Abstract:This paper describes the main features of SEU_T 2005 robot simulation soccer team. After a brief introduction of SEU_T 2004, the main contributions of SEU_T 2005 were presented. They are: hybrid agent architecture, transactions in action sending, compound kick, and heterogeneous agent selection. Finally, we describe our future study directions.

Abstract:The key skills and algorithms of soccer simulation team ZJUBase are proposed. To improve the decision-making ability in complex, noisy and dynamic environment such as in soccer games, the layered decision-making architecture is applied and the methods and key points of maintaining the world model and the skills of players are presented. The team formation, roles and the novel idea of cooperative teammates set (CTS) are also introduced to reduce the complexity of the problem-solving work. Through the CTS of each player and on-line greedily searching, the players will cooperate to win the game.

Abstract:ZJUNlict became the Small Size League Champion of RoboCup 2019 with 6 victories and 1 tie for their 7 games. The overwhelming ability of ball-handling and passing allows ZJUNlict to greatly threaten its opponent and almost kept its goal clear without being threatened. This paper presents the core technology of its ball-handling and robot movement which consist of hardware optimization, dynamic passing and shooting strategy, and multi-agent cooperation and formation. We first describe the mechanical optimization on the placement of the capacitors, the redesign of the damping system of the dribbler and the electrical optimization on the replacement of the core chip. We then describe our passing point algorithm. The passing and shooting strategy can be separated into two different parts, where we search the passing point on SBIP-DPPS and evaluate the point based on the ball model. The statements and the conclusion should be supported by the performances and log of games on Small Size League RoboCup 2019.

Abstract:Decision-making subsystem is the most important part for the soccer robot that influences the result the robot soccer competition significantly. A three-layered decision-making mechanism was first proposed for the single autonomous robot. And then, based on this structure, cooperation module that negotiates among the robots of entire team was introduced. With variable learning modules were included in different layers, the proposed decision-making subsystem shows good learning capacity and, therefore, can adapt it to the evolution of the environment easily.

Abstract:The Small Size League is one of the important events in RoboCup Soccer. ZJUNlict got the first place in RoboCup 2018. Abstract:For the Small Size League of RoboCup 2018, Team ZJUNLict has won the champion and therefore, this paper thoroughly described the devotion which ZJUNLict has devoted and the effort that ZJUNLict has contributed. There are three mean optimizations for the mechanical part which accounted for most of our incredible goals, they are "Touching Point Optimization", "Damping System Optimization", and "Dribbler Optimization". For the electrical part, we realized "Direct Torque Control", "Efficient Radio Communication Protocol" which will be credited for stabilizing the dribbler and a more secure communication between robots and the computer. Our software group contributed as much as our hardware group with the effort of "Vision Lost Compensation" to predict the movement by kalman filter, and "Interception Prediction Algorithm" to achieve some skills and improve our ball possession rate.

Abstract:The Small Size League is one of the important events in RoboCup Soccer. ZJUNlict got the first place in Robocup 2014. In this paper, we introduce the improvement we have made in the past year. We describe the overview of the mechanical design, show the design of the protector for Infrared emission tube as well as the shield for wheels. Simulation is given to show how our design works. Then the lower level firmware architecture is illustrated. The dynamics analysis of the robot is presented to help improving the robots' performance and reducing motion deviation in y axis. Finally we present how we organize defense employing Close-Marking defense along with Zone defense imitating human player.

Abstract:Our team TsinghuaHephaestus was established in 2003 as a part of the Lab for Robot Intelligent Control, Department of Automation, Tsinghua University. With the research interests on robotics and artificial intelligence, our software for robot soccer was developed on Aibo ERS-210A, in which many basic skills were learned from other teams. In November 2004, we bought Aibo ERS-7 and started to work on the new version of our software. The whole system was restructured and most of the modules were rewritten. We participated in RoboCup 2005 in Osaka, Japan. As a new team, we have got many things during our first entrance to the international arena, including state-of-the-art of various technical fields, management skills for a successful team and the understanding of the game itself. The rest of this report describes the approaches we used in the 2005 competition in detail, which is organized as follows. Section 2 illustrates the structure of the system. Section 3, 4 and 5 focuses on the implementation of vision, localization and motion modules. Section 6 introduces the routine and basic behaviors used to make decisions. The last section gives a summary of our experiences in Osaka and discusses the future development of our team.

Abstract:TsinghuAeolus is the champion team for the latest two RoboCup simulation league competitions. While our binary and nearly full source code for RoboCup 2001 had been publicly available for the entire year, we won the champion again in Fukuka, with more obvious advantage. This paper describes the key innovations that bring this improvement. They include an advice-taking mechanism which aims to improve agents' adaptability, a compact and effective option scoring policy which is crucial in the option-evaluation framework, and thorough analysis of interception problem which leads to more intelligent interception skill. Although not strongly interrelated, these innovations come together to form a set of solutions for problems across different levels.

