Abstract:In this article, we study new methods for constructing uninorms on bounded lattices. First, we present new methods for constructing uninorms on bounded lattices under the additional constraints and prove that some of these constraints are sufficient and necessary for the uninorms. Second, we show that the additional constraints on $t$-norms ($t$-conorms) and $t$-subnorms ($t$-subconorms) of some uninorms are exactly sufficient and necessary. At last, we give new constructions of uninorms on arbitrary bounded lattices by interation based on $t$-conorms and $t$-conorms.

Abstract:The construction of uninorms on bounded lattices has been a attractive research area. In this paper, we introduce some new classes of uninorms on bounded lattices via t-subnorms and t-subconorms with a neutral element e under some constraints. We also give some illustrative examples to help understand the structure of these new uninorms. Moreover, we provide an answer to the open problem raised by <a class="workspace-trigger" href="#br0070">[7]</a>. Finally, the differences between our methods and existing approaches are assessed.

Abstract:In the literature on uninorms on lattices, the proof of associativity of a uninorm is usually split into all possible cases, which takes up a lot of space. In this article, we use commutativity to reduce the complexity in the proof of associativity. Moreover, some methods for constructing uninorms on an arbitrary bounded lattice are introduced. These methods generalize some construction methods in the literature.

Abstract:In this paper, we further investigate new construction methods for uninorms on bounded lattices via given uninorms. More specifically, we first construct new uninorms on arbitrary bounded lattices by extending a given uninorm on a subinterval of the lattices under necessary and sufficient conditions on the given uninorm. Moreover, based on the new uninorms, we can give another sufficient and necessary condition under which $S_{1}^{*}$ is a $t$-conorm ($T_{1}^{*}$ is a $t$-norm) in \cite{SS06}. Furthermore, using closure operators (interior operators), we also provide new construction methods for uninorms by extending the given uninorm on a subinterval of a bounded lattice under some additional constraints and simultaneously investigate the additional constraints carefully and systematically. Meanwhile, some illustrative examples for the above construction methods of uninorms on bounded lattices are provided.

Abstract:We control the number of critical points of a height function arising from the Nash isometric embedding of a compact Riemanniann-manifoldM. The Ln/2 curvature norm ∥R∥ and a similar scalar ∥R∥ are introduced and their integralR(M) andR(M) overM. We prove thatR(M) is bounded below by a constant depending only onn and the Betti numbers ofM. Thus a new sphere theorem is proved by eliminating allith Betti numbers fori = 1, .…n −1. Abstract:In this paper, we construct uninorms on a bounded trellis based on t-(co)norms on a ∧(∨) -semi-trellis and closure (interior) operators. The key is how to ensure the monotonicity of the constructed binary operation, which is closely related to the neutral element. We propose the uninorms on bounded trellises and study some basic properties. Specially, the neutral element must be middle-transitive if there is a uninorm on a bounded trellis. Based on this, we introduce the construction method according to the left- and middle-transitive neutral element via t-norms, t-superconorms and closure operators on bounded trellises satisfying (CC1). Similarly, we provide the construction method when the neutral element is right- and middle-transitive via t-conorms, t-subnorms and interior operators on bounded trellises satisfying (CC2). Finally, we give two methods of constructing uninorms if the neutral element is middle-transitive and is not in any cycle.

On positive norm-attaining operators between Banach lattices

Abstract:In this paper we study the norm-attainment of positive operators between Banach lattices. By considering an absolute version of James boundaries, we prove that: If $E$ is a reflexive Banach lattice whose order is given by a basis and $F$ is a Dedekind complete Banach lattice, then every positive operator from $E$ to $F$ is compact if and only if every positive operator from $E$ to $F$ attains its norm. An analogue result considering that $E$ is reflexive and the order in $F$ is continuous and given by a basis was proven. We applied our result to study a positive version of the weak maximizing property.

Abstract:In this study, we show some construction methods to obtain a semi-t-operator from a given pseudo-t-conorm and pseudo-t-norm on bounded lattices. Using these methods, we prove that the known methods of constructing semi-t-operators on bounded lattices proposed by Fang and Hu are incorrect, and present the correct forms at the same time. Abstract:The ordinal sum of t-norms on a bounded lattice has been used to construct other t-norms. However, an ordinal sum of binary operations (not necessarily t-norms) defined on the fixed subintervals of a bounded lattice may not be a t-norm. Some necessary and sufficient conditions are presented in this article for ensuring that an ordinal sum on a bounded lattice of two binary operations is, in fact, a t-norm. In particular, the results presented here provide an answer to an open problem put forward by Ertuğrul and Yeşilyurt, ordinal sums of triangular norms on bounded lattices, Inf. Towards Strong Reverse Minkowski-type Inequalities for Lattices

Abstract:We present a natural reverse Minkowski-type inequality for lattices, which gives upper bounds on the number of lattice points in a Euclidean ball in terms of sublattice determinants, and conjecture its optimal form. The conjecture exhibits a surprising wealth of connections to various areas in mathematics and computer science, including a conjecture motivated by integer programming by Kannan and Lovász (Annals of Math. 1988), a question from additive combinatorics asked by Green, a question on Brownian motions asked by Saloff-Coste (Colloq. Math. 2010), a theorem by Milman and Pisier from convex geometry (Ann. Probab. 1987), worst-case to average-case reductions in lattice-based cryptography, and more. We present these connections, provide evidence for the conjecture, and discuss possible approaches towards a proof. Our main technical contribution is in proving that our conjecture implies the $\ell_2$ case of the Kannan and Lovász conjecture. The proof relies on a novel convex relaxation for the covering radius, and a rounding procedure for based on "uncrossing" lattice subspaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we study properties of well-rounded ideal lattices focusing on the lower bounds for their minimum norm. We present counterexamples showing that the stated bounds in a previous work do not hold for mixed number fields through the canonical embedding. However, we prove that ideal lattices obtained via the Minkowski embedding (instead of the canonical embedding) are well-rounded if and only if the number field is cyclotomic. Additionally, we derive new lower bounds for the minimum norm of ideal lattices under both the canonical and twisted embeddings. Our results not only refine existing theories but also open new possibilities for research on well-rounded ideal lattices in higher dimensions.

Abstract:Suppose that E and F are Banach lattices. It is known that there are several norms on the Fremlin tensor product that turn it into a normed lattice; in particular, the projective norm (known as the Fremlin projective norm) and the injective norm (known as the Wittstock injective norm). Now, assume that E and F are locally convex-solid vector lattices. Although we have a suitable vector lattice structure for the tensor product E and F (known as the Fremlin tensor product and denoted by ), there is a lack of topological structure on , in general. In this note, we consider a linear topology on that makes it into a locally convex-solid vector lattice, as well; this approach can be taken as a generalization of the projective norm of the Fremlin tensor product between Banach lattices.

Abstract:Motivated by the construction of the free Banach lattice generated by a Banach space, we introduce and study several vector and Banach lattices of positively homogeneous functions defined on the dual of a Banach space $E$. The relations between these lattices allow us to give multiple characterizations of when the underlying Banach space $E$ is finite-dimensional and when it is reflexive. Furthermore, we show that lattice homomorphisms between free Banach lattices are always composition operators, and study how these operators behave on the scale of lattices of positively homogeneous functions.
