Abstract:Regenerated pulping wastewater has characteristics such as high colority, poor biodegradability, and great difficulty in treatment.By applying the coagulation-A/O-coagulation process in a paper mill in Chongqing, with the daily treatment capacity of pulping wastewater reaching 4 × 104 m3,water qualities of infiuent and effluent in different processing units were analyzed to explore approaches to degrade pollutants. The infrared spectrum analysis results showed that:the pulping wastewater compositions were complicated, with key primary organic contaminants such as phenols, esters, aldehydes, alkynes and aromatic compounds.Through the pre-coagulation and A/O process, the total removal rate of COD and TOC were 96.5% and 97.5%,respectively.The sharing rate of COD removal of the two processes was 67.2% and 21.8%,respectively,and that of TOC was 72.7% and 13.4%,respectively.The color was mainly removed through the pre-coagulation and post-coagulation,with a total removal rate of 98.5%,and the sharing rate of the two processing was 79.2% and 16.8%,respectively.The GC/ MS analysis indicated that:23 and 12 kinds of organic pollutants existed in the effluents of the A/O and post-coagulation process, respectively,in which 2,4-bis (1,1-dimethylethyl)-phenol and 2-methyldecane had the maximum relative contents, respectively. In addition, the wastewater alkalinity and total hardness were effectively removed by the post-coagulation process, with the removal rates of 87.0% and 80.8%,respectively.
