Method System and Research Progress on the Implementation Evaluation of Urban Master Planning

Abstract:Evaluation methodology of urban master planning implementation is an important component of urban planning theories . In China, urban master planning evaluation has achieved legal position, as well as abundant research achievements and practical experience. But on the whole, this study is still in its infancy. Based on the three dimensions, namely concept, object and technology of the evaluation, this paper tries to build stereo method system so as to analyze and summarize various evaluation methods. Corresponding to each dimension, these methods are divided into static methods and dynamic methods, outcome methods and process methods, and quantitative methods and qualitative methods. Through the classiifed review, a multiple and complex method system should be established by the interaction of methods on different dimensions. Only in this way can we lead to the comprehensive and objective evaluation of urban master planning implementation.
