Abstract:Compounds with 4 d-transition-metal elements show a series of novel quantum states, such as spin liquid, correlated topological states, which maybe come from the spin-orbit interaction in 4 d transition-metal. Here we explored the magneto-transport properties of rare-earth-element doped 4 d-transition-metal oxide-K0.6RhO2 (RE-K0.6RhO2) crystals. Centimeter-sized Sm-, Dy-, Ho-doped (doping concentration ranged from 1.6 to 3.0 10-2 %) K0.6RhO2 crystals were grown from high temperature solution. The temperature-dependent longitudinal re-sistivity rho(xx) of RE-K0.6RhO2 shows the semiconductor-behavior (d(rho)/d(T) < 0) at low temperature (similar to 10 K), which can be attributed Kondo effect. Magneto-resistance of RE-K0.6RhO2 crystals is quite sensitive to amplitude and orientation of magnetic field. Remarkably, unconventional anomalous Hall effect is observed in RE-K0.6RhO2 and its sign can be changed from positive in Sm-K0.6RhO2 to negative in Dy-, Ho-K0.6RhO2. Sign change of un-conventional anomalous Hall effect can be understood by phase analysis of resonance-scattering of electrical carriers by local rare-earth element, considered the internal spin structure of an impurity in Kondo effect. Our work sheds more light on the effect of rare-earth-element doping to the magneto-transport properties of com-pounds containing 4 d-transition-metal.
