Abstract:Perovskite quantum dots with excellent optical properties and robust durability stand as an appealing and desirable candidate for fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) based fluorescence detection, a powerful technique featuring excellent accuracy and convenience. In this work, a monolithic superhydrophobic polystyrene fiber membrane with CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots encapsulated within (CPBQDs/PS FM) was prepared via one-step electrospinning. Coupling CPBQDs with PS matrix, this CPBQDs/PS FM composite exhibits high quantum yields (∼91%), narrow half-peak width (∼16 nm), nearly 100% fluorescence retention after being exposed to water for 10 days and 79.80% fluorescence retention after 365 nm UV-light (1 mW/cm2) illumination for 60 h. Thanks to the outstanding optical property of CPBQDs, an ultralow detection limit of 0.01 ppm was obtained for Rhodamine 6G (R6G) detection, with the FRET efficiency calculated to be 18.80% in 1 ppm R6G aqueous solution. Electrospun as well-designed fiber membranes, CPBQDs/PS FM composite also possesses good tailorability and recyclability, showing exciting potential for future implementation into practical applications.

Abstract:A simple and effective method was reported for the preparation from MEH-PPV of conjugated polymer nanoparticles (Pdots) that are water-soluble and well dispersed. The as-prepared Pdots show bright orange fluorescence at a quantum yield up to 32.37%. The fluorescence intensity of Pdots can be quenched with good selectively by the successive addition of Fe3+. In addition, the as-obtained Pdots were applied to the imaging of HeLa cells, and exhibited low cytotoxicity and excellent biocompatibility. Copyright (c) 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:Recently, all-inorganic CsPbX 3 (Br, I, CI) perovskites are hot and potential materials which apply to photoelectric device, due to their excellent photoelectric properties such as high carrier mobility, high fluorescence, etc. However, the poor stability greatly restricts their practical applications. In this paper, CsPbBr 3 nanocrystals (NCs) were in-situ encapsulated into PS polymer nanofibers by one step electrospinning with highly uniform size and spatial distribution. The hydrothermal stability of the obtained CsPbBr 3 @PS flexible fiber paper was radically improved with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 66.3%. The PL strength remained 97.2% of the initial value after immersion in water for 10 days. Their PLQY remains above 50% of its original value after heating at 80 °C for 5 h. Due to the excellent optical properties and stability of CsPbBr 3 @PS flexible fiber papers, the detection for rhodamine 6G (R6G) and rhodamine B (RhB) aqueous solution with high FRET value of 24.7% and 21.4%, respectively. Moreover, the minimum detection limit for R6G aqueous solution is 0.005 ppm. This study suggests that the CsPbBr 3 @PS flexible fiber paper is a good candidate for fabricating flexible optoelectronic devices, promising application potentials in lighting and display fields.

Abstract:High-quality quantum-dot/polystyrene nanofibers (QD/PS NFs) are synthesized by drawing solvated PS doped with CdSe/ZnS QDs. As-drawn QD/PS NFs offer ultra-long-term photostability, flexibility, and excellent optical properties for sensing applications. Based on these active NFs, optical humidity sensors with extremely low power consumption, fast response, and long-term stability are successfully demonstrated, which may lead to a new category of nanometer-scale optical sensors.

Abstract:Recently, metal halide perovskite quantum dots (MHPQDs) have attracted considerable interest in sensing activities due to their excellent optoelectronic properties and high surface activity. Here, aiming for heavy metal detection, we proposed an ultrasensitive turn-off fluorescent probe based on MAPbBr3 MHPQDs for the measurement of copper ions in an organic solvent. A low limit of detection (LOD) of 5.6nM was achieved and the test range was recorded from 0nM to 100nM. In order to achieve this high sensitivity, a thin film layer of electrospun polystyrene(PS) nanofibre was introduced for the structural support of MHPQDs, by which the sensitivity increased two orders of magnitude. The quenching mechanism is also discussed in the paper. We believe the electron transfer effect between Cu2+ and perovskite QDs made the main contribution for turn off sensing in our prototype device.

