Abstract:Two new secoiridoid glycosides, named ethyl secologanoside (1) and 6′- O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl demethylsecologanol (2), together with three known ones, secologanoside (3), secoxyloganin (4), and loniceroside (5), were isolated from the dried buds of Lonicera macranthoides. The structures of the new compounds were determined on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analyses and acidic hydrolysis.

Abstract:The phytochemical investigation of the dried buds of L. macranthoides Hand. -Mazz. Symb. Sin. collected in Sichuan, China resulted in the isolation of three aliphatic glycosides (1–3), a caffeoyl glucoside (4), a secoiridoid glycoside (5), and two caffeoylquinic acid analogs (6 and 7). Among them, compound 1 was novel and identified as n-butyl-β-d-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside based on the detailed spectroscopic analyses and chemical studies. Compounds 1–4 were isolated for the first time from Caprifoliaceae family; compounds 5–7 were isolated for the first time from L. macranthoides. The chemotaxonomic significance of these compounds was summarized.

Abstract:Aim: To investigate the active constituents in the buds of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz., and to study the chemical constituents to estimate the quality of Flos Lonicerae. Methods: Many kinds of column chromatography were used to isolate the constituents from the extracts of the buds of L. macranthoides. The chemical constituents of the plant were elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods, respectively. Conclusion: Saponins I - V, flavonoids IX and X were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the water-soluble chemical constituents of the flower buds of Lonicera macranthoides.METHODS:The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by means of chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.RESULTS:Six compounds were isolated and identified as trans-linalool-3,7-oxide-6-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside(1), secol oganoside(2), secoxyloganin(3),chlorogenic acid(4), caffeic acid(5), sucrose(6).CONCLUSION:Compound 1 is isolated from nature as a single compound for the first time, compounds 2-3 are isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Thirteen compounds were isolated from n-butanol extract of the stems of Lonicera japonica. ,and were identified as ( + )-pinoresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 1) ,diosmin ( 2) ,quercetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 3) , uridine ( 4) ,tachioside ( 5) ,caffeic acid-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 6) ,3,4-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid ( 7) ,grandifloroside ( 8) ,loganic acid ( 9) ,loganin ( 10) ,sweroside ( 11) ,inositol ( 12) ,and glucose ( 13) . Compounds 8 and 9 were isolated from this plant for the first time,while compounds 1-6 were firstly isolated from the genus Lonicera.

Abstract:Objective: To study the chemical constituents from 60% ethanol extract of Lonicerae Flos. Methods: Chromatographic methods were used for the isolation and purification. The structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Results: Six compounds were isolated from Lonicerae Flos. They were identified as demethylsecologanol-7-O-arabinoside (1), 8-epiloganic acid (2), vogeloside (3), sweroside (4), secologanoside (5), and secoxyloganin (6). Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new iridoid glycoside named secologanoside A.

Abstract:Three new minor compounds, 18-oleanene (1), lupine (2), and 12-oleanene (3) type triterpenoid saponins, along with four major known triterpenoid saponins were isolated from the buds of Lonicera macranthoides. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical analyses. 18-oleanene and lupine-type triterpenoid saponins were first isolated from this plant. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against HSC-2 cells.

Abstract:Objective To explore the medicinal values of the buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel.by analyzing its chemical constituents. Methods The buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel.were extracted with 70% ethanol,the extractives were purified with macroporous resin and isolated with silica gel and ODS column chromatography.NMR,UV,IR Spectrometers were used to obtain spectroscopic data.Results According to the single spot in TLC,five compounds were isolated from the buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel.,and their structures were identifited through physico-chemical constants and spectroscopic analysis.Five compounds were isolated from the buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel.,and they are daucosterol (Ⅰ);7S-O-methylmorroniside(Ⅱ);neohesperidin(Ⅲ);benzyl-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅳ);6'-O-β-D-apiofuranosyl sweroside (Ⅴ).Conclusion All these compounds are isolated from the buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel.for the first time.

