Abstract:With the process of globalisation and the development of management models and information technologies, enterprise cooperation and collaboration meets a new business and technical environment. The Internet of things, mobile Internet, cloud computing and big data technologies build a sensing environment for all kinds of businesses. Inter enterprise collaboration is also meeting the new challenges of omni-channel marketing, closed-loop supply chain and enterprise networks integration. A data convergence oriented enterprise networks integration architecture with relative enabling technologies is developed in the paper. In order to collect, transfer and fuse data from different data sources, Data Portal (DP) and Collaboration Agent (CA) concepts are introduced, which present a lightweight and loosely coupled infrastructure for enterprise networks integration. How to use the developed technologies to solve problems of product lifecycle management and omni-channel marketing management are discussed in detailed cases studies. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:To meet enterprise-class application, the paper constructs a general distributed value-added logistics services platform for real-time tracking and querying the goods during storage and shipping process. Based on RFID, GPS and GSM/GPRS to improve storage and transport efficiency, the whole project consists of vehicle-mounted terminals, control center, and warehouse management system. Focused on the onboard system, architecture design and software implementation of terminals are given. The result shows that the system can provide some references for addressing the transparency of the third party logistics and efficient collaboration.

Abstract:The core-network suffers from inflexible and expensive equipment. Service chaining is a common but important problem of network management in Gi-LAN. The requirements of business agility drive the service architecture to services flexibility and scalability. To address these challenges, SDN centralized control and the NFV concept of CT reconstruction with IT virtualization technology are used to enable a reform in the mobile core network and the Gi-LAN service field. In this paper, following the technical trend of 5G, we propose the Cloud-ICT Convergence Service Architecture to construct an open and elastic digital information ecosystem. This architecture is a solution that provides flexibility in managing infrastructure and uses virtualization to dynamically orchestrate service chains on demand. The information ecosystem constructed in this architecture can provide the functional convergence of IT&CT services in addition to the traditional cellular network functions.

Abstract:To realize semantic interoperability of product data in collaborative product development field,an ontology-based framework for semantic interoperability was proposed.Firstly,a standard-based approach was used to develop a Product Data Semantic Representation Language(PDSRL) formalizing product data.Then,mapping relationship was established between an existing application ontology and the PDSRL ontology by using semantic equivalence and semantic similarity assessment.Finally,taking the PDSRL ontology as a mediator,the data exchange was implemented among application ontologies,and semantic interoperability of product data was realized among heterogeneous Computer Aided Design(CAD) systems.A prototype system and an application instance were presented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the framework.

Abstract:The paper proposes a data management platform with an open architecture for converting huge amount of various and cluttered data into Lean Data, which provides customer-expected service and can be then encapsulated as service packages to be used by different application developers. Ontology is used to provide a unified way for data flow description and semantic data storage to achieve a unified understanding among different layers and modules. A case study for routing optimization in the industry of intelligent transportation is illustrated to show how the platform works, and he potential business value of such platform is also indicated in this paper.

Abstract:With the process of globalisation and the development of management models and information technology, enterprise cooperation and collaboration has developed from intra-enterprise integration, outsourcing and inter-enterprise integration, and supply chain management, to virtual enterprises and enterprise networks. Some midfielder enterprises begin to serve for different supply chains. Therefore, they combine related supply chains into a complex enterprise network. The main challenges for enterprise network's integration and collaboration are business process and data fragmentation beyond organisational boundaries. This paper reviews the requirements of enterprise network's integration and collaboration, as well as the development of new information technologies. Based on service-oriented architecture (SOA), collaboration modelling and collaboration agents are introduced to solve problems of collaborative management for service convergence under the condition of process and data fragmentation. A model-driven methodology is developed to design and deploy the integrating framework. An industrial experiment is designed and implemented to illustrate the usage of developed technologies in this paper.

Abstract:Supply chain interactions are complex in general and can be viewed as a networked enterprise. In this paper, we address information system interoperability for exploring and analysing the interoperation problem in heterogeneous networked enterprise systems. We propose a common shared ontology-based framework for networked enterprise interoperability for the context of information flows in supply chain interactions. A supply chain ontology, supply chain operations reference SCOR ontology, is developed based on the SCOR model. Subsequently, by formalising the similar concepts of SCOR ontology and product ontology, ONTO-PDM, using description logic, we propose a product-centric supply chain ontology framework for facilitating the interoperation between all enterprise applications involved in an extended supply chain. A case study of a supply chain make-to-order process is used to demonstrate the feasibility of the approach.

Abstract:To flexibly integrate various systems at different stages and improve the openness and reusability of information in remote collaborative product development, a framework of integrated product modeling based on Web Services is presented The integrated model consists of a master model and application models that combine static and dynamic information supporting whole product lifecycle. The master model contains the core and shared information. The application model relating to specific manufacture domain is built up by extracting the master model and complementing domain information. The flexible integration of heterogeneous systems is ensured by the use of Web Services. The openness and expansibility are preserved by combining STEP and XML for information representation and exchange. The high reusability of product information is achieved by using a service-oriented multi-granularity schema The information consistency among the master model and application models is maintained through a coordinated-protocol for rapidly acquiring alteration and reacting to it.

