Abstract:Traditional oil pumping unit has the disadvantages such as inferior controllability and low efficiency, new types of motors are researched to take the place of the conventional pumping unit. The electromagnetic oil-pumping unit driven directly by linear motor is presented in this paper. The principle of nine-phase DC linear motor is proposed, and general structure is designed. Finally the small-scale prototype motor has been manufactured and the controller with PI regulator using digital signal processing (DSP) is designed. The simulation and experimental results verify the design and control method.

Abstract:Disadvantages of traditional beam oil pumping units, such as long drive chain, bad controllability and low efficiency can be avoided by the novel oil pumping unit which can be achieved by eliminating the transmission devices, such as speed reducer and four bar linkage. A novel electromagnetic oil-pumping unit driven directly by linear motor was proposed in the paper. A control system of the nine phases brushless direct current linear oil pumping motor is presented in the paper. The paper presents a control system of nine phase linear oil pumping motor based on DSP, analyzes 4-4 phase change logic and 4-5 phase change logic, and gets the best way to reduce the molest during phase changing. Then PI speed and current controller is used to make the linear oil pumping motor working steadily and safely. The experiment indicates that the control system of the nine phase brushless direct current linear oil-pumping motor meets the design index, can make the oil pumping working steadily and safely.

Abstract:In order to study the non-sinusoidal motor drive technology,a detailed analysis of non-sinusoidal motor drive technology was accomplished.Based on the Matlab Simulink development platform,a model of nine-phase induction motor was established,especially for emulation use.By applying the generalized Park transformation,multi-phase induction motor model was converted into d-q harmonic plane.On this basis,the model of a nine-phase induction motor was built.When injected with high order harmonics,a better performance was established in rotational speed and electromagnetic torque,compared to sinusoidal supply.The emulation result shows that non-sinusoidal motor drive technology has great advantages in high power applications.

Abstract:In order to simplify mechanical structure of the cycloidal propeller and reduce mechanical components wear,a new control system of cycloidal propeller was designed.Step motors were used as the control mechanism of cycloidal propeller.The ralationship between the rotaing angle of the plate which blades was mounted on and the oscillating angle of the blades was modeled.By means of the model,the number of pulse for controling the step motors was obtained.These pulses made the controlled oscillating angle of blades accorde with the theory value.The result of simulation experiment demonstrates that the control system of cycloid propeller based on step motor works well and meets the control requirements of cycloidal propeller.

Abstract:A new design scheme of hydraulic pumping unit was brought forward to meet the requirements of long-stroke and low-frequency in the process of oil extraction.By adopting the new compound cylinder and combining the technology of electro-hydraulic proportional control and hydraulic counterweight,the unit appears to be more compact and applicative,meets the demands of long-stroke,low-frequency and large-load,and makes stroke and frequency fully-variable.

Abstract:Traditional direct torque control method suffers from the issues of torque ripple and harmonic currents for multiphase motors. This paper firstly extends the concept of virtual vectors for a seven-phase motor to eliminate harmonic currents. Secondly, the duty cycle optimization is utilized to reduce the torque ripple. Finally, a novel cascade method is proposed to select the voltage vector which can further alleviate the torque ripple. Simulation results verified that the proposed method can effectively reduce dynamic and steady-state torque ripple at both high and low speed. This paper uses a seven-phase motor for an illustration, but it should be mentioned here that the proposed method is applicable for multiphase motors with any number of phases.

Abstract:Due to the increasing requirement of high speed motor, bearingless motor has become more and more fascinated to scientists and technicians. Conventionally, two sets of windings are involved for torque and suspension force respectively. Whereas, in this paper, using the concept of multiple control freedom in multiphase motor, an innovative 5-phase bearingless machine with a single set of windings is developed. The principle of the proposed motor is indicated, in which two groups of currents are fed into a single set of winding to generate two interacting magnetic fields, whose pole pair difference is 1. Further more, the analytical model is given. The hardware system and the control strategy applied in the system are demonstrated. In the end, it is certified that the motor could successfully suspended with a radial displacement variation less than 100um.

Abstract:Due to high-power output (several thousand kW), hydraulic motors have been widely used in various types of large machinery, such as ships, dredgers, shield machines, and shredders. The oil distributor is a key component that can control the flow direction of inputting high-pressure oil and outputting low-pressure oil for the hydraulic motors to ensure their normal operation. However, there exist substantial challenges in solving the problems of the evident oil leak and power loss in the matching interface between the fixed oil distributor and the rotating cylinder block. For that, this study introduces a self-compensation oil distributor (SCOD), which can auto-adjust the interface spacing by adding balancing pistons and floating seal sleeves, thereby decreasing the oil leakage and the power loss caused by long-term interface wear and inevitable separating force. The balancing pistons and floating seal sleeves can provide a clamping force to balance the interface separating force with the help of hydraulic pressure and springs. Then, a theoretical model is developed to evaluate the oil leakage and power loss characteristics of the SCOD. Based on the model, the gap size between the balancing piston and the oil distributor, a significant parameter for the SCOD, is investigated and optimized. The results indicate that the experimental results show good agreement with the model predictions, and the preferable gap size of 5 μ m is obtained to ensure low oil leakage and power loss of hydraulic motors. The presented SCOD offers a feasible way to develop high-efficient hydraulic motors.

