Abstract:The piecewise-Koszul algebras are generalizations of classical Koszul and higher Koszul algebras. We give a criterion for a connected graded algebra A to be a piecewise-Koszul algebra in terms of an A(infinity)-algebra structure on its Koszul dual.

Abstract:We study a class of A∞-algebras, named (2,p)-algebras, which is related to the class of p-homogeneous algebras, especially to the class of p-Koszul algebras. A general method to construct (2,p)-algebras is given. Koszul dual of a connected graded algebra is defined in terms of A∞-algebra. It is proved that a p-homogeneous algebra A is p-Koszul if and only if the Koszul dual E(A) is a reduced (2,p)-algebra and generated by E1(A). The (2,p)-algebra structure of the Koszul dual E(A) of a p-Koszul algebra A is described explicitly. A necessary and sufficient condition for a p-homogeneous algebra to be a p-Koszul algebra is also given when the higher multiplications on the Koszul dual are ignored.

Abstract:We prove a version of Koszul duality and the induced derived equivalence for Adams connected -algebras that generalizes the classical Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel Koszul duality. As an immediate consequence, we give a version of the Bernšte {\uı} n-Gel'fand-Gel'fand correspondence for Adams connected -algebras.We give various applications. For example, a connected graded algebra is Artin-Schelter regular if and only if its Ext-algebra $\Ext^\ast_A (k, k) $ is Frobenius. This generalizes a result of Smith in the Koszul case. If is Koszul and if both and its Koszul dual are noetherian satisfying a polynomial identity, then is Gorenstein if and only if is. The last statement implies that a certain Calabi-Yau property is preserved under Koszul duality.

Abstract:Let A be a bi-Koszul algebra. We describe all possible A∞-algebra structures on the Ext-algebra E(A) and prove that E(A) must be [m2,m3]-finitely generated. We give an equivalent description of the condition for a connected graded algebra to be a bi-Koszul algebra in the language of A∞-algebras. We discuss decomposition in the case that E(A) is endowed with minimal number of multiplications.

Abstract:It is a small step toward the Koszul-type algebras. The piecewise-Koszul algebras are, in general, a new class of quadratic algebras but not the classical Koszul ones, simultaneously they agree with both the classical Koszul and higher Koszul algebras in special cases. We give a criteria theorem for a graded algebra $A$ to be piecewise-Koszul in terms of its Yoneda-Ext algebra $E(A)$, and show an $A_{\infty}$-structure on $E(A)$. Relations between Koszul algebras and piecewise-Koszul algebras are discussed. In particular, our results are related to the third question of Green-Marcos' [6].

Abstract:We discuss certain homological properties of graded algebras whose trivial modules admit nonpure resolutions. Such algebras include both of Artin-Schelter regular algebras of types (12221) and (13431). Under certain conditions, a module with nonpure resolution is decomposed to form an extension by two modules with pure resolutions.
Koszul Lie algebras and their subalgebras

Abstract:This paper examines (restricted) Koszul Lie algebras, a class of positively graded Lie algebras with a quadratic presentation and specific cohomological properties. The study employs HNN-extensions as a key tool for decomposing and analysing these algebras. Building on a previous work on Koszul Lie algebras ("Kurosh theorem for certain Koszul Lie algebras", S. Blumer), this paper also deals with Bloch-Kato Lie algebras, which constitute a distinguished subclass of that of Koszul Lie algebras where all subalgebras generated by elements of degree $1$ have a quadratic presentation. It is shown that Bloch-Kato Lie algebras satisfy a version of the Levi decomposition theorem and that they satisfy the Toral Rank Conjecture. Two new families of such Lie algebras are introduced, including all graded Lie algebras generated in degree $1$ and defined by two quadratic relations. Throughout the paper, we show many properties of right-angled Artin graded (RAAG) Lie algebras, which form a large class of Koszul Lie algebras.

Abstract:Let $A = \bigoplus_{i \geqslant 0} A_i$ be a graded locally finite $k$-algebra such that $A_0$ is an arbitrary finite-dimensional algebra satisfying a certain splitting condition. In this paper we develop a generalized Koszul theory preserving many classical results. Moreover, we define a quotient graded algebra $\bar{A} = \bigoplus_{i \geqslant 0} \bar{A}_i$ and show that $A$ is a generalized Koszul algebra if and only if $\bar{A}$ is a classical Koszul algebra and a projective $A_0$-module. We also describe an application of this theory to the extension algebras of standard modules of standardly stratified algebras.

Abstract:We define generalized Koszul modules and rings and develop a generalized Koszul theory for N-graded rings with the degree zero part noetherian semiperfect. This theory specializes to the classical Koszul theory for graded rings with degree zero part artinian semisimple developed by Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel and the ungraded Koszul theory for noetherian semiperfect rings developed by Green and Martinez-Villa. Let A be a left finite N-graded ring generated in degree 1 with A0 noetherian semiperfect, J be its graded Jacobson radical. By the Koszul dual of A we mean the Yoneda Ext ring Ext center dot A(A/J, A/J). If A is a generalized Koszul ring and M is a generalized Koszul module, then it is proved that the Koszul dual of the Koszul dual of A is the associated graded ring GrJ A and the Koszul dual of the Koszul dual of M is the associated graded module GrJ M. If A is a locally finite algebra, then the following statements are proved to be equivalent: A is generalized Koszul; the Koszul dual Ext center dot A(A/J, A/J) of A is (classically) Koszul; GrJ A is (classically) Koszul; the opposite ring Aop of A is generalized Koszul. Abstract:Using a homotopy introduced by de Wilde and Lecomte and homological perturbation theory for $A_\infty$-algebras, we give an explicit proof that the universal enveloping algebra $UL$ of a differential graded Lie algebra $L$ is Koszul, via an explicit contracting homotopy from the cobar construction $\Omega CL$ of the Chevalley-Eilenberg chain coalgebra $CL$ of $L$ to $UL$.

