Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the greedy approximations for g-frames in Hilbert spaces. It is shown that g-frames satisfy the quasi greedy and almost greedy conditions. Moreover, we prove that g-Riesz bases satisfy the greedy condition.

Abstract:A continuous g-frame is a generalization of g-frames and continuous frames, but they behave much differently from g-frames due to the underlying characteristic of measure spaces. Now, continuous g-frames have been extensively studied, while continuous g-sequences such as continuous g-frame sequence, g-Riesz sequences, and continuous g-orthonormal systems have not. This paper addresses continuous g-sequences. It is a continuation of Zhang and Li, in Numer. Func. Anal. Opt., 40 (2019), 1268-1290, where they dealt with g-sequences. In terms of synthesis and Gram operator methods, we in this paper characterize continuous g-Bessel, g-frame, and g-Riesz sequences, respectively, and obtain the Pythagorean theorem for continuous g-orthonormal systems. It is worth that our results are similar to the case of g-ones, but their proofs are nontrivial. It is because the definition of continuous g-sequences is different from that of g-sequences due to it involving general measure space.

Abstract:We discuss the concepts of pseudo-dual frames and approximately dual frames, and illuminate their relationship to classical frames. Approximately dual frames are easier to construct than the classical dual frames, and might be tailored to yield almost perfect reconstruction. For approximately dual frames constructed via perturbation theory, we provide a bound on the deviation from perfect reconstruction. An alternative bound is derived for the rich class of Gabor frames, by using the Walnut representation of the frame operator to estimate the deviation from equality in the duality conditions. As illustration of the results, we construct explicit approximate duals of Gabor frames generated by the Gaussian; these approximate duals yield almost perfect reconstruction. Amazingly, the method applies also to certain Gabor frames that are far from being tight.

Abstract:In this paper, we define the concept of soft $g$-frame in soft Hilbert spaces by extending the concept of soft from frame to $g$-frame. We then show some properties of the soft $g$-frames in soft Hilbert spaces. Among other results, we show that the $g$-frame operator is associated with a soft, finite, self-adjoining, reversible, and finite inverse $g$-frame and get the dual g-frames. In addition, we prove that every element in Hilbert's soft space satisfies the theorem of $g$-frame decomposition.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate exact $K$-g-frames, weaving of $K$-g-frames and $Q$-dual of g-frames in Hilbert spaces. We present a sufficient condition for a g-Bessel sequence to be an exact $K$-g-frame. Given two woven pairs $(\Lambda, \Gamma)$ and $(\Theta, \Delta)$ of $K$-g-frames, we investigate under what conditions can $\Lambda$ be $K$-g-woven with $\Delta$ if $\Gamma$ is $K$-g-woven with $\Theta$. Given a $K$-g-frame $\Lambda$ and its dual $\Gamma$ on $\mathcal{U}$, we construct a new pair based on $\Lambda$ and $\Gamma$ so that they are woven on a subspace $R(K)$ of $\mathcal{U}$. Finally, we give an equivalent characterization of $Q$-dual of g-frames.

Abstract:Due to the frame elements of the g-frames being operators, it has many differences from traditional frames. Hence some new characterizations of exact phase-retrievable g-frames from the perspective of operator theory are mainly discussed in this paper. Firstly, we find that for an exact phase-retrievable g-frame, its canonical dual frame will maintain the exact phase-retrievability. Then the stability of the exact phase-retrievability is discussed. More specifically, an exact phase-retrievable g-frame is still exact phase-retrievable after a small disturbance can be obtained in this paper. In addition, we show that the direct sum of two g-frames which have the exact PR-redundancy property also have the exact PR-redundancy property. With the help of these results, the existence of the exact phase-retrievable g-frames is discussed. We prove that for the real Hilbert space case, an exact phase-retrievable g-frame of length N exists for every

Abstract:This paper explores the concept of $K$-$g$-frames in locally $C^*$-algebras, which are shown to be more general than $g$-frames. The authors first introduce the notion of a $g$-orthonormal basis and utilize it to define the $g$-operator, a crucial element for studying the construction of $K$-$g$-frames in locally $C^*$-algebras. The paper establishes a relationship between $g$-frames and $K$-$g$-frames and introduces the $K$-dual $g$-frame along with its properties. Finally, the authors characterize $K$-$g$-frames through two other related concepts.

