However, there are several limitations that may affect the results. First, in the study, the authors reported that gonioscopy and image analysis using ImageJ was all conducted by a single researcher. These 2 measurements, however, both can be influenced by observers' subjectivity. To reduce influence from observers' subjectivity, we have to repeat measurement by a second or even a third observer, and take their mean value as the final data. In this situation, it is hard to measure the TCA because one cannot define the boundary of superior surface of ciliary process. Third, in the discussion, the percentage of intraocular pressure reduction was significantly lower in the cluster with a smaller TCA, suggesting that laser peripheral iridotomy is less effective in this group of eyes. Actually, TCA in this study was measured after laser peripheral iridotomy. A change in TCA may be caused by laser peripheral iridotomy. However, examinations can also be influenced by interexaminer variability if multiple examiners perform the analysis. Lin et al2 reported that interexaminer measurements related to the ciliary process were variable and recommended that measurement should be performed by the same observer. Hence, both approaches have pros and cons. Our previous study showed excellent intraexaminer intraclass correlation coefficient values between 0.933 and 0.951 using anterior segment OCT images.
