Abstract:In order to realize the energy efficient on the traffic and illuminating lights in city, the Intelligent Traffic and Illuminating Control System is proposed in this paper. The working criteria of real-time monitoring and intelligently control are designed. The key technologies including Internet of Things with power line communication by LonWorks technology and the piezoelectric sensor on site detecting are utilized in the research. The traffic density is detected by piezoelectric sensor and is "told" to LonWorks network to adjust the traffic red lamp lighting time and the illuminating time. The working flow of the Intelligent Traffic and Illuminating Control System has been verified to ensure the sufficient capability by Cp 1.72 and Cpk 1.60 within Statistical Process Control. The Energy efficient is achieved by 35.71% electrical energy reduction and 66.67% fuel consumption reduction on the energy saving and the carbon oxide emission reduction, which demonstrates that the Intelligent Control System achieves effective and valuable real-time monitoring and intelligently control with superiority of the energy efficient compared to the previous reports.

Abstract:Lighting energy consumption accounts for a considerable proportion of the total electricity consumption of a building; therefore, the lighting system of a building has great potential for energy saving. With the development of technology, intelligent lighting control systems are widely used in buildings and have good energy-saving effects. Previous reviews of intelligent lighting control systems have analyzed the research progress, advantages, and limitations of a single technology in depth, but have not yet summarized the combination of various technologies and the scope of application. Therefore, this study starts from the components of intelligent lighting control system and focuses on the data acquisition module and control module. Researches on these two modules are analyzed from the aspects of multi-technology combination, combination with artificial intelligence and multi-system considerations, and the application scope and limitations of the related technologies are summarized to provide references for future engineering practice. Finally, based on the development overview of current research, this study explores research directions that can be further expanded in intelligent lighting control systems to handle future development trends.

Abstract:According to the existing problems of the public lighting control circuit in classroom, we improve the lighting control circuit system by using the single chip microcomputer. On the premise of not changing the layout of classroom lamps, the existing lighting control circuit is updated from one row one control to one lamp one control. Depending on the actual light in the classroom, it is decided whether or not and in which position the lights need to be turned on. The intelligence of the public lighting facilities is an important part of the intelligent campus.

Abstract:To combat global environmental deterioration and energy scarcities, it is crucial to implement energy-saving upgrades for urban road lighting. Comparatively, LEDs have emerged as an advanced and eco-friendly lighting option due to their low energy consumption, excellent performance, high color rendering index, and prolonged lifespan. By incorporating solar cell technology, a smart LED street light controller based on small-scale integrated circuits was developed to enable intelligent control for various lighting needs such as dimming, timing, automatic detection, and sound and light control. Through circuit simulations and experimental outcomes, it has been validated that the controller's structure and performance parameters align with the design specifications. This design encompasses knowledge from diverse fields, including fundamentals of circuit and electronic technology, photovoltaic cell technology, power electronics, and sensor technology, showcasing robust engineering and practicality. Its utilization in the experimental course for second-year college students majoring in electrical engineering contributes to the grooming of professionals and expands the perspectives of future talents, enriching their application of knowledge and practical innovation capabilities.

Abstract:Recently, remote control technology attracted wide attentions and began to be used in lighting applications with computer and internet, power electronics, automatic control technologies together. Most conventional remote controlled lighting systems realized basic lighting functions, i.e. turning on/off and dimming. However, modern remote controlled lighting system needs to have multi-functions including line switching control, line anti-theft, illuminance detection, metering electrical parameters, ballast’s fault-condition detection, data analysis and statistics, abnormal-conditions alert and diagnosis. These functions will make the system more intelligent and practical. This paper proposes such a system comprising intelligent ballast, line switcher, meter, illuminance detector, server, website, etc. The system integration method is illustrated by analyzing the system’s working principle and functions. An experimental system is set up as a demonstration and the test results verify the proposal.

Abstract:Lighting has emerged as a central concern in the domain of city planning and design in recent decades. Better lighting does more than just make cities safer and more secure; it also makes them more aesthetically pleasing and easier to live in. A single type of optical sensor is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of intelligent lighting for urban roads, and as such, there is a growing demand for cutting-edge control systems that can adapt to the dynamic lighting needs in urban environments. This paper's goal is to create an intelligent urban lighting control system by integrating optical multisensor technology and the gray model (GM model). Programmable logic controller (PLC) serves as the system's central processing unit, with light intensity sensors and color sensor-detecting devices placed strategically throughout each city and linked directly to the controller. Each road streetlight is equipped with a motion sensor detection device that is tasked with identifying the presence of vehicles and pedestrians within its field of view. Data fusion technology is utilized to process the environmental data gathered by optical multisensors, the collected data are then used to control and predict outcomes using the robust prediction capability of the GM model, and the result is a lighting control strategy that is both efficient and intelligent. In the end, the strategy presented in this paper is applied to improving the management of an industrial park lighting system's energy consumption. The results of the evaluations show that the fresh method is successful in dimming, prediction, and control. This conclusively demonstrates the efficacy of the paper's proposed design solution, which integrates optical multisensor technology with sophisticated control algorithms and data analysis to improve the quality of life in urban areas by boosting the efficiency and sustainability of the urban lighting system.

Abstract:The drastic growth in the consumption of electrical household appliances becomes a concerned issue in recent years. It is difficult for traditional methods to consider both subject's comfort and energy savings. Moreover, different people have different comfort preferences and requirements. In this paper, a novel integrated control method of blind and lights is proposed and it can provide an intelligent and comfortable living environment in an office building. The presented method has the ability to intelligently learn the subjects' comfort preferences by analyzing their behaviors. Besides, an energy oriented control is proposed by considering the sun position and solar radiation into the room. Our method is implemented on a practical test bed in an energy-efficient building in the campus. The subject experiments are conducted to test the method and platform. After a couple days' learning, the platform can capture the subjects' preferences on the blind and lights. Compared to the traditional method, our method provides a more comfortable and energy-efficient illuminance environment in office building.

Abstract:The traditional urban street light system has limitations in humanization and energy saving. This paper puts forward a design scheme of ZigBee-based control system of urban intelligent street light. Residential street lights and urban lighting lights adopt time-sharing control mode, humanized control mode and holiday mode respectively, and the time of turning lights on and off is determined according to natural light intensity and sunset time. The brightness of the street light in the residential is adjusted according to whether there are pedestrians or not, which brings more convenience to people who go out. Through the experiment, this scheme has achieved the expected effect and has a remarkable effect in energy saving. It will play an active role in accelerating the construction of intelligent cities and improve the quality of life.

Abstract:Through the active investigation of load conditions and energy consumption of most academic buildings, combined with the characteristics of routine use of academic buildings, we designed and developed an energy-saving system for academic buildings. This project uses a microcontroller as the control chip to control the energy saving of the lighting system and temperature and humidity control system in the classrooms and hallways of the teaching building. Under the premise of meeting the daily needs of teaching and normal operation, the wasteful status of unoccupied lights and long-lasting lights is reduced. Experiments show that the design runs stably and causes a beneficial energy-saving effect, realizing energy-saving control in other stages of the teaching building.
