Abstract:In this paper, a super extension of Sawada–Kotera hierarchy is proposed. This hierarchy is derived by considering a third order Lax operator with a weakly nonlocal term. Bi-Hamiltonian structure is constructed for the super Sawada–Kotera hierarchy.

Abstract:We obtain the bi-Hamiltonian structure of the super KP hierarchy based on the even super KP operator $\Lambda = \theta^{2} + \sum^{\infty}_{i=-2}U_{i} \theta^{-i-1}$, as a supersymmetric extension of the ordinary KP bi-Hamiltonian structure. It is expected to give rise to a universal super $W$-algebra incorporating all known extended superconformal $W_{N}$ algebras by reduction. We also construct the super BKP hierarchy by imposing a set of anti-self-dual constraints on the super KP hierarchy.

Abstract:We consider a certain super extension, called the super tau-cover, of a bihamiltonian integrable hierarchy which contains the Hamiltonian structures including both the local and non-local ones as odd flows. In particular, we construct the super tau-cover of the principal hierarchy associated with an arbitrary Frobenius manifold, and the super tau-cover of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) hierarchy. We also show that the Virasoro symmetries of these bihamiltonan integrable hierarchies can be extended to symmetries of the associated super tau-covers.
A KP-mKP Hierarchy via Operators with Two Derivations

Abstract:By using pseudo-differential operators containing two derivations, we extend the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy to a certain KP-mKP hierarchy. For the KP-mKP hierarchy, we obtain its Bäcklund transformations, bilinear equations of Baker-Akhiezer functions and Hirota equations of tau functions. Moreover, we show that this hierarchy is equivalent to a subhierarchy of the dispersive Whitham hierarchy associated to the Riemann sphere with its infinity point and one movable point marked.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a super Korteweg-de Vries (sKdV) equation proposed by Kupershmidt which possesses a Lax operator with three fully nonlocal terms. The Lax operator is reformulated so that it is of the super constrained modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (scmKP) type. By calculating the bi-Hamiltonian structure of the scmKP hierarchy and employing Dirac reduction, we obtain the bi-Hamiltonian structure of the sKdV equation. We also present a spectral problem of its modified system.

Abstract:A linear eigenvalue problem is constructed for the gradients of the eigenvalue of the Wadati-Konno-Ichikawa (WKI) spectral problem. This in turn leads to a compatible pair of Hamiltonian operators, which endows the WKI hierarchy with a bi-Hamiltonian structure. Furthermore, a proper recombination of these two Hamiltonian operators, or the duality of this bi-Hamiltonian structure, generates a coupled system of Camassa-Holm type, which is nothing but a system proposed by Song, Qu, and Qiao [J. Math. Phys. 52, 013503 (2011)]10.1063/1.3530865 recently.

Abstract:Starting from a discrete spectral problem, we derive a hierarchy of nonlinear discrete equations which includes the Ablowitz–Ladik hierarchy and a new hierarchy as special cases. Especially, we investigate in detail the integrability and resolvability of the new hierarchy. It is shown that the new hierarchy is integrable in Liouville’s sense and possesses multi-Hamiltonian structure. A Darboux transformation is established for a typical discrete system in the new hierarchy with the help of the gauge transformation of its Lax pair. As applications of the Darboux transformation, new exact solutions of the discrete system are explicitly given.

Abstract:By principal representation of toroidal Lie algebra , we construct an integrable system: Bogoyavlensky–modified KdV (B–mKdV) hierarchy, which is -dimensional generalization of modified KdV hierarchy. Firstly, bilinear equations of B–mKdV hierarchy are obtained by fermionic representation of and boson–fermion correspondence, which are rewritten into Hirota bilinear forms. Also Fay-like identities of B–mKdV hierarchy are derived. Then from B–mKdV bilinear equations, we investigate Lax structure, which is another equivalent formulation of B–mKdV hierarchy. Conversely, we also derive B–mKdV bilinear equations from Lax structure. Other equivalent formulations of wave functions and dressing operator are needed when discussing bilinear equations and Lax structure. After that, Miura links between Bogoyavlensky–KdV hierarchy and B–mKdV hierarchy are discussed. Finally, we construct soliton solutions of B–mKdV hierarchy.

Abstract:Using construction of logarithm of a difference operator, we present the Lax pair formalism for certain extension of the continuous version of the classical Toda lattice hierarchy, provide a well defined notion of tau function for its solutions, and give an explicit formulation of the relationship between the CP1 topological sigma model and the extended Toda hierarchy. We also establish an equivalence of the latter with certain extension of the nonlinear Schrodinger hierarchy.

Abstract:On the basis of a specific matrix Lie algebra, we propose a Kaup–Newell-type matrix eigenvalue problem with four potentials and compute an associated soliton hierarchy within the zero-curvature formulation. A hereditary recursion operator and a bi-Hamiltonian structure are presented to show the Liouville integrability of the resulting soliton hierarchy. An illustrative example is a novel model consisting of combined derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations with two arbitrary constants.

Abstract:For the Harry Dym hierarchy, a non-standard Lax formulation is deduced from that of Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation through a reciprocal transformation. By supersymmetrizing this Lax operator, a new N=2 supersymmetric extension of the Harry Dym hierarchy is constructed, and is further shown to be linked to one of the N=2 supersymmetric KdV equations through superconformal transformation. The bosonic limit of this new N=2 supersymmetric Harry Dym equation is related to a coupled system of KdV-MKdV equations.

