Abstract:To meet the requirement of highly real-time, tremendous data transferring and complicated diagnostic causes of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis with power electronic equipment, a novel idea of distributed system with industrial PC (IPC) and PLC controlling field terminal is proposed in this paper. Based on the techniques of power electronics, fault diagnosis and network, a remote monitoring and fault diagnosis system with combination of a three-layer C/S structure and Internet is presented, which achieves with high compatibility between different equipment. Furthermore, the paper focuses on the discussion about the structure of compatible systems, the compatibility design of remote monitoring and the realization of field control equipment, such as the data collection sub-system, the real-time monitoring sub-system, the fault diagnosis sub-system and the data disposal and management sub-system, and the design of the data transferring sub-system and the communication protocol format.This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 50207008).

Abstract:According to the characteristics of natural language understanding and expert system of network fault diagno2 sis ,the extended production rule was presented. This rule is a hybrid knowledge representation method that the premise , conclusion and advice of the rules are conceptual graphs. Based on this knowledge representation , a model of expert sys2 tem with an interface of natural language understanding for network fault diagnosis was designed. It can translate Chinese sentences about faults into conceptual graphs , infer some results from extended production rules , and output Chinese sen2 tences about results and the process of inference. In order to acquire the knowledge flexibility , Apriori algorithm mining association rules from traps protocal data unit of network was added to acquire knowledge online. The prototype of the ex2 pert system for faults diagnosis of networks had been implemented in Visual Prolog 510 by using this expert system model .

Abstract:Embedded fault diagnosis technology requires high pertinency and small occupation space. Traditional fault diagnosis system can not satisfy the demand above. Aiming at this problem, a kind of embedded fault diagnosis expert system (E-FDES) based on CLIPS and ANN was brought forward. FDES and its relative technology were discussed, developing environment and design tool chain for E-FDES was established in Linux environment. Using modularization theory principle, system re-configuration and expansion ability were guaranteed, and data process components and graphic user interface components could be reduced to meet the embedded system running requirement. By application program interface of CLIPS and Protégé plug-in, knowledge base and rule base were realized, that decreased the developing time of system inference engine and reduced source occupation space. Industry experiments prove that this system runs stably in ARM-Linux embedded environment, switch smoothly and can recognize some common faults for the devices monitored.

Abstract:In order to rapidly realize the diagnosis of certain facility transmitter unit fault,the fault tree is build based on the analyzing its principle,fault model and fault delivering approach.The knowledge library is got by producing rule on the basis of the relationship between the fault tree and the expert system.Simultaneously,the inference engine as the kernel of the expert system is designed based on the forward strategy and the software development environment is build by the common data base technology and object-oriented language.Finally,one scheme is used to enhance the intelligence of the fault diagnosis.

Abstract:The stable operation of the remote sensing satellite receiving system is related to the success or failure of satellite data reception. Accurate fault diagnosis can promptly and effectively troubleshoot and reduce the loss of economic and social benefits. Aiming at the characteristics of fault diagnosis for remote sensing satellite receiving system, a fault diagnosis expert system based on fault tree is designed in this paper. The system builds a fault tree model and expert knowledge base for a remote sensing satellite receiving system, and uses a combination of forward reasoning based on a rule framework and quantitative fault tree analysis to locate the fault. The fault diagnosis expert system has been applied to practical engineering projects, which effectively improves the efficiency of fault diagnosis of remote sensing satellite receiving systems, and is conducive to preventing and controlling faults of remote sensing satellite receiving systems.