Abstract:AIM: To investigate the chemical constituents in flower bud of Lonicera macranthoides. METHODS: The constituents were isolated and purified by means of various chromatographic methods, and spectroscopic methods were used to identify their structures. RESULTS: Eleven compounds were obtained and identified as 1-O-caffeoylquinic acid (Ⅰ), 4-O-caffeoylquinic acid(Ⅱ) 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid butyl ester (Ⅲ), quercetin(Ⅳ), tricin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅴ), quercetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅵ), luteolin-7-O-β-D-galactoside(Ⅶ), inositol(Ⅷ), β-sitosterol(Ⅸ), nonadecanol(Ⅹ) and glucose(Ⅺ). CONCLUSION: Compounds Ⅰ,Ⅱ were first isolated from Genus Lonicera, while compounds Ⅲ～Ⅺ were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate iridoid glucosides from the flower buds of Lonicera japonica Thunb.METHODS The 70% (EtOH) extract of L.japonica was successively extracted with petroleum ether,ethyl acetate and n-BuOH.The ethyl acetate fraction was subjected to silica gel and ODS column to obtain compound-centaurosiele(Ⅰ).The structure was determined by spectral analysis.RESULTS The compound was found to be the first bis-secoiridoid glucoside with a carbon-carbon double bond linkage and identified as centauroside.CONCLUSION This compound is firstly obtained from the genus Lonicera.

Abstract:Two new triterpenoid saponins named lonimacranthoide IV (1) and lonimacranthoide V (2) were isolated from the flower buds of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz. (Caprifoliaceae). They have hederagenin as aglycone. Lonimacranthoide IV (1) is a rare chlorogenic acid ester acylated on the C-23 of hederagenin. Lonimacranthoide IV is a new sulfated triterpenoid saponin. The structures of the saponins were established by chemical and spectral methods.

Abstract:AIM: Iridoid glucosides were expected to be isolated from the flower buds of Lonicera japonica Thunb.. METHOD:The 70% EtOH extract of L. japonica was successively partitioned with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and n-BuOH. The ethyl acetate fraction was subjected to silica gel column to afford the compound (1). RESULT: On the basis of the spectral analysis, the structure was confirmed as dehydromorroniside. CONCLUSION: This compound was the third morroniside type secoiridoid glucoside reported in the genus Lonicera.

Abstract:Eight new isopimarane diterpene glucosides (1-8) and one new nor-diterpene glucoside (9) were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia. The structures of the new compounds (1-9) were determined based on extensive spectroscopic analysis, including HRESIMS, and 1D and 2D NMR data. The absolute configuration of compounds la (the aglycone of 1) and 6a (the aglycone of 6) were established using X-ray crystallography, those of compounds 2, 4, and 5 were established by ECD experiments, and that of compound 9 was established using a modified Mosher method. These isopimarane diterpenes are the first isolated from the Ericaceae family. Compound 9 is the first diterpene glucoside found in nature with the novel 14,15-dinor-9,10-seco-labdane skeleton. Anti-bacterial testing showed that compounds 3 -7 have inhibitory effects against different strains at the concentration of 10(-4) moL/L. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Two new lignans, named lycojaponicumoside A (1) and B (2), together with four known compounds (3˗6) were isolated from the n-BuOH extract of Lycopodium japonicum. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods, especially various NMR techniques, HRESIMS and circular dichroism (CD). The absolute configuration of compound 1 was established by the calculation of electronic circular dichroism (ECD) curves. All of the compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against A549 and HepG2 human cancer cell lines, but those compounds did not exhibit cytotoxicity.

Abstract:One new lignan, loniceralanside A (1), together with three known compounds (2-4), were purified from Lonicerae Japonicae Flos. Their structures were determined by HR-ESI-MS, 1 D and 2 D NMR data. Compounds 2-4 were separated from the plant for the first time. The biological test showed that compound 1 had significant anti-inflammatory activity with inhibiting the release of beta-glucuronidase induced by platelet-activating factor (PAF) in rat polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) (IC50 = 3.05 mu M).

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate the chemical constituents from the ethanol extract of the stems of Lonicera japonica.METHOD:The constituents were isolated and purified by repeated column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and MCI HP-20. Their structures were identified by phsicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis.RESULT:Thirteen compounds were isolated and identified as protocatechuic acid (1), caffeic acid (2), macranthoin G (3), esculetin (4), luteolin (5), quercetin (6), apigenin (7), luteolin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (8), isorhamnetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (9), diosmetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (10), rhoifolin (11), lonicerin (12), hydnocarpin D (13).CONCLUSION:Compound 4, 7, 9-11 were isolated from this plant for the first time, while compound 13 was first reported flavanolignan from this genus Lonicera.
