Abstract:A fuzzy PID control method was presented which controls the pneumatic actuator servo position system using high-speed switching valves.The results indicate that the control method has good control capability and can increase response speed and restrain the overshoot,and the system has good dynamic and static performance.

Abstract:In order to meet the high-precision request of plastic products,reduce costs and energy lost of the injection molding machine,this paper studied injection molding system of closed-loop control system controlled by a servo proportional valve,established the nonlinear model considering the valve flow-pressure nonlinear,injection cylinder volume changing and the polymer melting flow characteristics,provided fuzzy PID control method fitting the system.With the Matlab/Simulink platform,established a simulate model.The result proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the closed-loop control system and control method,compared to the conventional PID control,this control strategy significantly reduced the static error of the system,greatly improved the tracking results of the injection speed,and effectively helped to improve products' repeat precision.

Abstract:In order to resolve the problem that a PID controller performance may decrease when the operating conditions changes if the system condition changes.This paper presents a special performance evaluation for the PID controller,optimization and control approach,namely:PID loop evaluation and optimization algorithms.The algorithm uses the system closed-loop input and output data,assesses PID controller performance according to MVC(minimum variance control)benchmark,finds the optimized PID parameters for the time-varying systems at the base of MVC;the assessment process The results with the real system output variance to compare PID parameters on-line optimization as a basis for judgments,when the actual system performance below a.certain standard time of the controller optimization.The assessment process will take the new output variance to compare with the real system output variance,the result become the basis for judgments.When the actual system performance below a certain standard,the algorithms will change the PID parameters as a optimization process.At the whole algorithm,the monitoring of input and output data lasting in the whole process become a monitoring for the PID control system.Simulation results show the validity of this method.In the context,if the system have a abrupt or gradual changing,the system can automatically evaluate and optimize the implementation to achieve stability after 1300 seconds.The cycle of evaluation and optimization algorithm for realistic performance can assess and monitor the system at the same time.with certain conditions,with a certain standard this algorithm can optimize the PID parameters and ultimately make the system have the selfmonitoring and selfassessment capacity.

Abstract:Being aimed at the asymmetric pneumatic cylinder, a new type of pneumatic drive circuit is designed. The generalized pulse code modulation (GPCM) pneumatic control system is used for improving performances of the system. In addition, in stead of establishing a nonlinear mathematical model of pneumatic GPCM servo system, system identification by the recursive least square method is applied to find its mathematical model, then a self-tuning controller with the pole-placement approach is designed. In the end, experiments are run in detail. The results show that the GPCM pneumatic servo system is better than the PCM, the self-tuning controller is better than the conventional PID and they are effective in achieving a desired positioning and following accuracy.

Abstract:The mathematic model of the pressure reduction by expander in high pressure pneumatic system was created.The digital simulation model of the PID-PWM control system was obtained by Simulink in MATLAB,the experiment and simulation of the PID-PWM control system was performed.The results show that the mathematic model and simulation model are correct,and the PID control can be used in pneumatic pressure control system to some extent.

Abstract:The high-accuracy trajectory tracking pneumatic position servo system proposed in this paper mainly consists of a cylinder which is controlled by a proportional directional control value. Due to there exist large extent of parametric uncertainties and severe uncertain nonlinearities in the pneumatic system, an adaptive robust control strategy was constructed, which employs on-line recursive least squares estimation to reduce the extent of parametric uncertainties, and utilizes the sliding mode control method to attenuate the effects of parameter estimation errors, unmodeled dynamics and disturbances. Since the system model uncertainties are unmatched, the recursive backstepping design technology was applied. After the control strategy validated on dSPACE control system, was transplanted into DSP controller. Experimental results were presented to illustrate the excellent achievable performance of the controller.