Abstract:The concept of Hilbert-Schmidt frames (HS-frames) is more general than that of g-frames. In this paper, we investigate the oblique dual (OD) and ε -approximate oblique dual ( ε -AOD) HS-frames on closed subspaces W and V of a separable Hilbert space H . We first introduce the concepts of OD and ε -AOD HS-frames. Then we present some conditions for a pair of OD and ε -AOD HS-frames to be symmetric. We also obtain the algebraic formula for all OD and ε -AOD HS-frames on V for a given HS-frame in W . As application, we get the canonical OD HS-frame has a minimum norm among all the representations of elements in W . We also discuss the perturbations of ε -AOD HS-frames. Finally, applying our results, we not only recover some known results but also derive a new result in the classical Hilbert space frame setting.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce the notion of $E$-$g$-frames for a separable Hilbert spaces $\mathcal H$, where $E$ is an invertible infinite matrix mapping on the Hilbert space $\mathop\oplus\limits_{n=1}^{\infty}\mathcal H_n$. We study some prperties of $E$-$g$-frames. First, we give a result concerning perturbation of $E$-$g$-frames and then use it to construct $E$-$g$-frames in separable Hilbert spaces.

Abstract:We extend the concept of weaving Hilbert space frames to the Banach space setting. Similar to frames in a Hilbert space, we show that for any two approximate Schauder frames for a Banach space, every weaving is an approximate Schauder frame if and only if there is a uniform constant C≥1 such that every weaving is a C-approximate Schauder frame. We also study weaving Schauder bases, where it is necessary to introduce two notions of weaving. On one hand, we can ask if two Schauder bases are woven when considered as Schauder frames with their biorthogonal functionals, and alternatively, we can ask if each weaving of two Schauder bases remains a Schauder basis. We will prove that these two notions coincide when all weavings are unconditional, but otherwise they can be different. Lastly, we prove two perturbation theorems for approximate Schauder frames.

Abstract:This paper addresses the Hilbert–Schmidt frame (HS-frame) theory. We introduce the concept of generalized dual HS-frame (g-dual HS-frame) which generalizes that of g-dual frame. We prove that two equivalent HS-frames form a g-dual HS-frame pair, characterize operators on that transform a pair of HS-Riesz bases into a g-dual HS-frame pair, and present a parametric expression of all g-dual HS-frames of an arbitrarily given HS-frame. Also the perturbation-stability and topological properties of g-dual HS-frames are investigated. Finally, applying our results, we not only recover some known results but also derive some new results in the classical Hilbert space frame setting.

Abstract:Weaving frames have potential applications in wireless sensor networks that require distributed processing of signals under different frames. In this paper, we study some new properties of weaving generalized frames (or g-frames) and weaving generalized orthonormal bases (or g-orthonormal bases). It is shown that a g-frame and its dual g-frame are woven. The inter-relation of optimal g-frame bounds and optimal universal g-frame bounds is studied. Further, we present a characterization of weaving g-frames. Illustrations are given to show the difference in properties of weaving generalized Riesz bases and weaving Riesz bases.

Abstract:The general theory of greedy approximation with respect to arbitrary dictionaries is well developed in the case of real Banach spaces. Recently, some of results proved for the Weak Chebyshev Greedy Algorithm (WCGA) in the case of real Banach spaces were extended to the case of complex Banach spaces. In this paper we extend some of known in the real case results for other than WCGA greedy algorithms to the case of complex Banach spaces.

