Abstract:Denoising of images is one of the most basic tasks of image processing. It is a challenging work to design a edge-preserving image denoising scheme. Extended discrete Shearlet transform (extended DST) is an effective multi-scale and multi-direction analysis method, it not only can exactly compute the shearlet coefficients based on a multiresolution analysis, but also can provide nearly optimal approximation for a piecewise smooth function. Based on extended DST, an image denoising using fuzzy support vector machine (FSVM) is proposed. Firstly, the noisy image is decomposed into different subbands of frequency and orientation responses using the extended DST. Secondly, the feature vector for a pixel in a noisy image is formed by the spatial regularity in extended DST domain, and the FSVM model is obtained by training. Then the extended DST detail coefficients are divided into two classes (edge-related coefficients and noise-related ones) by FSVM training model. Finally, the detail subbands of extended DST coefficients are denoised by using the adaptive Bayesian threshold. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our method can obtain better performances in terms of both subjective and objective evaluations than those state-of-the-art denoising techniques. Especially, the proposed method can preserve edges very well while removing noise.

Firstly, the joint statistics and mutual information of the extended DST coefficients are studied. Then, the extended DST coefficients are modeled using an HMT model with Gaussian mixtures, which can effectively capture the intra-scale and inter-scale dependencies. Finally, the extended Shearlet HMT model is applied to image denoising. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our extended Shearlet HMT denoising method can obtain better performances in terms of both subjective and objective evaluations than other state-of-the-art HMT denoising techniques. Especially, the proposed method can preserve edges very well while removing noise.

Abstract:Based on nonsubsampled shearlet transform (NSST) and fuzzy support vector machines (FSVMs), we present a new denoising approach that can effectively suppress noise from an image while keeping its features intact. The noisy image is firstly decomposed into different subbands of frequency and orientation responses using NSST. The NSST detail coefficients are then divided into edge/texture-related coefficients and noise-related ones by FSVMs classifier. And finally the detail subbands of NSST coefficients are denoised by using the adaptive Bayesian threshold. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our approach is competitive relative to many state-of-the-art denoising techniques. Especially, the proposed method can preserve edges very well while removing noise.

Abstract:Images are often corrupted by noise in the procedures of image acquisition and transmission. It is a challenging work to design an edge-preserving image denoising scheme. Extended discrete Shearlet transform (extended DST) is an effective multi-scale and multi-direction analysis method; it not only can exactly compute the Shearlet coefficients based on a multiresolution analysis, but also can represent images with very few coefficients. In this paper, we propose a new image denoising approach in extended DST domain, which combines hidden Markov tree (HMT) model and Bessel K Form (BKF) distribution. Firstly, the marginal statistics of extended DST coefficients are studied, and their distribution is analytically calculated by modeling extended DST coefficients with BKF probability density function. Then, an extended Shearlet HMT model is established for capturing the intra-scale, inter-scale, and cross-orientation coefficients dependencies. Finally, an image denoising approach based on the extended Shearlet HMT model is presented. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our extended Shearlet HMT denoising approach can obtain better performances in terms of both subjective and objective evaluations than other state-of-the-art HMT denoising techniques. Especially, the proposed approach can preserve edges very well while removing noise.

Abstract:An image denoising algorithm via wiener filtering in the shearlet domain is proposed in this paper, it makes full use of the advantages of them. Shearlets have the features of directionality, localization, anisotropy and multiscale, the image can be decomposed more accurately, and the noise information locates at the high frequency contents in the frequency spectrum, which can help the removal of noise. The wiener filtering is based on minimizing the mean square error criteria; and it has a good performance on removing the Gaussian white noise. So the combination between them can remove noise more effectively. The noisy image is decomposed by the shearlet transform at any scales and in any directions firstly, the high and low frequency coefficients are thus acquired. And then, in the shearlet domain, the high frequency parts are filtered by wiener filtering. Finally, the inverse shearlet transform is adopted to obtain the denoised image. At the end of paper, the experiments show that the proposed algorithm could get better results than others.

Abstract:A novel donoising method in multi-domain based on cartoon and texture decomposition model was proposed to remove the additional noise from remote sensing image.The algorithm considered that Curvelet transform and Wavelet transform have different sparse representation features for different image parts.An undecimated version of orthogonal Wavelet and a wrapping-based Curvelet transform were used.Curvelet coefficients and Wavelet coefficients were constructed by using image decomposition model,and Gaussian scale mixtures(GSM)model was combined to remove image noise.Experimental results show that the method can effectively preserve image details and edges as well as remove pseudo-Gibbs phenomena,and the peak signal-to-noise ratio evidently increases.

