Application of scenario simulation in the teaching of inquiry and medical history writing

Abstract:Objective To estimate the application effect of scenario simulation in the teaching of inquiry and medical history writing.Methods Fifty-five clinical medicine students (2009 grade) were divided into tradition group and scenario simulation group randomly.Students in traditional group were taught by theoretic lessons in classroom and then took the clinical internship while students in scenario simulation group were taught by theoretic lessons in classroom,did scenario simulation of inquiry then took the clinical internship.Evaluation of students on scenario simulation teaching was investigated by questionnaire and medical history scores of two groups' students were compared.Data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 software and t test was used to do comparison between groups.Results All students were interested in scenario simulation teaching and thought it was helpful for medical internship and can increase the abilities of studying,communicating and cooperating,et al.Scores of medical history in scenario simulation group were higher than those in traditional group (t=2.04,P=0.046).Conclusions Scenario simulation method is effective in teaching of inquiry and medical history writing,which helps students to transit from benchside to bedside.