Abstract:Various structures and configurations make frame to be a powerful tool in the domain of signal processing. Among its numerous configurations, the ones which have drawn much attention recently are Equiangular Tight Frames (ETFs) and Grassmannian Frames. These frames both have optimality in coherence, thus bring robustness and optimal performance in applications such as digital fingerprint, erasure channels, and Compressive Sensing. However, the strict constraint on existence and construction of ETFs and Grassmannian Frames becomes the main obstacle for widespread use. In this paper, we propose a new configuration of frames: Quasi-Equiangular Frames, as a compromise but more convenient and flexible approximation of ETFs and Grassmannian Frames. We will give formal definition of Quasi-Equiangular Frames and analyze its relationship with ETFs and Grassmannian Frames. Furthermore, for popularity of ETFs and Grassmannian Frames in Compressive Sensing, we utilize the technique of random matrices to obtain a probabilistic bound for the Restricted fsometry Constant (RfC) of Quasi-Equiangular Frame. Numerical simulations are demonstrated for validation.

Abstract:We study Gabor frames with Hermite window functions. Gröchenig and Lyubarskii provided a sufficient density condition for their frame sets, which leads to what we call the ``safety region". For rectangular lattices and Hermite windows of order 4 and higher, we enlarge this safety region by providing new points on the boundary of this region. For this purpose, we employ the Janssen representation of the frame operator to compare its distance to the identity in the operator norm. The calculations lead to estimates on series involving Laguerre polynomials with Gaussian weight functions.

Abstract:In this work, we analyze Gabor frames for the Weyl--Heisenberg group and wavelet frames for the extended affine group. Firstly, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of nonstationary frames of translates. Using these conditions, we give the existence of Gabor frames from the Weyl--Heisenberg group and wavelet frames for the extended affine group. We present a representation of functions in the closure of the linear span of a Gabor frame sequence in terms of the Fourier transform of window functions. We show that the canonical dual of frames of translates has the same structure. An approximation of inverse of the frame operator of nonstationary frames of translates is presented. It is shown that a nonstationary frame of translates is a Riesz basis if it is linearly independent and satisfies approximation of the inverse frame operator. Finally, we give equivalent conditions for a nonstationary sequence of translates to be linearly independent.

Abstract:Gabor frames with Hermite functions are equivalent to sampling sequences in true Fock spaces of polyanalytic functions. In the L^2-case, such an equivalence follows from the unitarity of the polyanalytic Bargmann transform. We will introduce Banach spaces of polyanalytic functions and investigate the mapping properties of the polyanalytic Bargmann transform on modulation spaces. By applying the theory of coorbit spaces and localized frames to the Fock representation of the Heisenberg group, we derive explicit polyanalytic sampling theorems which can be seen as a polyanalytic version of the lattice sampling theorem discussed by J. M. Whittaker in Chapter 5 of his book "Interpolatory Function Theory".

Riesz Outer Product Hilbert Space Frames: Quantitative Bounds, Topological Properties, and Full Geometric Characterization

Abstract:Outer product frames are important objects in Hilbert space frame theory. But very little is known about them. In this paper, we make the first detailed study of the family of outer product frames induced directly by vector sequences. We are interested in both the quantitative attributs of these outer product sequences (in particular, their Riesz and frame bounds), as well as their independence and spanning properties. We show that Riesz sequences of vectors yield Riesz sequences of outer products with the same (or better) Riesz bounds. Equiangular tight frames are shown to produce Riesz sequences with optimal Riesz bounds for outer products. We provide constructions of frames which produce Riesz outer product bases with "good" Riesz bounds. We show that the family of unit norm frames which yield independent outer product sequences is open and dense (in a Euclidean-analytic sense) within the topological space $ \otimes_{i=1}^M S_{N - 1}$ where $M$ is less than or equal to the dimension of the space of symmetric operators on $\mathbb{H}^N$; that is to say, almost every frame with such a bound on its cardinality will induce a set of independent outer products. Thus, this would mean that finding the necessary and sufficient conditions such that the induced outer products are dependent is a more interesting question. For the coup de grace, we give a full analytic and geometric classification of such sequences which produce dependent outer products.
