Abstract:Landscape Architecture Theory is one of the compulsory courses for postgraduates in the Department of Landscape Studies,Tongji University.While discussing the teaching reform of this course,the previous teaching approach focusing on contents is argued to be an approach of "giving fishes".Influenced by Internet development and Information Age,a full transition to a new teaching mode based on critical thinking is required urgently,focusing on "making a fisherman".The new mode includes 4 aspects of teaching goal redefinition,teaching content reorganization,teaching approach adjustment and teaching achievement examination.Based on Professor Liu Bin-yi's "Trilism Theory",a new teaching mode called LAT is proposed to establish the overall framework of "overview-three clues of theories-summary" and articulate the related theories on Landscape Architecture from three aspects of aesthetics,ecology and recreation.In addition,the LAT teaching mode is established to have three parts,including lecture series considering the critical thinking as the main line,analysis of cases of criticizing practices,and tutorial teaching for interactive inspiration.