Abstract:This work designed a three-component polymer for the preparation of polymer dots (Pdots). The polymer contained 9-(diphenylmethylene)-9H-fluorene (DPF), 9,9-dioctyl-9H-fluorene (DOF) and 1,1'-binaphthyl moieties, and was synthesized via Pd-catalyzed Suzuki reaction. It exhibited obvious yellow-colored aggregation-induced emission (AIE) for fluorescence enhancement at 543nm via an intramolecular fluorescence resonance energy transfer from DOF moiety to DPF moiety. The Pdots prepared by nanoprecipitation could be conveniently cast on electrode surface and showed a stable anodic electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission in the presence of triethylamine as a co-reactant. The ECL emission could be effectively quenched by rhodamine B via resonance energy transfer, which led to an "off-on" switch for the design of ECL sensing methodology. Using Pb2+ as a target model, an ECL aptasensor for the detection of trace Pb2+ was proposed, which showed a linear range of 100pM to 1.0μM with a detection limit down to 38.0pM This work demonstrated the first Pdots prepared with AIE-active polymer for highly efficient ECL sensing.

Abstract:The stability issue of organometallic halide perovskites remains a great challenge for future research as to their applicability in different functional material fields. Herein, a novel and facile two-step synthesis procedure is reported for encapsulation of CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite quantum dots (QDs) in MOF-5 microcrystals, where PbBr2 and CH3NH3Br precursors are added stepwise to fabricate stable CH3NH3PbBr3@MOF-5 composites. In comparison to CH3NH3PbBr3 QDs, CH3NH3PbBr3@MOF-5 composites exhibited highly improved water resistance and thermal stability, as well as better pH adaptability over a wide range. Luminescent investigations demonstrate that CH3NH3PbBr3@MOF-5 composites not only featured excellent sensing properties with respect to temperature changes from 30 to 230 °C but also exhibited significant selective luminescent response to several different metal ions in aqueous solution. These outstanding characteristics indicate that the stable CH3NH3PbBr3@MOF-5 composites are potentially interesting for application in fluorescence sensors or detectors.

Abstract:Perovskite materials have attracted attention due to their excellent optical and electrical properties; however, their unsatisfactory stability limits their application in biochemical detection. In this paper, CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots were successfully encapsulated in poly(styrene/acrylamide) microspheres, using a swelling–shrinking method. The manufactured perovskite microspheres (PDPS composites) not only maintained strong photoluminescence (PL) stability but also demonstrated great water solubility. Additionally, a real-time pH monitoring platform was constructed based on the prepared PDPS composites and dopamine, and the system showed a good linear relationship in a pH range of 4–12. Furthermore, urea could be hydrolyzed to produce hydroxyl groups, thereby increasing the pH of the solution. Therefore, this system was then extended for urea and urease detection. As a result, the detection limits of urea and urease were recorded as 1.67 μM and 2.1 mU/mL, respectively. This development provides an interesting demonstration of the expanding list of applications of perovskite materials.

Abstract:Halide perovskite nanocrystals are innovative luminescent materials for fluorescent probes with high quantum yield and narrow emission bandwidth. However, the limited stability, single-signal response, and separation challenges obstruct their widespread use in water ion detection. Herein, a ratiometric fluorescence sensor based on terbium alginate gel beads (green fluorescent, namely Tb-AG) embedded with powdered CsPbI3@Pb-MOF (red fluorescent) was prepared for fluorescent determination and adsorption of Fe3+. Pb-MOF's protection notably enhances the water stability of CsPbI3, while the energy transfer between CsPbI3@Pb-MOF and Tb3+ elevates the optical performance of CsPbI3@Pb-MOF@Tb-AG. Significantly, Fe3+ markedly suppresses CsPbI3@Pb-MOF red fluorescence at 647 nm, while not noticeably affecting Tb-AG green emission at 528 nm. The sensor exhibited a strong linear response to Fe3+ concentrations ranging from 0 to 90 μM, with a detection limit of 0.44 μM and high selectivity. The CsPbI3@Pb-MOF@Tb-AG-based sensor has been effectively validated through its successful use in detecting Fe3+ in tap and river water samples. Furthermore, CsPbI3@Pb-MOF@Tb-AG demonstrates a notable adsorption capacity of 325.4 mg g-1 Fe3+. Finally, the mechanism of Fe3+ detection and adsorption was determined.

Abstract:The creation of yolk-shell nanoparticles (YS NPs) with a movable core and periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) shell has been simplified using a " self-template" strategy. In this method, the knitting of the PMO shell and the formation of the interlayer cavity co-occur. This benefit contributes to the simplification of preparation processes and the realization of greater YS NP preparation efficiency with varied functional cores. By incorporating a silver nanocore into the YS NP (Ag-PMO-YS), a ratiometric Cu2+ fluorescence sensor is created by the "like dissolves like" principle driving the self-assembly of fluorescein derivatives and Cu2+ ligands within the surfactant micelles. Due to the coordination of Cu2+ and its ligands and their impact on the emission of fluorescein derivatives, which take part in the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) process with carbon dots (CDs), this sensor system demonstrates extraordinary detection sensitivity to Cu2+ (10-7 M). Additionally, the movable Ag nanocore's metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF) effect strengthens the high detection sensitivity and stability.
CsPbCl3 Perovskite Quantum Dots/tio2 Inverse Opal Photonic Crystals for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Detection of Alpha Fetoprotein