Abstract:In order to develop a new type of digital hydraulic pump and study its control characteristics, with the high-speed on/off valve control, a new type of control mode for digital piston pump was developed to realize different functions by changing a controller program. The dynamic and hydraulic models were es-tablished by analyzing the control principle of this digital pump. An interface was designed to connect the two models, and a virtual prototype of this digital pump was built in the virtual prototype platform. The flow control, pressure control and power control of this digital pump were studied in two ways: the simu-lation of the virtual prototype and the experiments of the physics prototype. The results showed that accu-rate pressure and flow control can be realized in less than 2 s, and accurate constant power control can be performed. So the digital pump is convenient to meet different control requirements by using defining way. Besides, the virtual prototype technology can well predict the pump performance and would be a good choice in de-signing and optimizing the digital pumps.

Abstract:With the development of computer control technology and power electronics, six-phase induction motor control system has been widely used in industrial area due to its advantages. Through the study of single-phase induction motor SVPWM control technology, combined with the six-phase induction motor winding structure, a novel six-phase induction motor SVPWM control strategy is proposed and the third harmonic is injected in the system. The six-phase induction motor was injected into the 10% and 20% third harmonic, by detecting the output current and the harmonic content, the relationship between each other is analyzed. Finally the whole six-phase induction motor control system is realized.

Abstract:Electric Submersible Pumps are a widespread industrial solution for artificial lift applications in oil industries. Linear motors are becoming more popular as they are applied for new applications in various fields. Integrated Drive-Motor technology shows many promising advantages. In this paper, a system which combines these three technologies for marginal oil wells application is discussed. This system is intended to overcome some of the sucker rod pump limitations. A modified configuration for Linear Electric Submersible Pumps used in an Integrated Drive-Motor system is presented. In this system, the rectifier is placed on the surface while the inverter is integrated with the motor downhole. The main contribution of this paper is a proposed variable speed control method of this modified system that does not require a long signal cable. In order to avoid the long signal cable, the DC bus voltage is used to control the motor speed under Vector Control scheme. Experimental result verified the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Abstract:In recent years, the global demand for oil has been increasing. In order to reduce production costs, horizontal drilling technology is basically used for deep oil storage, so a cable-driven downhole towing system (horizontal well tractor) has emerged. The traditional horizontal well tractor drive motor has large volume, low efficiency, high vibration and noise, and cannot meet the requirements. Therefore, a permanent magnet synchronous motor with small size, light weight and high efficiency is proposed as the horizontal well drive motor. The paper discusses the coordinate transformation and mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor, analyzes the working principle of permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control technology, and establishes a permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control simulation model using MATLAB simulation software. The simulation results verify that the control system has fast response speed and strong anti-interference, and meets the working requirements of horizontal well tractors.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of low efficiency and small stroke of existing pumping units, a long-stroke pumping unit was designed, which adopts linear motor direct drive, extended stroke by movable pulleys, and adopts suspended weight and aerodynamic compound balance. First, a single-degree-of-freedom system dynamics model of the ground device is established. On this basis, a multi-degree-of-freedom dynamic model of the ground device is established, and the overall system dynamics model is established based on the longitudinal vibration theory of the downhole rod string. The dynamic parameter simulation analysis of the model is compared with the traditional beam pumping unit. The maximum suspension load is reduced by 5.07%, which effectively reduces the stress amplitude of the sucker rod, and the maximum instantaneous output power is reduced by 36.62 %. The power is reduced by about 40%, the negative power is basically eliminated, and the energy saving effect is obvious.

Abstract:With the increasing demand of high efficiency and low coss,linear compressors that have great advantages over the conventional compressors become a research focus currently.First,various linear motors in reciprocating compressors are classified.Then,the principle,the structure,the characteristics,and the relative merits of the moving-coil,moving-magnet,and moving-iron motors are investigated in detail.The research status and developing trends of the motor structure,dynamic analysis,motor design,and motor control is summarized.Especially,the key technologies of the motor optimal design and control such as sensorless control are investigated and summarized.Finally,the developing trends of the linear motor technologies are discussed.The research work provides a reference for the researchers in the field.

Abstract:Pulsed power linear motor is the basic power device in electromagnetic launching (EML) technology, this technology combines with permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor(PMLSM), a pulsed power permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PP-PMLSM) is generated. In this paper, the analysis of cogging force and thrust characteristic of this type of motor are presented, and the scheme comparison of bilateral magnet arranged by N face S with N face N direction is made, at last, the digital control system of the PP-PMLSM is designed and realized. The system design is simple, and it improves the control effect.

Abstract:The control system used in air compressor driven by brushless direct current (BLDC) motor was designed in this paper. Based on the analysis of resistance characteristic of air compressor and direct torque control method, a simple open loop control method used to change duty ratio was provided. Simulation and experiment showed that the fluctuation of Rotational speed had been sharply reduced and the opposing torque output had almost disappeared when different duty ratio in different operational position to drive the BLDC MOTOR was adopted. In that way the air compressor can work more stably without disturbance from opposing torque, which provides the motor with high efficiency as well as sparing cost and reducing the size of system.
