cosmetic ingredient.D314 was selected as decolorization resin.The purification process was carried out under the conditions as follows: The flow rate was 150.0 mL/h,the sample volume injected was 80.0 mL and the bed height was 10.0 cm.The decolorization process was carried out under the conditions as follows: The flow rate was 60.0 mL/h,pH=5.0 and the bed height was 7.5 cm.The overall recovery yield was higher than 53%.The purity of the final product was more than 32%,which turned out to be white or light yellowish to the satisfaction of the cosmetic standard.
