Abstract:We show that every gradient shrinking soliton of the generalized Ricci flow on compact manifold is a Ricci soliton. And we prove that the pluriclosed soliton is gradient Kahler-Ricci soliton under a broad cohomological condition. Moreover, we construct the first example of non-trivial shrinking generalized soliton, which can serve as a singularity model of the generalized Ricci flow.

Abstract:Given an asymptotically conical, shrinking, gradient Ricci soliton, we show that there exists a Ricci flow solution on a closed manifold that forms a finite-time singularity modeled on the given soliton. No symmetry or Kahler assumptions on the soliton are required. The proof provides a precise asymptotic description of the singularity formation.

Abstract:Suppose $(M^n, g, f)$ is a complete shrinking gradient Ricci soliton. We give several rigidity results under some natural conditions, generalizing the results in \cite{Petersen-Wylie,Guan-Lu-Xu}. Using maximum principle, we prove that shrinking gradient Ricci soliton with constant scalar curvature $R=1$ is isometric to a finite quotient of $\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{S}^2$, giving a new proof of the main results of Cheng-Zhou \cite{Cheng-Zhou}.

Abstract:We consider the volume-normalized Ricci flow close to compact shrinking Ricci solitons. We show that if a compact Ricci soliton $(M,g)$ is a local maximum of Perelman's shrinker entropy, any normalized Ricci flow starting close to it exists for all time and converges towards a Ricci soliton. If $g$ is not a local maximum of the shrinker entropy, we show that there exists a nontrivial normalized Ricci flow emerging from it. These theorems are analogues of results in the Ricci-flat and in the Einstein case.

Abstract:We use Lott's functional and construct a new functional to derive rigidity results for invariant Ricci flow blowdown limits on nilpotent principal bundles with zero associated curvature. Consequently, we prove that the blowdown limit is locally an expanding Ricci soliton when the structure group is the three dimensional Heisenberg group. In addition, we classify this soliton when the base manifold is one dimensional. This, together with Lott's work in the abelian setting, yields a complete local classification of invariant Ricci flow blowdown limits on four dimensional, nilpotent principal bundles.

Abstract:A noncollapsed $\mathbb{F}$-limit metric soliton is a self-similar singularity model that inevitably arises when studying the Ricci flow with the tool of $\mathbb{F}$-convergence [Bam20a,Bam20b,Bam20c]. In this article, we shall present a systematic study of the noncollapsed $\mathbb{F}$-limit metric soliton, and show that, apart from the known results in [Bam20c], it satisfies many properties of smooth Ricci shrinkers. In particular, we show a quadratic lower bound for the scalar curvature, a local gap theorem, a global Sobolev inequality, and an optimal volume growth lower bound.

Abstract:It is shown that the diameter of a compact shrinking Ricci soliton has a universal lower bound. This is proved by extending universal estimates for the first non-zero eigenvalue of Laplacian on compact Riemannian manifolds with lower Ricci curvature bound to a twisted Laplacian on compact shrinking Ricci solitons.

Abstract:The second author and H. Yin have developed a Ricci flow existence theory that gives a complete Ricci flow starting with a surface equipped with a conformal structure and a nonatomic Radon measure as a conformal factor. This led to the discovery of a large array of new expanding Ricci solitons. In this paper we use the recent uniqueness theory in this context, also developed by the second author and H. Yin, to give a complete classification of all expanding Ricci solitons on surfaces. Along the way, we prove a converse to the existence theory that is not constrained to solitons: every complete Ricci flow on a surface over a time interval $(0,\varepsilon)$ admits a $t\downarrow 0$ limit within the class of admissible initial data. This makes surfaces the first nontrivial setting for Ricci flow in which a bijection can be given between the entire set of complete Ricci flows over maximal time intervals $(0,T)$, and a class of initial data that induces them.

Abstract:We develop a framework inspired by Lauret's "bracket flow" to study the generalized Ricci flow, as introduced by Streets, on discrete quotients of Lie groups. As a first application, we establish global existence on solvmanifolds in arbitrary dimensions, a result which is new even for the pluriclosed flow. We also define a notion of generalized Ricci soliton on exact Courant algebroids that is geometrically meaningful and allows for non-trivial expanding examples. On nilmanifolds, we show that these solitons arise as rescaled limits of the generalized Ricci flow, provided the initial metrics have "harmonic torsion", and we classify them in low dimensions. Finally, we provide a new formula for the generalized Ricci curvature of invariant generalized metrics in terms of a moment map for the action of a non-reductive real Lie group.

Abstract:Let $(M, g, f)$ be a $5$-dimensional complete noncompact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton with the equation $Ric+\nabla^2f= \lambda g$, where $\text{Ric}$ is the Ricci tensor and $\nabla^2f$ is the Hessian of the potential function $f$. We prove that it is a finite quotient of $\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{S}^3$ if $M$ has constant scalar curvature $R=3 \lambda$.

Abstract:In this paper, we continue to study the generalized Ricci flow. We give a criterion on steady gradient Ricci soliton on complete and noncompact Riemannian manifolds that is Ricci-flat, and then introduce a natural flow whose stable points are Ricci-flat metrics. Modifying the argument used by Shi and List, we prove the short time existence and higher order derivatives estimates.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that any complete m-dimensional spacelike self-shrinkers in pseudo-Euclidean spaces Rnm+n must be affine planes, and there exists no complete m-dimensional spacelike translating soliton in Rnm+n. These results are proved by using a new Omori–Yau maximal principle. We also derive a rigidity theorem of self-shrinking hypersurfaces in Euclidean space with Gauss image lies in a regular ball.

Abstract:We establish the existence of two 3-parameter families of non-Einstein, non-shrinking Ricci solitons: one on $\mathbb{H}^{m+1}$ and one on $\mathbb{HP}^{m+1}\backslash\{*\}$. Each family includes a continuous 1-parameter subfamily of asymptotically paraboloidal (non-collapsed) steady Ricci solitons, with the Jensen sphere as the base. Additionally, we extend this result by proving the existence of a 2-parameter family on $\mathbb{O}^2$, which contains a 1-parameter subfamily of asymptotically paraboloidal steady Ricci solitons based on the Bourguignon--Karcher sphere.

Abstract:In this paper, we continue investigating the second variation of Perelman's -entropy for compact shrinking Ricci solitons. In particular, we improve some of our previous work in Cao and Zhu (Math Ann 353(3):747–763, 2012), as well as the more recent work in Mehrmohamadi and Razavi (arXiv:2104.08343, 2021), and obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a compact shrinking Ricci soliton to be linearly stable. Our work also extends similar results of Hamilton, Ilmanen and the first author in Cao et al. (arXiv:math.DG/0404165, 2004) (see also Cao and He in J Reine Angew Math, 2015:229–246, 2015) for positive Einstein manifolds to the compact shrinking Ricci soliton case.

Abstract:The investigation of Ricci solitons is the focus of this work. We have proved triviality results for compact gradient Ricci soliton under certain restriction. Later, a rigidity result is derived for a compact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton. Also, we have estimated the conjugate radius for non-compact gradient shrinking Ricci solitons with superharmonic potential. Moreover, an upper bound for the conjugate radius of Ricci soliton with concircular potential vector field is determined. Finally, it is proved that a non-compact gradient Ricci soliton with a pole and non-negative Ricci curvature is non-shrinking.