Abstract:One of the most common shortcomings of the frameworks of the system Curverlet and Contourlet is lack of providing a unified treatment of the continuum and digital world.Now Shearlet systems are the only systems which satisfy this property,yet still deliver optimally sparse approximations of images.This paper presented a band-limited Shearlet for multi-scale analysis.It used fast PPFT transformation to images,weighted and windowing treatment to get Shearlet coefficient,then optimized the decomposed coefficient of the image noise through the SURE-LET,and finally obtained the denoised image by inverse Shearlet transform.The experimental results show that,compared with the current denoising algorithm,the algorithm takes the certain advantages in the PSNR,SSIM and time.

Abstract:Aiming at the denoising algorithm of high resolution remote sensing images, in this paper, we propose a novel method based on sparse representation and adaptive dictionary learning. The proposed algorithm uses the strong correlation between the bands of high resolution remote sensing images, which combines the non local self similarity of the image with the local sparsity to improve the denoising performance. By means of sparse representation of image noise, we extract texture information from image noise so as to improve the quality of image denoising. A learning based super-resolution algorithm learns a dictionary through a set of training examples, and combines the missing high-frequency information from the low resolution image, and finally obtains the corresponding high-resolution image. The traditional denoising algorithm still has noise residue after noise removal, and the image denoising effect is not obvious when the noise is large. Experimental results show that the peak signal-to-noise ratio of the proposed method is higher than the existing similar algorithms, and it can better preserve the details and texture information of the image, and improve the visual effect.

Abstract:The ability to remove noise from remote sensing images, while retaining the important features of the images, is becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we introduce the multi-band contourlet transform, a new method for adaptively denoising remote sensing images. We describe existing methods that use multi-resolution analysis transforms for denoising images and discuss their respective advantages and disadvantages. We then introduce our novel denoising method, which exploits the advantages of existing methods. We summarize the results of a comprehensive set of experiments designed to evaluate the performance of our method and compare it with the performance of existing methods. The results demonstrate that our method is superior to existing methods, both in terms of its ability to denoise images and to retain salient features of those images following denoising.

Abstract:Aim To presenta new model of image denoising.Methods In wavelet domain,according to the characteristics of each sub-image,use different ways of anisotropic diffusion to denoise.Results A new anisotropic diffusion denoising scheme in wavelet domain is given.This scheme combines anisotropic diffusion superiority with multiresolution analysis of wavelet transform.It leads to locally coarse grids in areas of resulting smooth image intensity,while enhanced edges are still resolved on fine grid level.Conclusion Experiments show that the present algorithm is efficient for image denoising and can maintain image detail.

Abstract:In this paper, a new multi-source-information-based method for remote-sensing image denoising is proposed. Different from the conventional denoising algorithm, the proposed method employs the features of similar reference images from the different band, different sensors, or from multi-temporal images when denoising a target image. The noise-free reference images as a prior is introduced into the denoising object function. The prior's information about the reference image is explored in two aspects: dictionary learning and edge-feature prediction. For dictionary learning, we improve the basis training process by incremental singular value decomposition. For edge-feature prediction, we construct the relationship between gradients of the target image and the reference image by linear ridge regression. The new denoising object function employs both the sparsity of the coefficient and the edge similarity between the target image and the reference image. We also present the optimization scheme for the proposed denoising model. Some typical cases based on different feature relations between a target image and a reference image are comprehensively discussed. Reasonably utilizing the similarity between the target image and the reference image, the proposed algorithm smooths out more noise and conserves more detail at the same time. Better performance of the proposed method is confirmed when compared with other state-of-the-art reference-based denoising methods.

The new method is feasible and easy to implement. Moreover, our method can also retain the key information and some fine structures of image. Firstly, the noisy image is decomposed into different subbands of frequency and orientation responses using a PDTDFB transform. Secondly, the feature vector for a pixel in a noisy image is formed by the spatial regularity in PDTDFB domain, and the least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) model is obtained by training. Then the PDTDFB detail coefficients are divided into two classes (edge-related coefficients and noise-related ones) by LS-SVM training model. Finally, the detail subbands of PDTDFB coefficients are denoised by using the different parameters to control the multiscale and multidirectional anisotropic diffusion. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our method can obtain better performances in terms of both subjective and objective evaluations than those state-of-the-art denoising techniques. Especially, the proposed method can preserve edges very well while removing noise.

Abstract:Remote sensing images have rich details ,huge information and little difference between targets and background .Due to the remote sensing image enhancement methods which had put forward so far could not denoising and enhance the contrast 、texture and edges at the same time ,this paper propose a hybrid remote sensing image enhancement method .First ,the histogram equalization is used to enhance the contrast of remote sensing image from the global .Then the remote sensing image is decomposed into a low -frequency sub -band and several high -frequency sub - bands by the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) .Adaptive threshold de -noising and fuzzy contrast enhancement is used at the high -frequency sub -bands .To prevent over -enhanced ,the low -frequency part is not to be processed .At last the remote sensing image is transformed into frequency domain ,Laplacian filter is used to enhance the edges .The experiment results have demonstrated that the proposed method have significant effect in remote sensing image enhancement .
