Abstract:Based on the single-computer and OEM board, an economic GPS receiver, with low cost, is designed to meet the performance requirements. The heart of this system’s hardware is Intel 8051 single-computer; the system is developed by using the Jupiter-TM GPS receiving board; the hardware system also contains keyboard, LCD, RS-232 cable, and the other outer devices. The system’s software uses the assemble language to realize picking up and displaying GPS signal, and the basic control and operation on keyboard. By the experiment, the single point and non-difference location precision of this receiver is low, but higher than the common hand receiver, so this receiver needs further research to improve the precision.

Abstract:Development of GNSS software receiver and introduces the basic structure of GNSS software receiver is first researched and analyzed,summarized its advantages and realizes the whole system regarding GPS software receiver.Except it implements the intermediate frequent signal sampling module for the hardware part,the system is all carried out in software way,including intermediate frequency signal processing module,the signal acquiring and tracking module,ephemeris storage and conversion module and single-point static positioning module aiming at pseudorange.The errors concerned in the system mainly contain satellite clock error,troposphere error,ionosphere error and the error caused by earth rotation.The positioning arithmetic and precision of results have been tested and analyzed.Besides,The entire system possesses friendly interface with fine flexibility and extensibility.

Abstract:This system is an underwater integrated navigation system based on Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS)/Global Positioning System (GPS)/Doppler Velocity Log (DVL). It is built on STM32F103 equipped with the uCOS-II system, which has perfect real-time character, low cost and high-performance. The present hardware includes singer board computer, AHRS, DVL, depth gauge, and GPS receiver. Kalman filter is applied in the sensors data process and dead-reckoning algorithm of navigation system. This paper describes hardware and software design as well as results of simulation. The performance analysis is carried out based on the position and velocity errors. It shows that the system is viable and can be used in the "XUANWU" Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).

Abstract:The essential component and the characteristic of GNSS software receiver were described according the principle of GNSS software receiver.The key modules,which include the signal processing module,the signal acquiring and tracking module,and the navigation ephemeris resolution module,were introduced emphatically.In order to test the effectiveness of these modules,actual collection results of signal acquisition,tracking and positioning precision were performed.The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms of signal acquiring,tracking,and navigation resolution can be carried out correctly and conveniently,and the single point static positioning can be realized.The result precision can reach 10 m when GDOP value is less than 4.

Abstract:The paper presents a prototype design of the Galileo user receiver architecture based upon Digital Radio and Direct Digital Synthesis(DDS) techniques.After outlining a generic GNSS user receiver system architecture,we focus on the design of the RF front-end module and base-band signal processing module of the Galileo user receiver.The frequency plan,A/D sampling, and radio frequency design criteria are presented;and the spread spectrum signal acquisition and tracking algorithms are proposed in details.A very precise simulation by digital circuit structure was performed to verify the operability of the design.The simulation system realized acquisition of E5 band Galileo signals,and successfully tracked the carrier Doppler acceleration of 200Hz/s and the change of Doppler acceleration of 1000Hz/s2.

Abstract:Recently more and more people pay attention to software GPS receiver, because it provides a high level of flexibility and simplicity for many potential applications. The resulting software GPS receivers offer considerable flexibility in modifying settings to accommodate new applications without redesigning hardware, choosing an IF frequency, or implementing future upgrades. This paper introduces the design of a software-based receiver for L1-band civilian GPS applications, including the design of the RF front end based on MAX2769, the algorithms for the signal acquisition, tracking and positioning decoding, which are demonstrated.

Abstract:Due to different requirements of Global Positioning System (GPS) applications, performances of GPS receiver vary greatly. In order to evaluate a GPS receiver's performances, a simulation platform build on Matlab has been developed by this research. This platform includes four elements: user interface, GPS signal simulator (intermediate frequency, IF), civilian (C/A) software receiver and noise 14 generator. Design and implementation of the platform are discussed in details in this paper. Firstly, a mathematical model of intermediate frequency (IF) GPS signal simulator is introduced. After that, methods of determining visual satellites and computing transmission time by using existing ephemeris are also discussed. Secondly, key algorithms of the software 14 receiver, including acquisition and tracking, are presented. Finally, an experiment is demonstrated to test the validity of this platform. The close correspondence between pre-designed user I trajectories and position results of the software receiver certifies 19 the validity of this platform. Compared with hardware simulation, this platform possesses more effective and flexible. The performances of the receiver can be tested completely by changing different scenes of signal simulator. All key techniques of this platform are modularized and coded with Matlab language. It is easy to understood and used. In this sense, this simulation platform can be an ideal tool for new beginners of this field to master GPS principles.