Abstract:The FC Portugal 3D team is developed upon the structure of our previous Simulation league 2D/3D teams and our standard platform league team. Our research concerning the robot low-level skills is focused on developing behaviors that may be applied on real robots with minimal adaptation using model-based approaches. Our research on high-level soccer coordination methodologies and team playing is mainly focused on the adaptation of previously developed methodologies from our 2D soccer teams to the 3D humanoid environment and on creating new coordination methodologies based on the previously developed ones. The research-oriented development of our team has been pushing it to be one of the most competitive over the years (World champion in 2000 and Coach Champion in 2002, European champion in 2000 and 2001, Coach 2nd place in 2003 and 2004, European champion in Rescue Simulation and Simulation 3D in 2006, World Champion in Simulation 3D in Bremen 2006 and European champion in 2007, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015). This paper describes some of the main innovations of our 3D simulation league team during the last years. A new generic framework for reinforcement learning tasks has also been developed. The current research is focused on improving the above-mentioned framework by developing new learning algorithms to optimize low-level skills, such as running and sprinting. We are also trying to increase student contact by providing reinforcement learning assignments to be completed using our new framework, which exposes a simple interface without sharing low-level implementation details.

Abstract:The Tsinghua Robot Soccer Team was designed to meet the requirements of the robot soccer games for the Robot World Cup Tournament (RoboCup). A method is presented for constructing individual skill layers and decision-making layers according to intelligent levels. The research work includes the structural design of the robots, the implementation of individual skills through multi-layer BP neural networks, and the application of priority algorithms to achieve cooperation between robots as well as competition between each other. The Tsinghua Robot Soccer Team succeeded in the Chinese RoboCup2000 Tournament. This paper provides information for other researchers to develop robot soccer teams.

Abstract:In order to fulfill the requirements for rapid evaluating of competitive robot(Tele-LightSaber,TLS) system's competitive algorithms and visual servo control,a simulation system for the competitive robot system is designed and implemented based on TLS experimental platform and its operating characteristics,as well as the concept of harmonious distribution of human-computer intelligence.Through system configuration and off-line programming,the simulation system reproduces experimental data and performs error analysis.The results show that the competitive robot simulation system can simulate the actual system,and provide a pre-experimental verification platform for TLS system.

Abstract:This paper presents the concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Agent-Systems, Coordination, Intelligent Robotics and Deep Reinforcement Learning. Emphasis is given on and how AI and DRL, may be efficiently used to create efficient robot skills and coordinated robotic teams, capable of performing very complex actions and tasks, such as playing a game of soccer. The paper also presents the concept of robotic soccer and the vision and structure of the RoboCup initiative with emphasis on the Humanoid Simulation 3D league and the new challenges this competition, poses. The final topics presented at the paper are based on the research developed/coordinated by the author throughout the last 22 years in the context of the FCPortugal project. The paper presents a short description of the coordination methodologies developed, such as: Strategy, Tactics, Formations, Setplays, and Coaching Languages and the use of Machine Learning to optimize the use of this concepts. The topics presented also include novel stochastic search algorithms for black box optimization and their use in the optimization of omnidirectional walking skills, robotic multi-agent learning and the creation of a humanoid kick with controlled distance. Finally, new applications using variations of the Proximal Policy Optimization algorithm and advanced modelling for robot and multi-robot learning are briefly explained with emphasis for our new humanoid sprinting and running skills and an amazing humanoid robot soccer dribbling skill. FCPortugal project enabled us to publish more than 100 papers and win several competitions in different leagues and many scientific awards at RoboCup. In total, our team won more than 40 awards in international competitions including a clear victory at the Simulation 3D League at RoboCup 2022 competition, scoring 84 goals and conceding only 2.

Abstract:RoboCup SSL is an excellent platform for researching artificial intelligence and robotics. The dribbling system is an essential issue, which is the main part for completing advanced soccer skills such as trapping and dribbling. In this paper, we designed a new dribbling system for SSL robots, including mechatronics design and control algorithms. For the mechatronics design, we analysed and exposed the 3-touch-point model with the simulation in ADAMS. In the motor controller algorithm, we use reinforcement learning to control the torque output. Finally we verified the results on the robot.

Abstract:Soccer Simulation 2D League is one of the major leagues of RoboCup competitions. In a Soccer Simulation 2D (SS2D) game, two teams of 11 players and one coach compete against each other. The players are only allowed to communicate with the server that is called Soccer Simulation Server. This paper introduces the previous and current research of the CYRUS soccer simulation team, the champion of RoboCup 2021. We will present our idea about improving Unmarking Decisioning and Positioning by using Pass Prediction Deep Neural Network. Based on our experimental results, this idea proven to be effective on increasing the winning rate of Cyrus against opponents.
