Abstract:The support vector machine (SVM) is a new pattern recognition technology based on the statistical learning theory. The research situation in the text categorization is introduced. Abstract:This article presents a new method of plant classification of iris based on the support vector machine classification principle.The support vector machine is one new general learning method,which proposed in the statistical Learning Theory,mainly applied in the data classification and regression estimate,meanwhile the main basis in plant classification is plant's outward characteristic.The result of experiment can be made by apply the algorithm of SVM and withdraws the characteristic data of the plant.The result in this experiment indicates that it is feasible to apply the support vector machine to classify the plant.

Abstract:Based on the text information processing, we have made a study on the application of support vector machine in text categorization. Through introducing the basic principle of SVM, we described the process of text classification and further proposed a SVM-based classification model. Finally, experimental data show that F1 value of SVM classifier has reached more than 86.26%, and the classification results comparing to other classification methods have greatly improved, and it also proves that SVM is an effective machine learning method.

Abstract:Support vector machine (SVM) has been successfully applied to text categorization. We find that the decision hyperplane of SVM classifier can also be used for feature selection. When linear kernel is used, the decision rule can be seen as a combination of weighted values of each dimension of the vector to be categorized, each weight indicating the importance of corresponding dimension in the categorization decision. Hence we can only preserve those dimensions with bigger weights. In this way we combine the feature selection into the learning process of SVM training. Empirical experiment result is given to verify our new method.

Abstract:This paper has put forward a new method to improve the performance of text categorization. The new method combines HMM (Hidden Markov Model) and SVM (Support Vector Machines). HMMs are used to as a feature extractor and then a new feature vector is normalized as the input of SVMs, so the trained SVMs can classify unknown texts successfully. The experimental results prove that the method is more effective and high classification accuracy.

Abstract:Traditional supervised classification method such as support vector machine (SVM) could achieve high performance in text categorization. However, we should first hand-labeled the samples before classifying. Its a time-consuming task. Unsupervised method such as k-means could also be used for handling the text categorization problem. However, Traditional k-means could easily be affected by several isolated observations. In this paper, we proposed a new text categorization method. First we improved the traditional k-means clustering algorithm. The improved k-means is used for clustering vectors in our vector space model. After that, we use the SVM to categorize vectors which are preprocessed by improved k-means. The experiments show that our algorithm could out-perform the traditional SVM text categorization method.

Abstract:Automatic text classifying is an import application of the information processing technology. This paper introduces the key techniques of Chinese text categorization such as text preprocessing, feature selection, feature representation, training and classifying algorithm, especially analyses the current most important several feature selection methods with emphasis. A Chinese text classifier based on KNN algorithm was developed. The system can preferably implement Chinese automatic text categorization and has a higher quality. We also use this classifier to compare several feature selection methods. In the end, we utilize the experiment results to prove the importance role of feature selection in text categorization.

In particular, they exhibit good generalization performance on many real issues and the approach is properly motivated theoretically. There are relatively a few free parameters to adjust and the architecture of the learning machine does not need to be found by experimentation. In this paper, survey of the key contents on this subject, focusing on the most well-known models based on kernel substitution, namely SVM, as well as the activated fields at present and the development tendency, is presented.

Abstract:Text Categorization is the first step to gain information from textual data,existing methods are mainly based on statistical method or machine learning,such as Bayes,KNN,SVM,Neural Network,which have proved to be accurate and stable in experiments for categorizing English texts.However,Chinese text categorization is much more difficult because there is no space between words,and word segmentation has always been used to solve this problem.This paper delivers a method using string kernel in support vector machine without word segmentation and the experiment reports a good result.

Abstract:A new method to extend binary support vector machines to applications of multi-class text categorization is proposed.The method can be used in both batch and incremental mode.The batch mode offers an alternative to popular multi-class SVM methods.And the incremental mode,which is on the basis of the old models with the knowledge of a new class adding to the system,can update the classifier and doesn't need the relearning of the whole categorization system.Experiments show that the incremental mode dramatically reduces the training time and both modes have an effectiveness competing to all other methods mentioned.

Abstract:A text categorization model based on Latent Semantic Analysis and Hyper-sphere Support Vector Machine (HS-SVM) is proposed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of text categorization. As the convergence rate of using SVM to categorize the large-scale text is relatively slow,the Hyper-sphere Support Vector Machine is applied to text categorization and the Hyper-sphere Support Vector Machine Classification Learning Algorithm based on incremental learning is applied to training and categorization. Experiments show that the Hyper-sphere Support Vector Machine is an efficient solution to the SVM problem,and has the same accuracy as the SVM in the text categorization applications,but significantly reduces the complexity of the model and the training time.

Abstract:Web page classification is an important research direction for web mining. This paper gives some methods for representation of web page, studies on several aspects of support vector machine (SVM) for structural risk minimization concepts of statistical learning theory. The web page classifier and algorithm based on SVM is proposed. Cross validation method is used to select parameters of SVM classifier. The experimental results show that SVM provides an effective method for web page categorization and has promising application in web mining.

Abstract:Support Vector Machine is a powerful tool for non-linear high-dimensional classification problem such as text categorization. Parameters include balance parameter C and kernel function parameter σ play important roles in Support Vector Machine. However, classic method which selects parameters manually will restrict the improvement of classifying performance when using Support Vector Machine. This article proposes an exponent weighted algorithm to overcome local optimization and low convergence rate problems in Ant Colony Optimization. The novel Ant Colony Optimization algorithm is implemented and be used to optimizing parameters of Support Vector Machine in a Chinese text categorization system. The experimental results reveal this method has a higher precision and efficiency than traditional Support Vector Machine based Text categorization systems.