Abstract:As the construction and modernization of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), in the near future, the four main navigation systems (GPS, BDS, GLONASS and GALILEO) as well as some regional systems such as QZSS and IRNSS will broadcast many signals in different frequency. Some of the signals may need further adjustment. In interim, the traditional hardware GNSS receivers which have high integration density and low flexibility are not suited for signals monitoring especially for those new signals.In order to meet the requirement of monitoring GNSS signals as well as the joint processing of them, a high-flexibility multi-system full-band real-time GNSS software receiver is developed. In addition to a wideband antenna, a RF front-end and a data acquisition card to fulfill down-conversion and AD conversion, the rest of receiver are implemented in an ordinary PC with a GPU. With efficient acquisition and tracking methods, the proposal receiver can process all of the civil signals from four main GNSS and some of the regional systems in real-time, including GPS L1C/A, L2C, L5, L1C, BDS B1, B2, GLONASS Gl, G2, GALILEO ElOS, E5a, E5b, QZSS L1C/A, L2C, L5, and L1C signals. Based on the software architecture, the receiver can provide PVT results, measurement results, and many intermediate data such as correlator outputs and raw bit stream which are necessary for signals monitoring and performance analysis. Meanwhile, the strong flexibility of this receiver makes it easy to expansion and update in the future. The GLONASS modernized signals as well as BDS Phase III signals can be quickly added to current receiver after the release of their interface control document (ICD).By using the proposed software receiver, this paper presents the real-time tracking states of all civil signals, the positioning results of each navigation signal, and the monitoring results of viable GNSS satellites. Finally, since the receiver can handle all the civil GNSS signals in real-time and has a flexible structure, it can be used as a dedicated development platform for various types of navigation research.

Abstract:As the kernel component of GPS receiver,the direct development of the GPS OEM board has some advantages in application,such as feasibility,convenience,economy and modulization,etc.In the paper,the detailed development as well as some related items of the GPS OEM board are discussed,and the timing performance and the 1pps output are also researched with the Motorola M12MT+ TIMING ONCORE as an example.As a result,the method of accurate timing using GPS OEM board is presented,and an accuracy analysis is provided,which is helpful for the accurate timing in surveying.

The practical applications show that the design methods are very valid and practicable.

Abstract:Traditional GNSS receivers are designed for single or only several kinds of navigation signals, their structure is vertical fixed, can only process one or several kinds of signals, so it is difficult to meet the needs of the compatibility and interoperability research among different GNSS systems. To this end, in this paper, we design and implement a general GNSS software receiver, in which modules and functions are divided into pseudo-code (including sub code), subcarrier, and navigation data three levels, to achieve the independence and combination of different parts. Through module recombination and parameter configuration, this receiver achieves flexible processing ability for various GNSS signals. The modules can be configured and recombined include the acquiring, tracking, demodulation, information processing, and positioning. The parameters that can be configured include pseudo-code (sub code), subcarrier rate, length, cycle, and signal modulation, frequency, etc. the signal processing algorithms used in each module can be upgraded and expanded easily. This receiver provides a convenient platform for the research of compatibility and interoperability, as well as a platform for assessing navigation signals, especially the new signal performance, and algorithm adapt to new signal processing technology. Currently, the general GNSS software receiver has passed the actual satellite signal (GPS L1/L5, GALILEO E1 civil signals) and simulated signal (COMPASS, GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS civil signals in frequencies) testing. Only upgrading the corresponding signal processing unit, reconfiguring the parameters, this receiver can immediately process the new navigation signal designed for future.

Abstract:The GNSS software receiver principle is introduced based on its architecture.Signal correlator and its work flow are designed firstly in this paper.Parallel code searching strategy using FFT(fast fourier transform)is discussed in detail,and the phase discriminator,frequency discriminator in the carrier loop for signal tracking are also analyzed.Various error sources are discussed such as the clock error,tropospheric error model,where a simple equivalent model for the later one is proposed for the software receiver.The implementation steps based on least square method is also proposed.Simulation result shows that the proposed signal acquisition strategy and the tracking method work well,including the parallel code searching and the PLL(phase lock loop)algorithm supported by DLL(delay lock loop)and FLL(frequency lock loop).In addition,the single point positioning result meets the demand using the least square method with the considerations of clock error,tropospheric error,ionospheric error and the earth rotation introduced error.