Abstract:Bigraded Toda hierarchy $L_1^M(n)=L_2^N(n)$ is generalized to $L_1^M(n)=L_2^{N}(n)+\sum_{j\in \mathbb Z}\sum_{i=1}^{m}q^{(i)}_n\Lambda^jr^{(i)}_{n+1}$, which is the analogue of the famous constrained KP hierarchy $L^{k}= (L^{k})_{\geq0}+\sum_{i=1}^{m}q_{i}\partial^{-1}r_i$. It is known that different bosonizations of fermionic KP hierarchy will give rise to different kinds of integrable hierarchies. Starting from the fermionic form of constrained KP hierarchy, bilinear equation of this generalized bigraded Toda hierarchy (GBTH) are derived by using 2--component boson--fermion correspondence. Next based upon this, the Lax structure of GBTH is obtained. Conversely, we also derive bilinear equation of GBTH from the corresponding Lax structure.

Lax structure and tau function for large BKP hierarchy

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly investigate Lax structure and tau function for the large BKP hierarchy, which is also known as Toda hierarchy of B type, or Hirota--Ohta--coupled KP hierarchy, or Pfaff lattice. Firstly, the large BKP hierarchy can be derived from fermionic BKP hierarchy by using a special bosonization, which is presented in the form of bilinear equation. Then from bilinear equation, the corresponding Lax equation is given, where in particular the relation of flow generator with Lax operator is obtained. Also starting from Lax equation, the corresponding bilinear equation and existence of tau function are discussed. After that, large BKP hierarchy is viewed as sub--hierarchy of modified Toda (mToda) hierarchy, also called two--component first modified KP hierarchy. Finally by using two basic Miura transformations from mToda to Toda, we understand two typical relations between large BKP tau function $\tau_n(\mathbf{t})$ and Toda tau function $\tau_n^{\rm Toda}(\mathbf{t},-\mathbf{t})$, that is, $\tau_n^{\rm Toda}(\mathbf{t},-{\mathbf{t}})=\tau_n(\mathbf{t})\tau_{n-1}(\mathbf{t})$ and $\tau_n^{\rm Toda}(\mathbf{t},-{\mathbf{t}})=\tau_n^2(\mathbf{t})$. Further we find $\big(\tau_n(\mathbf{t})\tau_{n-1}(\mathbf{t}),\tau_n^2(\mathbf{t})\big)$ satisfies bilinear equation of mToda hierarchy.

Abstract:We devise a new simple loop algebra G̃M and an isospectral problem. By making use of the Tu scheme, the multicomponent generalized Kaup–Newell hierarchy is obtained. Furthermore, an expanding loop algebra F̃M of the loop algebra G̃M is presented. Based on F̃M, the multicomponent integrable couplings system with two arbitrary functions of the multicomponent generalized Kaup–Newell hierarchy are worked out. The method can be applied to other nonlinear evolution equations hierarchy.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the solutions of the full Kostant–Toda (f-KT) hierarchy in the Hessenberg form and their reductions to the l -banded Kostant–Toda ( l -KT) hierarchies for 1 ⩽ l ⩽ n , where the case with l = 1 is the classical tridiagonal Toda hierarchy and the case with l = n is the f-KT hierarchy. Based on the Hessenberg form of the f-KT hierarchy, we study the f-KT hierarchy and the corresponding l -KT hierarchies on simple Lie algebras of type A , B and G as the root space reductions with proper choices of Chevalley systems. Explicit formulas of the polynomial solutions for the τ-functions are also given in terms of the Schur functions and Schur's Q-functions.

Abstract:A method is proposed in this paper to construct a new extended q-deformed KP ($q$-KP) hiearchy and its Lax representation. This new extended $q$-KP hierarchy contains two types of q-deformed KP equation with self-consistent sources, and its two kinds of reductions give the q-deformed Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy with self-consistent sources and the constrained q-deformed KP hierarchy, which include two types of q-deformed KdV equation with sources and two types of q-deformed Boussinesq equation with sources. All of these results reduce to the classical ones when $q$ goes to 1. This provides a general way to construct (2+1)- and (1+1)-dimensional q-deformed soliton equations with sources and their Lax representations.

Abstract:Tensor hierarchy algebras constitute a class of non-contragredient Lie superalgebras, whose finite-dimensional members are the "Cartan-type" Lie superalgebras in Kac's classification. They have applications in mathematical physics, especially in extended geometry and gauged supergravity. We further develop the recently proposed definition of tensor hierarchy algebras in terms of generators and relations encoded in a Dynkin diagram (which coincides with the diagram for a related Borcherds superalgebra). We apply it to cases where a grey node is added to the Dynkin diagram of a rank $r+1$ Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}^+$, which in turn is an extension of a rank $r$ finite-dimensional semisimple simply laced Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. The algebras are specified by $\mathfrak{g}$ together with a dominant integral weight $\lambda$. As a by-product, a remarkable identity involving representation matrices for arbitrary integral highest weight representations of $\mathfrak{g}$ is proven. An accompanying paper describes the application of tensor hierarchy algebras to the gauge structure and dynamics in models of extended geometry.
