Abstract:Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) with an in-situ heat treatment was adopted to fabricate hydroxyapatite/bioglass/wollastonite composite bioactive films, and the properties of the films were investigated by SEM, EDS, XRD, FTIR, scratch test and in vivo test. The PLD process at 600 degrees C with an in-situ heat treatment at 800 degrees C for 1 h promotes the precipitation of nano acicular structure, induces the c-axis oriented growth of HA and causes the crystallization of CaSiO3, consequently affects the tissue response to the films in physiological environment. The in vivo test indicates that the 600 degrees C + 800 degrees C film exhibits satisfactory osseointegration ability, and can be used as a potential candidate for bone implants.
