Abstract:Architecture has the properties of general medium, a tool used to expand and extend the transmission of information in the process of inserting propagation. From the perspective of medium, the information which is spread by architecture can be divided into three levels that includes readable, selected-read and must-read. This essay discusses how to enhance the medium of architecture by remodeling the place in term of three kind of information (readable, selected-read and must-read) through the analysis of specific cases, which provides the reference for the architectural design.

Abstract:Aiming at "the cognition about architecture in contemporary society is based on the indirect propagation of mass media rather than direct observation", this article interprets the conception of simulacra, and the relation with media and image from the view point of Jean Baudrillard's simulacra theory, analyses the transformation of simulacra in different social stages by the development of media and the succession of image in present stage, and studies the relation between simulacra, image and reality of architecture. It proposes that in contemporary society the image of architecture has diverse differences with the reality and even completely become unreal simulacra, which replaces the reality as "the real architecture" recognized by the public.

Abstract:Studying the architecture criticism from the communication angle, this paper brings forward the communication viewpoint of architecture criticism. One emphasis is focused on the decisive function for the public to cognize architectural culture from Pseudo-Environment created by architecture criticism. On the other hand, the process of architecture criticism is classified into two steps: producing and spreading, according to communication. They are supplements to each other and have a dialectic relationship. Today, as mass communication becomes a dominant factor in the world, the viewpoint basing on communication will clue clearly on the study and practice of public architecture criticism.

Abstract:In the present study, we express the quality, function, and characteristics of architecture to help people comprehensively understand what architecture is. We also reveal the problems and conflict found in population, land, water resources, pollution, energy, and the organization systems in construction. China's economy is transforming. We should focus on the cities, architectural environment, energy conservation, emission-reduction, and low-carbon output that will result in successful green development. We should macroscopically and microscopically analyze the development, from the natural environment to the artificial environment; from the relationship between human beings and nature to the combination of social ecology in cities, and farmlands. We must learn to develop and control them harmoniously and scientifically to provide a foundation for the methods used in architecture research.

Abstract:Architecture can be compared with the language, and the contextual phenomenon also exists in architecture. In this paper, we use the linguistic context as a beginning of architectural research to set up an architectural context zone. The thesis discusses around some problems, such as why we build architectural context zone, what the architectural context zone is and how to generate architectural significances through the architectural context zone.
