Abstract:To study particulate hazard potential due to air flow modeling which supplies air flowing from under floor to occupied zone in the under-floor air distribution system, measurements of mass concentration and numerical density for PM10 have been carried out under various conditions, including different initial concentration levels, different dust deposition density levels on the floor, several different air exchange rates and with or without human activities. Measurements show that the initial indoor concentration levels of the dust and the accumulated dust density levels on the floor are not obviously affected since the indoor concentration level tends to be stable. However, particle concentration decreases with the increasing of air exchange rates. And the number of particles, especially bigger particles ;significantly increases with human activities. It shows that the inhalable particles over 1 mu m are easy to be resuspended under the condition of under-floor air supply distribution. This study is beneficial to further research on the mechanism and methods of controlling particle concentration level.
