Abstract:It is well-known that a KAM torus can be considered as a graph of smooth viscosity solution. Salamon and Zehnder (Comment Math Helv 64:84–132, 1989) have proved that there exist invariant tori having prescribed Diophantine frequencies for nearly integrable and positively definite Lagrangian systems with associated Hamiltonian H , whose Diophantine index is τ . If the invariant torus is represented as 𝒢=⋃_x∈𝕋^n(x,P_0+Dv(x,P_0)) in the cotangent bundle T^*𝕋^n , then we can show that for any viscosity solution u ( x , P ), which satisfies the H-J Eq. (1.1), Du(x,P)-Dv(x,P_0)_∞≤ CP-P_0^1/τ+1, when P-P_0 is small enough.

Abstract: Eliasson and Kuksin developed a KAM approach to study the persistence of the invariant tori for nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation on $\mathbb{T}^{d}$. In this note, we improve Eliasson and Kuksin's KAM theorem by using Kolmogorov's iterative scheme and obtain a local normal form for the transformed Hamiltonian. As a consequence, we are able to derive the time $\delta^{-1}$ stability of the obtained KAM tori.

Abstract:We establish an abstract infinite dimensional KAM theorem dealing with unbounded perturbation vector-field, which could be applied to a large class of Hamiltonian PDEs containing the derivative ∂ x in the perturbation. Especially, in this range of application lie a class of derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions and perturbed Benjamin-Ono equation with periodic boundary conditions, so KAM tori and thus quasi-periodic solutions are obtained for them.

Abstract:The existence of lower dimensional KAM tori is shown for a class of nearly integrable Hamiltonian systems where the second Melnikov's conditions are eliminated. As a consequence, it is proved that there exist many invariant tori and thus quasi-periodic solutions for nonlinear wave equations, Schr\"odinger equations and other equations of higher spatial dimension.

Abstract:First, we provide a necessary and sufficient condition of the existence of viscosity solutions of the nonlinear first order PDEF(x,u,Du)=0,x∈M, under which we prove the compactness of the set of all viscosity solutions. Here, F(x,u,p) satisfies Tonelli conditions with respect to the argument p and −λ≤∂F∂u<0 for some λ>0, and M is a compact manifold without boundary. Second, we study the long time behavior of viscosity solutions of the Cauchy problem forwt+F(x,w,wx)=0,(x,t)∈M×(0,+∞), from the weak KAM point of view. The dynamical methods developed in [13], [14], [15] play an essential role in this paper.

Abstract:In this paper we reformulate a formal KAM theorem for Hamiltonian systems with parameters under Bruno-Rüssmann condition. The proof is based on KAM iteration and the key is to adjust the parameters for small divisors after KAM iteration instead of in each KAM step. By this formal KAM theorem we can follow some well known KAM-type results for hyperbolic tori. Moreover, it can also be applied to the persistence of invariant tori with prescribed frequencies.

Abstract:Mather theory studies the existence of various kinds of the action minimizing sets and the connecting orbits between these sets in higher-dimensional positive Lagrangian system.The work about the connecting orbits plays an important role in the study of Arnold diffusion.By studying the dynamical behavior of the action-minimizing curves for Tonelli Lagrangian systems,weak KAM theory founded by A.Fathi bridges Mather theory and the PDE methods concerning the associated Hamilton-Jacobi equation.However,because the convergence of the Lax-Oleinik semigroup which is critical in KAM theory does not hold in time-periodic Lagrangian system,the preliminary work about weak KAM theory focused on autonomous system.By introducing a new kind of Lax-Oleinik type operator,it is possible for us to build weak KAM theory in the time-periodic Lagrangian system and generalize the theory to more general Hamilton-Jacobi equation.In this paper,we introduce the basic knowledge of weak KAM theory and its latest development.