Abstract:Median control input,dead volume and leakage flow rate were identified for obtaining precise model parameters of pneumatic servo system. According to the physical phenomenon that the stable pressure values of port A and port B under the same control voltage would be different,the median control input of proportional directional valve could be obtained through minimizing the offset value of two stable pressure ratio curves. According to the physical phenomenon that the pressure responses of port A would be different but the stable pressure values of port A are identical when the pneumatic cylinder is fixed at two ends,the dead volume of rodless pneumatic cylinder could be obtained through equal leakage mass flow rate when equalizing pressure. In order to describe the steep mass flow rate just before the valve port was open and eliminate the noncontinuity between the flow rate equations of leakage and valve orifice,the leakage flow rate was transformed into the leakage throttling area that was fitted by a rational expression. The experimental results indicated that the model uncertainties are reduced,the control accuracy of the adaptive robust controller is improved,and the control input is very smooth through the identification of characteristic parameters and structure parameters.

Abstract:This paper applies the simulated annealing algorithm for PID controllers to deal with those motion control systems having constant disturbance. The main goal is to eliminate the steady state error of the system and minimize the integral time absolute error (ITAE) performance index. Three PID controllers, the ordinary PID controller, the increment PID (IPID) controller and the integral separation PID (ISPID) controller are compared. The result shows different controllers fulfill different control requirements.

Abstract:With the emergence of the pneumatic-servo system, pneumatic system control is extended from logical control to servo control area, Due to the substantial nonlinearities of pneumatic-servo system which is mainly caused by air compressibility, valve deadzone and saturation, and cylinder friction, it has been used mainly for relatively simple tasks. Many researchers were engaged in pneumatic-servo system because of its simple in structure, high performance to cost, and easy to operate, but rather limited in "point-to-point" positioning control. This paper is focused on the continuous position tracking control of pneumatic-servo system. By analysis of inner pressure control system, outer motion control system, static and kinetic friction of cylinder, a friction observer of cylinder is designed. It is shown that the nonlinear mechanical friction causes a stick-slip response in system. At last, a 3-R pneumatic-servo calligraphy robot, which can write Chinese calligraphy, is developed. Three dimensional position, data are recorded to the computer by RS-232 port between Unis-pen device and computer. Computer deals with the recorded data and communicates with controller by another RS232 port at real time. The experiment demonstrates that the pneumatic-servo system has excellent tracking characteristics and can rival the expensive electro-servo system in many area of industry.

Abstract:An adaptive robust control scheme with valve dead-zone compensation was proposed for pneumatic position servo systems. The controller employed the on-line recursive least squares estimation to reduce parametric uncertainties, and utilized a robust control method to attenuate the effects of parameter estimation errors, unmodelled dynamics and disturbance. Thus, a good transient with precision motion trajectory tracking of pneumatic cylinders was guaranteed. The standard projection type adaption law was adopted to achieve a complete separation of the estimator design and the robust control law design. Since the system model uncertainties were unmatched, the recursive backstepping technology was applied to design the robust controller. Extensive comparative experimental results were presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller and its performance robustness to parameter variations and sudden disturbance.
Modeling of a pneumatic system for high-accuracy position control

Abstract:In this paper, a detailed model was developed for a rodless pneumatic cylinder controlled by a proportional directional control valve. The dynamic of the valve spool was firstly investigated and an equation was introduced to describe the mass flow through the valve's variable orifice. The thermodynamics in cylinder chambers was carefully considered and the heat transfer coefficient between the air in the chamber and the inside of the barrel was identified experimentally. In addition, the friction force of the pneumatic cylinder seals was described using the LuGre model, and several experiments were conducted to estimate the friction parameters. The proposed system model was validated by comparing experimental and simulated open loop step input responses, and can be used to develop a controller for high accuracy positioning.

Abstract:An embedded pneumatic servo DSP controller was designed in view of the deficiency of the existing embedded pneumatic servo controller software.The model of proportional direction valve controlled cylinder system was established, which adopted adaptive robust control strategy designed by back-stepping method.Online parameter estimation improved the tracking precision further in steady state.Control algorithm design and simulation was conducted in the tool of MATLAB/Simulink based on Model Based Design method.The controller software could be generated automatically and rapidly after series of model transformation, and was combined with DSP hardware driver and PC monitor.Control software experiments were conducted to verify the performance.Results showed that the pneumatic DSP servo controller trajectory tracking control error was within 5%, and the duration of control was up to 1 ms.