Abstract:Koszul algebras have arisen in many contexts; algebraic geometry, combinatorics, Lie algebras, non-commutative geometry and topology. The aim of this paper and several sequel papers is to show that for any finite dimensional algebra there is always a naturally associated Koszul theory. To obtain this, the notions of Koszul algebras, linear modules and Koszul duality are extended to additive (graded) categories over a field. The main focus of this paper is to provide these generalizations and the necessary preliminaries.

Abstract:We are concerned with relating derived categories of all modules of two dual Koszul algebras defined by a locally bounded quiver. We first generalize the well known Acyclic Assembly Lemma and formalize an old method of extending a functor from an additive category into a complex category to its complex category. Applying this to the Koszul functor associated with a Koszul algebra defined by a gradable quiver, we obtain a Koszul complex functor, that descends to an equivalence of a continuous family of pairs of triangulated subcategories of doubly unbounded complexes of the respective derived categories of all modules of the Koszul algebra and its Koszul dual. Under this special setting, this extends Beilinson, Ginzburg and Soegel's Koszul duality. In case the Koszul algebra is right or left locally bounded and its Koszul dual is left or right locally bounded respectively (for instance, the quiver has no right infinite path or no left infinite path), our Koszul duality restricts to an equivalence of the bounded derived categories of finitely supported modules, and an equivalence of the bounded derived categories of finite dimensional modules.

Abstract:We present an easily applicable sufficient condition for standard Koszul algebras to be Koszul with respect to $\Delta$. If a quasi-hereditary algebra $Ł$ is Koszul with respect to $\Delta$, then $Ł$ and the Yoneda extension algebra of $\Delta$ are Koszul dual in a sense explained below, implying in particular that their bounded derived categories of finitely generated graded modules are equivalent. We also prove that the extension algebra of $\Delta$ is Koszul in the classical sense.

Abstract:The main aim of this article is to discuss the piecewise-Koszul property of finitely generated modules in the nongraded case. In particular, the notion of quasi-piecewise-Koszul module, a natural extension of quasi-Koszul modules (see [2]), quasi-d-Koszul modules (see [12] or [6]) and piecewise-Koszul modules (see [7]), is introduced. Let R be a Noetherian semiperfect algebra with Jacobson radical J and M a finitely generated R-module. The structure of the graded E(R) = circle plus(i >= 0) Ext(R)(i) (R/J, R/J) module E(M) = circle plus(i >= 0) Ext(R)(i) (M, R/J) is studied in detail and some necessary and sufficient conditions for a finitely generated R-module to be quasi-piecewise-Koszul are provided. Moreover, as an application of quasi-piecewise-Koszul modules, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the minimal Horseshoe Lemma to be true in the category of quasi-piecewise-Koszul modules, which perfects Theorem 2.8 of [13] and Theorem 3.1 of [9]. Finally, some applications of the minimal Horseshoe Lemma are also given.

Abstract:We give a proof of the parabolic/singular Koszul duality for the category O of affine Kac-Moody algebras. The main new tool is a relation between moment graphs and finite codimensional affine Schubert varieties. We apply this duality to q-Schur algebras and to cyclotomic rational double affine Hecke algebras. This yields a proof of a conjecture of Chuang-Miyachi relating the level-rank duality with the Ringel-Koszul duality of cyclotomic rational double affine Hecke algebras.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a standard graded commutative algebra over a field $k$, let $K$ be its Koszul complex viewed as a differential graded $k$-algebra, and let $H$ be the homology algebra of $K$. This paper studies the interplay between homological properties of the three algebras $R$, $K$, and $H$. In particular, we introduce two definitions of Koszulness that extend the familiar property originally introduced by Priddy: one which applies to $K$ (and, more generally, to any connected differential graded $k$-algebra) and the other, called strand-Koszulness, which applies to $H$. The main theoretical result is a complete description of how these Koszul properties of $R$, $K$, and $H$ are related to each other. This result shows that strand-Koszulness of $H$ is stronger than Koszulness of $R$, and we include examples of classes of algebras which have Koszul homology algebras that are strand-Koszul.

Abstract:We study a finite dimensional quadratic graded algebra R defined from a finite ranked poset. This algebra has been central to the study of the splitting algebra of the poset, A, as introduced by Gelfand, Retakh, Serconek and Wilson . The algebra A is known to be quadratic when the poset satisfies a combinatorial condition known as uniform, and R is the quadratic dual of an associated graded algebra of A. We prove that R is Koszul and the poset is uniform if and only if the poset is Cohen-Macaulay. Koszulity of R implies Koszulity of A. We also show that when R is Koszul, the cohomology of the order complex of the poset can be identified with certain cohomology groups defined internally to the ring R. Finally, we settle in the negative the long-standing question: Does numerically Koszul imply Koszul for algebras of the form R?
