RAPD Molecular Marker Technology and Application Progress

Abstract:About the research of the plant genetics breeding, people always tended to use the genetic marker methods, which were easy to identify the results, to study the heredity and variation rules. The genetic markers that were involved should possess these characteristics, which were heritable, special, and easily identified expression form. And currently these genetic markers contained four types which were morphology marker, cell marker, biochemistry marker and molecular marker. Among them, molecular marker technique has been widely used in plant genetic map construction, system development analysis, germplasm resources appraisal, molecular marker-assisted breeding, virus identification, somatic hybrid identification, registration of new crops, and the protection of patent -related, and other aspects. This paper mainly introduces the generation, development, principle, and application of the Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD).