Abstract:Abstract GNSS receiver technologies allied in high orbit altitudes has developed rapidly in recent years and has been used in orbit on many spacecraft. In this paper, TJS-5 Satellite is taken as an example to illustrate the design scheme of the high orbit navigation receiver based on the SoC platform, which takes the characteristics of the weak signals of GEO orbit navigation into consideration, and adopts the high sensitivity acquisition technology and the fast signal acquisition technology. Finally, the 19-day in-orbit data of TJS-5 Satellite are analyzed. The number of available satellites is between 4 and 8, the position accuracy of orbit determination is 15.8133m and the velocity is 0.012108m/s, which meets the needs of autonomous positioning and precise orbit determination in the whole orbit period of the satellite. The calculated results are compared with those of TJS-2 satellite.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the GPS-25LP receiver module of Garmin Corporation and its application in portable navigator for automobile .We put forward a design method of GPS portable navigator for automobile using this receiver module and using MCU AT89C51 as the main controller chip, including hardware and software part. Then give the program which receive and handle GPS message. The navigator works well in the lab. It can display the update navigating information speedily and correctly.

Abstract:The GPS(Global Position System) synchronizing clock is composed of GPS receiver,MCU and peripheral circuits.With MB 90543 as the core,the central processing unit reads and processes data from GPS receiver to obtain ASCII-coded UCT(Universal Coordinated Time),then converts it into BCD-coded serial time data for display.M12 GPS receiver outputs PPS(Pulse Per Second) with 1 μs precision.Circuits of frequency measurement and LED(Light Emitting Diode) display ensure the real-time measuring and display of power frequency.The software includes subroutines of initialization,GPS receiver receiving / sending,serial port / CAN bus communication and display.When serial communication mode is adopted for time correction,interruptions are applied for receiving /sending serial data of date / time information.When pulse mode is adopted for time correction,the clock error is less than 50 μs.Both modes are used in this clock.Correct PPS identification is the key to ensure clock precision.The anti-jamming measures are effective,i.e.software and hardware windows to PPS.The designed GPS synchronizing clock runs well.
GPS Receiver Performance Simulation and Analysis under Strong Interference

Abstract:Due to weak receiving power of Global Positioning System(GPS) signal,a GPS receiver is vulnerable to interference.In order to analysis interference effects on a GPS receiver,a software simulation platform built on Matlab has been developed by this research.It includes four basic elements:user interface,GPS signal simulator(intermediate frequency,IF),civilian(C/A) software receiver and interference generator.The output values of the receiver driven by jammed GPS signals,such as pseudorange,carrier-noise density radio(C/No),phase locked loop locked value and position error,are used to analyze interference effects.The close correspondence between theoretical result and experimental conclusion show that this simulation platform could be used to evaluate the performance of a GPS receiver under interference conditions.Compared with conventional hardware simulation,software simulation can provide researchers and developers with more evaluation and testing flexibility and low cost.All key techniques of this platform are modularized and coded with Matlab language.In this sense,this simulation platform is suit for new beginners of this field to understand GPS principles and for engineers to develop more advanced anti-jamming algorithm.

Abstract:The visibility of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) applied in high-Earth orbit altitudes dramatically reduces, while space signal power level is weak, and fast signal acquisition and tracking becomes very difficult. For GNSS receiver techniques research, GNSS signals characteristics and availability were analyzed in China's GEO SJ-17 satellite. Antenna pattern was from the official release. And for high-Earth orbit spacecraft's GNSS weak signals characteristics, GNSS receiver used long-time integration comb filter method to acquire, took differential coherent bit synchronization method to track and used extended Kalman filter orbit determination based on dynamics. Finally, hardware-in-the-loop tests show that GNSS receiver's acquisition sensitivity is better than - 173 dBW, tracking sensitivity is better than - 175 dBW, the position accuracy of orbit determination is better than 50 m, and the velocity is better than 0. 01 m/s.