Abstract:All-inorganic perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have caused extensive research interest because of their excellent optical and electrical properties. However, their water-instability limits their biological applications, and the researches of photoelectrochemical (PEC) biological detection based on CsPbCl3 PQDs are relatively rarely. In this report, the PEC biosensor based on CsPbCl3 QDs modified macroporous TiO2 inverse opal photonic crystals (IOPCs) is designed for alpha fetoprotein (AFP) detection. Firstly, the water stability of PQDs immobilized on IOPCs is remarkably enhanced. In addition, the large specific surface area of TiO2 IOPCs improves the fixed amount of AFP and decreases the electron transmission distance between PQDs and FTO substrate. Ultimately, the PEC biosensor based on TiO2 IOPCs/CsPbCl3 shows excellent detection performance with a low detection limit of 30 pg ml(-1) and a good linear range from 0.08 ng ml(-1) to 980ng ml(-1) for AFP detection in phosphate buffer saline solutions. This detection system has very extensive application prospect for AFP detection in clinical analysis and biological fields.

Abstract:Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) possess remarkable optical properties, such as tunable photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra, narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) and high PL quantum yield (QY), endowing the PQDs great application prospects. However, the inherent structural instability of PQDs has seriously hindered the application of PQDs in various photoelectric devices. In this work, a microfluidic electrospinning method was used to fabricate color-tunable fluorescent formamidinium lead halogen (FAPbX3, X = Cl, Br, I) PQDs/polymer core-shell nanofiber films. The core-shell spinning nanofiber not only supplies the interspace for the in-situ formation of PQDs, but also significantly reduces the permeability of moisture and oxygen in the air, which greatly improves the stability of PQDs. After adjusting the composition of precursors, the blue-emissive polystyrene (core) and polymethyl methacrylate (shell) coated FAPbCl3 QDs (abbreviated as PS/FAPbCl3/PMMA, hereinafter), green-emissive PS/FAPbBr3/PMMA and red-emissive PS/FAPbI3/PMMA nanofiber films were fabricated with the highest PL QY of 82.3%. Moreover, the PS/FAPbBr3/PMMA nanofiber film exhibits great PL stability under blue light irradiation, long-term storage in the air and water resistance test. Finally, the green- and red-emissive nanofiber films were directly applied as light conversion films to fabricate wide-color-gamut display with the color gamut of 125%, indicating their tremendous potentials in optoelectronic applications.

Abstract:Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have been widely studied due to the outstanding light emission properties including high quantum efficiency, narrow linewidths and electron transport properties. However, poor stability limits their implication in optical devices, especially working at ambient conditions in the presence of moisture that rapidly attenuate their performance. In this work, PQDs were loaded in nanosized EMT zeolite crystals synthesized from template-free precursor systems resulting in a composite EMT-CsPbBr3. We found and studied for the first time that, in the pores of the zeolites, a small amount of water molecules can promote the crystallization of perovskite nanocrystals. The energy and bond length of perovskite CsPbBr3 confined in the cages of EMT zeolite were calculated in the presence of water molecules, corresponding to the effect of humidity. Crucially, the pore structure of EMT molecular sieve provides an important research model. The great stability and reliability of the EMT-CsPbBr3 as humidity sensor is presented. The luminous intensity efficiency of the EMT-CsPbBr3 composite was maintained at nearly 90% after continuous usage for 6 months. Both the theoretical and experimental results show that a trace amount of water enhances the luminescence of perovskite stabilized in the hydrophilic EMT zeolite.

Abstract:The accumulation of heavy metal ions in the human body sharply affects health, drawing global attention. Consequently, there is an urgent need to develop environmentally-friendly and non-toxic metal ion fluorescent sensing probes. Herein, two fluorescent probes based on Cs–Bi–Cl perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) with distinct structures, namely Cs3BiCl6:Eu3+ (3-1-6-E) and Cs3Bi2Cl9:Eu3+ (3-2-9-E), were successfully synthesized by using the ligand-assisted re-precipitation (LARP) method for detecting Cu2+ and Fe3+ ions in ethanol. Both PeQDs exhibit polychromatic emission, including feature emission around 505 nm and distinctive emission from Eu3+ ions in the long-wavelength region, making them suitable for ratiometric fluorescent probes. Significantly, both probes displayed excellent linear relationship with correlation coefficients of 0.998 (3-1-6-E) and 0.985 (3-2-9-E), respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) reached 6.23 μM (3-1-6-E) and 4.55 μM (3-2-9-E). Notably, the 3-2-9-E quantum dots (QDs) successfully detected Fe3+ ions in ethanol, owing to their unique photo-quenching and photo-recovery phenomena. The detection results exhibited excellent linear fitting, with a correlation coefficient of 0.996 and a low LOD of 3.6 μM. Furthermore, compared to undoped PeQDs, Eu3+ ion-doped PeQDs demonstrate strongly enhanced luminescence intensity and excellent photo-stability. This work expands the potential applications of lead-free PeQDs while simultaneously improving their luminescent properties.

