Abstract:A series of end notched flexure (ENF) tests for foam core composite sandwich structures before and after hygrothermal ageing were done to investigate the effects of hygrothermal ageing on the modeⅡ interfacial delamination .The compressive strength and modulus of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) laminates and polyurethane foams before and after hydrothermal aging were tested .Results show that the compressive strength and modulus of GFRP laminates increase initially followed by a significant decrease due to the effect of post-curing . In addition , the compressive strength and modulus of polyurethane foam decline sharply and then tend to be stable .In the meantime ,the critical energy release rate of the mode Ⅱ interfacial delamination with different aging time shows a downward trend .The critical strain energy release rate (Gc) declines by 26.68% after hygrothermal ageing of 90 days .
