Abstract:Papermaking principle and engineering is the core curriculum of light chemistry engineering.Traditional teaching focuses on the theory taught,and contacts unenough with engineering,which can't meet the needs of the modern paper-making enterprises.Teacher-led,student body as the core,we should contact closly with both the actual living and construction site and reform the curriculum in teaching methods and content,to achieve a seamless integration between the theory and engineering.By the teaching reform,we can cuttivate draining the students' engineering awareness,develop their initiative ability,and stimulate their interest in learning,strengthen their ability to adapt to the actual work and solve engineering issues,achieve the position zero distance,and be in line with high-level application-oriented personnel training needs.

Abstract:"Soil Mechanics" is a degree course in Zhejiang University City College of Civil Engineering. The teaching group of this course has thought and practiced the reforms in teacher-student interaction, attendance innovation, materials selection, layout of the homework and the form of practice teaching. Simplifying the derivation of calculation formulas and strengthening the experiment and practice which can develop the students' manipulative ability and innovative spirit. Interacting with students which can make them learn more about the teacher and this course. At the same time, teachers can understand better about the students' thinking, then adapt and improve each other. The reform of teaching material selection and arrangement of work which make students have more examples to refer. The free choice in after-school subject which allow students to sum up the knowledge points and that would enable the consolidation of classroom teaching. At the same time, by consulting reference books, students will find the knowledge points which the teacher did not emphasized.

Abstract:Engineering Drawing is a basic course of mechanical specialty, and it is a link to follow-up specialty courses. In order to improve the quality of classroom teaching, project-based teaching reform is implemented in 10 projects based on curriculum objectives and job requirements. Abstract:Tunnel engineering is the core course in civil engineering.Based on the characteristics and teaching purposes of tunnel engineering course, the existing problems in traditional education were analyzed.On the basis of CDIO engineering education concept, thoughts of tunnel engineering teaching reform are presented, specific measures for teaching reform are put forward as well.Through the CDIO teaching reform, the goal of teaching ability is highlighted, the teaching contents are updated, the ability of independent, teamwork and communication for students are improved by the CDIO course project.It is proved that the quality of teaching has achieved good results.The teaching reform of tunnel engineering can provide good guide and reference for education reform and practice of civil engineering.

Abstract:The implementation of "excellence plan" promotes our country to become a powerful country in engineering education and promotes higher education to cultivate a large number of high-quality engineering, technical personnel with strong innovation ability and adapt to the needs of economic and social development, however the traditional teaching methods no longer meet the needs of training high-quality engineers. This article will research study and discipline teaching organically fuses in together. Firstly the teachers should improve their academic and teaching ability, and accumulate enterprise engineering practice experience, reform the teaching methods, in order to cause the students to independently discover problems, explore the problem and get conclusion under teacher's guidance, cultivating their engineering practice ability and innovation ability. The exploration of teaching reform has been carried out through the course "Operation and Maintenance of Overhead Transmission Lines", which has achieved good results and will be continuously improved.

Abstract:In view of the scattered experimental projects in practical courses of civil engineering materials, the poor practical ability of students and the disconnection between practical teaching and theoretical teaching, this paper proposes a practical teaching procedure. Firstly, the single experiment should be offered which emphasizes on improving the students' basic experimental operating ability. Secondly, the compressive experiment is offered and the overall quality of students can be examined in the form of project team. In order to investigate the effect of teaching reform, the comparative analysis of the students of three grades (2014, 2015 and 2016) majored in civil engineering was conducted. The result shows that the students' ability of experimental operation is obviously improved by using the project driven method-based teaching reform. Besides, the students' ability to analyse and solve problems has also been improved.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to discuss the basic theoretical issues on disciplinary development of land science, and to promote its maturity and improvement. Comparative research method and theoretical analysis method are employed in this paper. The results show that the maturity of land science is still quite low due to the lack of theoretical system and disciplinary paradigm with inherent consistency, the increase of research fields but the decrease of research depth, and the emphasis on application projects but the ignorance on academic study. Excessive broad research contents have impacted the development of land science. The path and experience of water conservancy science around the engineering categories to promote discipline construction and the development is worth learning and using for reference. The conclusion of the paper is that as the logic origin of land science, land use conforms to the four regulations. The name of the discipline can be land science and engineering, the core contents are formation and evolution, structure and function, utilization and control, reclamation and construction, and their relations that can be expressed with a simple 4-corner cone model. Land science and engineering can be divided into four secondary discipline including land science, land consolidation and rehabilitation engineering, land survey and control engineering, land use and planning. The methodologies of land science and engineering should be a combination of spatial research, conjugate analysis, traceable study and positivism. The theoretical framework of this discipline can be built up based on three aspects including land structure and function, land evolution and control, land carrying capacity and sustainability.

Abstract:The course of "Environmental Planning and Management" has been reformed and explored in terms of the preparation of course teaching programme and the implementation of teaching methodology, and Civic Education has been carried out throughout the whole process of teaching. Through the Civic Education of professional courses, students are guided to set up a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, and to have the spirit of commitment to be the strivers of the new era. At the same time, we pay attention to the cultivation and inheritance of "craftsmanship" to achieve the goal of cultivating high-quality "moral and talent" application-oriented talents. This study provides reference for the cultivation of "new engineering" talents in polytechnic colleges and universities, and explores effective ways for the teaching reform of integrating "Civics of Courses" in the teaching of polytechnic professional courses according to the characteristics of Civics of Courses.

Abstract:As engineering surveying is highly concerned with its intensive involvement in the construction of roads and bridges, drainage systems, buildings, railways, and tunnels in civil engineering, the subject of engineering surveying is being offered by the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics to all undergraduate students who are taking the Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree Program in the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Under the new outcome-based curriculum and work-integrated education requirements, the curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment for the subject are described here by answering the questions of “what are the goals and objectives of the curriculum,” “what should students learn,” and “how should it be learned, taught, and assessed.”

Abstract:By analyzing the current situation and deficiencies of the teaching of concrete structure design courses, summarizing teaching experience, and combining with the characteristics of our university's "applied" talent training, this study explores the teaching reform of concrete structure design courses for the 2021 level civil engineering majors. The exploration primarily focuses on optimizing teaching content, improving teaching methods, strengthening practical components, and diversifying assessment methods. Practice has shown that this approach has a demonstrative effect on undergraduate teaching in civil engineering at our university.