Abstract:This study presents a novel PbBr2‐MMT@PAN electrospinning membrane for selective Cs+ detection, which can be attributed to the luminescent CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals. The incorporation of NH4+‐MMT into the PbBr2‐MMT@PAN nanofiber membrane can further enhance its hydrophilicity and selective adsorption of Cs+ ions, enabling rapid detection of cesium ions with a detection limit of 44 ppb. This study introduces a novel fluorescent light‐up electrospun membrane, integrating PbBr2, which serves as an exceptionally selective probe for the detection of cesium ions (Cs+). Leveraging the superior optical properties of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs), the researchers employ electrospinning technology to fabricate a test strip, namely PbBr2@polyacrylonitrile (PbBr2@PAN) nanofiber membranes, capable of swiftly detecting Cs+ in water merely by observing changes in the nanocrystals' luminescence with the naked eye. By the introduction of NH4+‐modified montmorillonite (NH4+‐MMT), PbBr2‐MT@PAN nanofiber membranes is obtained. The selectivity and sensitivity to Cs+ can be further improved because NH4+‐MMT endows PbBr2‐MT@PAN nanofiber membranes with the hydrophilic property and selective adsorption toward Cs+ ions. Abstract:Water‐stable CsPbBr3/reduced graphene oxide nanoscrolls (CsPbBr3/rGO NSs) are successfully achieved via rGO self‐rolling and CsPbBr3 encapsulation, appropriate band alignment and ultrafast interfacial carrier transfer enable CsPbBr3/rGO NSs to exhibit greatly enhanced anode photocurrent response for subsequent photoelectrochemical sensing. This work provides an inspirable and convenient strategy for hydrolysis‐resistant perovskite‐based further applications in aqueous ambience. Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have attracted much attention in the field of photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors owing to their superb optical properties and efficient charge transport, but the inherent poor stability severely hinders their PEC applications. Herein, hydrolysis‐resistant CsPbBr3/reduced graphene oxide nanoscrolls (CsPbBr3/rGO NSs) are obtained by solvent‐assisted self‐rolling process toward water‐stable PEC sensors. CsPbBr3 QDs embedded in rGO nanosheets can be prevented from water since the multilayer rGO shell layers, which maintains excellent optical properties. On account of strong interfacial interactions, rGO nanosheets are crimped spontaneously with CsPbBr3 QDs, which offer access to superb structural and long‐term storage stability. Moreover, appropriate band alignment and ultrafast interfacial carrier transfer enable CsPbBr3/rGO NSs to exhibit greatly enhanced anode photocurrent response for subsequent PEC sensing. As a demonstration, the molecular imprinted PEC sensors for two kinds of mycotoxins (aflatoxin B1 or ochratoxin A) presents an ultra‐high sensitivity and good anti‐interference ability. Significantly, this work provides an inspirable and convenient route for hydrolysis‐resistant PQDs‐based optoelectronic and photoelectrocatalytic applications in aqueous ambience.

Abstract:A typical and environment-friendly fluorescent polyamine-amine (PAMAM) features good compatibility and unique surface modification, while it is restricted by a low fluorescence property performance and an unclear fluorescence mechanism. In this work, we prepared blue fluorescent PAMAM polymer dots (PDs) via a simple hydrothermal method based on dichloromethane (DCM) and 2.0G PAMAM. The quantum yield achieved was 32.1%, which was 25 times stronger than that of 2.0G PAMAM due to the lone-pair electron leap of the amine groups, the aggregation of carbonyl groups, as well as the crosslinking induced by DCM inside the PAMAM. In addition, the fluorescent 2.0G PAMAM-DCM PDs show a great Fe3+ sensing property with the detection limit of 56.6 nM, which is much lower than the safety limits (5.36 μM) in drinking water, indicating its great potential for Fe3+ detection in aqueous media.