Abstract:This paper researches on the hydraulic servo system by using ordinary on-off valves. The mathematic model of an asymmetric hydraulic cylinder servo control system is built, and its characteristic is analysed here. To reduce the static and dynamic characteristic differences between forward and reverse motion of asymmetric cylinder, and improve system’s performance, a self-tuning linear quadratic gaussian optimum controller (SLQG) is designed successful. In the end, an asymmetric hydraulic cylinder servo system of paint robot is researched. The result shows that the above method is effective.

Abstract:Aerial work platform leveling system is a complicated nonlinear system working under very complex conditions and suffering from much interference.The integrated CMAC(Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) and PID(Proportion,Integral,and Derivative) control strategy based on disturbance observer and RC(Resistance Capacitance) low-pass filter was presented.For a certain 54m aerial work platform electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system,the AMESim(Advanced Modeling Environment for Performing Simulations of Engineering Systems) was taken as the main simulation environment;the controller model was imported into AMESim by software interfaces.Simulation results show that compared with the CMAC and traditional PID combined control method and PID control,the modified combined controller has better adaptability and higher robustness for mathematic model change or system load disturbance.In addition,the controller can well track the given signal at any phase.

Abstract:A parallel link servo platform driven by pneumatic artificial muscles is proposed for controlling the position of the platform to get rid of the disadvantages of traditional platform driven by hydraulic or electric units. The mathematical model of the controlled platform was achieved and simulated through kinematic and dynamic analysis of the platform and the nonlinear relations of the internal pressure, contractive force and contraction ratio of the pneumatic artificial muscles. The calculation results show that the platform with two rotation degrees of freedom can be realized by controlling the internal pressure of the pneumatic artificial muscles, and the movement of the system is smooth. Under the same conditions of controlling voltages and initial positions, the influences of the inertia loads and moment loads on the response speed and stable position of the platform are analyzed. The obtained model and simulation results provide the theoretical foundation for precisely controlling pneumatic artificial muscle system.

Abstract:This paper reports results of research on the stability of a hydraulic servo position system using generalization pulse code modulation (GPCM) and common on/off valves for hydraulic servo control. The describing function was first used to analyze the system's stability, and based on the nonlinear theory, an equation calculating the minimum orifice area of GPCM valves was derived by applying results of analysis on the stability of the GPCM control system. In the end, aimed at developing a hydraulic servo position system to be used in a paint robot, simulation and experiment were carried out. The results show that the theoretical conclusions accorded with practical results.

Abstract:Particle swarm optimization(PSO), whose advantage is easy to implement, as an evolution algorithm, can search for optima quickly in multidimensional solution space. Based on PSO and classical PID controlling theory, an PSO-PID controller, using weighted error function as fitness function, is developed. The PSO-PID controller can search the optimal controller parameters on-line. The good performance of PSO-PID is verified by the application of hydraulic edger screwdown system in Baosteel 2050 rough mill. The results show that the PSO-PID controller achieves better performance than the classic one, especially, in the circumstance of working condition variation.

Abstract:Due to the uncertainties caused by high non‐linearity, friction, leakage and other external factors existing in the flight simulator with continuous rotary electro‐hydraulic servo motor and the traditional control strategies discontenting with the high‐performance requirements, the mathematical model of continuous rotary electro‐hydraulic position servo system is established and the compound control theory combining proportional‐integral‐derivative (PID) and the predictive function control (PFC) method is proposed. In order to enable the servo system to estimate the influence of uncertainties and correct it by repeating online optimisation continuously, PID–PFC compound controller basing on the structure of internal model control is designed and then applied to continuous rotary electro hydraulic servo system. The simulation results show that compared with the traditional PID, PFC controller, PID–PFC compound control can effectively inhibit the interferences of the electro‐hydraulic servo system, and greatly improve the response speed and tracking performances and expanding the system frequency band width. The accurate control of motor's position can be realised by applying PID–PFC compound control, which can make the servo system has stronger robustness.
