Abstract:Objective To explore the optimized model of bilingual teaching in the medical undergraduates' clinical practice of internal medicine in China.Methods First,a systemic bilingual teaching mode in internal clinical practice was established(named model A),then the model A and current bilingual teaching mode in internal practice(named model B) were used in the clinical practice of medical students from two grades.When clinical practice was finished,teaching effect was evaluated by written examination,oral test and questionnaire.Results The mean scores of written examination and oral test of students in group A were 75.50±5.61 and 79.95±7.15,which were higher than those of group B(P0.05).The results of questionnaire indicated that the mastery degree of professional knowledge of the two groups had no significant difference(P=0.69);but the mastery degree of medical English of group A was higher than that of group B(P=0.002).About 42.5% of the students in group A held that model A could train and improve the students' capability of thinking with English,which was significantly higher than that of group B(16.4%).Conclusions In the current teaching environment,the systemic bilingual teaching mode is an effective mode for internal clinical practice,which can greatly improve the students' medical English level and capability of thinking with English.