Abstract:Because of the complexity of the hospital environment, there exist a lot of medical information systems from different vendors with incompatible structures. In order to establish an enterprise hospital information system, the integration among these heterogeneous systems must be considered. Complete integration should cover three aspects: data integration, function integration and workflow integration. However most of the previous design of architecture did not accomplish such a complete integration. This article offers an architecture design of the enterprise hospital information system based on the concept of digital neural network system in hospital. It covers all three aspects of integration, and eventually achieves the target of one virtual data center with Enterprise Viewer for users of different roles. Abstract:Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is emerged as a research hotspot of key technologies in future wireless communication systems with the purpose of achieving environment sensing within a wireless communication framework. To achieve complete and accurate sensing of the large-scale complex environment, multiple views from different user equipments (UEs) and base stations (BSs) in a wireless network should be fully and cooperatively exploited. In this article, both centralized and distributed architectures of multi-view sensing for wireless communications are proposed. For each architecture, the key performance indicators are pointed out. To realize the multi-view sensing, various signal processing as well as machine learning methods are discussed with detailed classifications and comparisons. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed architectures and schemes.

Abstract:Inspired by an investigation of the network service and administration requirement of several large manufacturing enterprises, the authors propose a hybrid network architecture that is composed of a high speed computer network and low speed field bus network. The former works as an intranet. There are some intelligent agents coordinating the whole network. Besides traditional management information such as stock, sales, personnel, etc., this new kind of network will bring real-time state information and control information of assembly lines, manufacturing equipment, etc., to the enterprise decision makers. They regard it as a prospective integrated information infrastructure for manufacturing enterprise, which will help to realize management and control integration so as to greatly enhance the competence of the enterprise. The potency requirement of the hybrid network is analyzed. The hierarchy structure and its advantages are outlined. The drawbacks of setting it up are also identified. Network Architecture Design toward Convergence of Mobile Applications and Networks

Abstract:With the quick proliferation of extended reality (XR) services, the mobile communications networks are faced with gigantic challenges to meet the diversified and challenging service requirements. A tight coordination or even convergence of applications and mobile networks is highly motivated. In this paper, a multi-domain (e.g. application layer, transport layer, the core network, radio access network, user equipment) coordination scheme is first proposed, which facilitates a tight coordination between applications and networks based on the current 5G networks. Toward the convergence of applications and networks, a network architectures with cross-domain joint processing capability is further proposed for 6G mobile communications and beyond. Both designs are able to provide more accurate information of the quality of experience (QoE) and quality of service (QoS), thus paving the path for the joint optimization of applications and networks. The benefits of the QoE assisted scheduling are further investigated via simulations. A new QoE-oriented fairness metric is further proposed, which is capable of ensuring better fairness when different services are scheduled. Future research directions and their standardization impacts are also identified. Toward optimized end-to-end service provision, the paradigm shift from loosely coupled to converged design of applications and wireless communication networks is indispensable.

Abstract:With the development of cloud computing, IT users (individuals, enterprises and even public services providers) are transferring their jobs or businesses to public online services provided by professional information service companies. These information service companies provide applications as public resources to support the business operation of their customers. However, no cloud computing service vendor (CCSV) can satisfy the full functional information system requirements of its customers. As a result, its customers often have to simultaneously use services distributed in different clouds and do some connectivity jobs manually. Services convergence and multi-clouds integration will lead to new business models and trigger new integration technologies that provide solutions to satisfy IT users’ complicated requirements. This paper firstly reviews the development of cloud computing from business and technical viewpoints and then discusses requirements and challenges of services convergence and multi-clouds integrations. Thirdly, a model based architecture of multi-clouds integration is provided. Business logic modelling for cross-organizational collaboration, service modelling and operation modelling methods with relative model mapping technology are discussed in detail. Some key enabling technologies are also developed. At last, case studies are presented to illustrate the implementation of the technologies developed in the paper.

Abstract:The mobile network is at a critical tipping point. On the one hand, it is heavily stressed by the explosive increase of traffic, and the steep transition from a smartphone-dominated market to one that is dazzling diverse, all subject to the same electromagnetic theory-ruled physical world. On the other hand, it is hopefully excited by the rapid development of data science, more powerful and versatile computing, and increasingly affordable hardware. It seems that we have come to the point at which in order to make the ends meet, one would need to put all the pieces together. In this paper, we aspire to establish a holistic framework for mobile big data (MBD) based network intelligence. Combining the top-down and bottom-up approaches, we put in context the recent development in the mobile network architecture, resource-based management theory, MBD orchestration, and data analytics, and establish a hierarchical network intelligence architecture fueled by MBD analytics. This architecture nurtures holistic understanding on how the multidimensional, multilateral, and multigranular MBD, together with its processing, can be plugged into the network architecture.

Abstract:The rapid development of immersive technologies is propelling the emergence of extended reality (XR), a promising use case that submerges users into a virtual universe. To enable XR, devices equipped with a large number of sensors are necessary, and the diverse types and functions of sensors lead to different sensing and communication paradigms in the same network. Therefore, an appropriate integration of sensing and communication from all connected devices in the network is essential to XR. In this article, we propose a framework for the networked integration of sensing and communication (NISC), targeting the XR use case. In the proposed NISC framework, the sensing and communication resources from the devices are pooled and managed in a unified manner to satisfy the diverse quality of service (QoS) requirements of XR users. In addition, we illustrate the challenges for the NISC and present the potential solutions. A representative case study of the NISC framework is provided to demonstrate its performance advantages. Open research directions are finally provided.