Abstract:The expert system is an important field of the artificial intelligence. The traditional form of the interface of the expert system is the command, menu and window at present. These interfaces limit the application of the expert system and embarrass the enthusiasm of using expert system. Combining with the study on the computer network fault diagnosis, the model of expert system of network fault diagnosis and natural language interface of expert system are presented. In this expert system, the interface can understand and generate Chinese sentences. Using this interface, the user and field experts can use expert system to diagnosis the fault of network naturally. In this article, the method of Chinese sentence generation of natural language interface is discussed in detail. According to this method, the algorithm GSCG of Chinese sentence generation from conceptual graphs is designed. Using this model, the expert system of network fault diagnosis has been developed with Prolog. Since the expert system was born, it's theories and applications have been developed rapidly. The expert system deals with the realm of the agriculture, industry, national defense, education and science. Inputted the keywords of the expert system in the search engines of the network, we can get millions results about the expert systems. The latest theories and achievements of the expert system provided a good tool for network fault management. The fault management includes the fault reporting, analyzing, locating, separating, restoring. The fault diagnosis is composed of fault analyzing and locating. The network fault diagnosis expert system can diagnose the faults of the network with a knowledge base which comes from these aspects: the expert's experience, scientific and technical literature, documents and books, acquisition knowledge from the network based on SNMP, which is short for Simple Network Management Protocol. Abstract:On large process plants, real-time fault diagnosis is a difficult task for the operators, expert system can be used to assist them in this work. In this paper, a method of generating knowledge base for the real-time diagnostic problem solving was presented. The knowledge base takes a hierarchical structure: the high level is a semantic network representing general knowledge of fault propagation in a plant; the low level consists of all the nodes in the network, each node may be a functional component or a typical unit operation, and some of the nodes have local analytical fault diagnostic model. The global and local diagnosability of the system can be investigated by using topological and state space approaches. It is found that diagnosability is affected by the allocation of on-line sensors, the availability of off-line symptom information provided by human operator and the way to decompose the process plant. Coordination of the later three factors will give desired diagnosability and diagnosis efficiency. Based on the multi-level knowledge base, an integrated diagnosis system, with conventional part which includes a set of diagnostic algorithms using low level information and knowledge based part which has general reasoning ability, can be built up. To demonstrate usefulness of the knowledge base, an example in a chemical reactor domian is described.

Abstract:The present study fist proposed the structure of a multi-function car-carry fault diagnosis system, and the design of vehicle status monitoring module. Secondly, this paper analyzed the design of vehicle fault diagnosis expert knowledge base, inference machine and interpreter program. The paper used fault tree analysis (FTA) to establish fault tree of automotive engine, chassis systems, body parts and electrical equipment, then simplified the fault tree to form fault diagnosis rules, and establishes car-carry fault diagnosis expert system knowledge base. In its software implementation, SQLite database is used to save and manage diagnostic rules. Expert system inference engine uses an interactive search method based adopt reasoning mechanism. The expert system uses preset text to realize explanation. Finally, this paper discusses hardware and software design of the fault diagnosis system, and demonstrates the system's human-machine interface operating results.

Abstract:In this paper, a new rule-based expert system with multiple knowledge databases is designed according to the characteristics of the domain expert knowledge and its representation. Compared with classic expert system, the new system has a number of corresponding knowledge bases according to the sub-problems of a complex problem. And each knowledge base includes a shallow knowledge base of the empirical knowledge and a deep knowledge base of the scientific knowledge. The inference engine of the system adopts two-level inferring structure, the inference at system level and the one of sub-problem, which can reduce the searching space quickly and work efficiently. The system runs well over Internet.

Abstract:Traditional expert systems for fault diagnosis have a bottleneck in knowledge acquisition, and have limitations in knowledge representation and reasoning. A new expert system shell for fault diagnosis is presented in this paper to develop multiple knowledge models (object model, rules, neural network, case-base and diagnose models) hierarchically based on multiple knowledge. The structure of the expert system shell and the knowledge representation of multiple models are described. Diagnostic algorithms are presented for automatic modeling and hierarchical reasoning. It will be shown that the expert system shell is very effective in building diagnostic expert systems.

Abstract:By studying trouble tickets from small enterprise networks, we conclude that their operators need detailed fault diagnosis. That is, the diagnostic system should be able to diagnose not only generic faults (e.g., performance-related) but also application specific faults (e.g., error codes). It should also identify culprits at a fine granularity such as a process or firewall configuration. We build a system, called NetMedic, that enables detailed diagnosis by harnessing the rich information exposed by modern operating systems and applications. It formulates detailed diagnosis as an inference problem that more faithfully captures the behaviors and interactions of fine-grained network components such as processes. The primary challenge in solving this problem is inferring when a component might be impacting another. Our solution is based on an intuitive technique that uses the joint behavior of two components in the past to estimate the likelihood of them impacting one another in the present. We find that our deployed prototype is effective at diagnosing faults that we inject in a live environment. The faulty component is correctly identified as the most likely culprit in 80% of the cases and is almost always in the list of top five culprits.
