Abstract:We found our published article titled “The CD24+ cell subset promotes invasion and metastasis in human osteosarcoma (EBioMedicine. 2020 Jan;51:102598.)” contained inadvertent errors in Fig 6g. Fig 6g should show the sarcospheres formed by MNNG/HOS cells, but we incorrectly incorporated the images from MG-63 cell image file during figure assembly. We checked the original data, and the corrected Fig 6 is presented as below. The corrections do not change the results or conclusions of this paper. We would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Abstract:Following the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that, in Fig. 5A on p. 1305, the same xenograft tumor image had been selected for a pair of the GFP/U2‐OS experiments, where the images from discretely performed experiments were intended to have been shown. Furthermore, upon performing an independent analysis of the data in the Editorial Office, it was noted that the data selected for the 'SaO2/GFP/24 h' and 'SaO2/HMGN2/48 h' experiments in Fig. 4A, also on p. 1305, were strikingly similar, such that the same data had apparently been chosen to show the results of differently performed experiments. After having inspected the figures, the authors realized that one of the n=3 experimental results had inadvertently been omitted from Fig. 5A, and the data shown to represent the 'SaO2/GFP/24 h' experiment had been chosen incorrectly. The revised and corrected versions of Figs. 4 and 5 are shown on the next page (also note that erroneously written labels have been corrected in Fig. 5C: "Tumor volume" has been replaced by "Tumor weight"). Note that the errors made in terms of the assembly of the data in these figures did not affect the overall conclusions reported in the paper. Abstract:Following the publication of this article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that, in Fig. 4 on p. 1913, the t-Akt panel in Fig. 4A looked unexpectedly similar to the β-actin panel in Fig. 4C. The authors were able to refer back to their original data, and realized that the Figure had been compiled incorrectly; essentially, the data for the t-Akt panel had been duplicated, and the data for the β-actin panel in Fig. 4C had not been included in the Figure as intended. The revised version of Fig. 4, showing the correct data for the β-actin panel in Fig. 4C, is shown opposite. This error did not have a significant impact on the results or the conclusions reported in this study. Abstract:Subsequently to the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that Fig. 3 (showing how RACK1 silencing alters the protein expression levels of tumor malignant progress markers in OSCC in vivo) contained an overlapping data panel, such that the data were derived from the same original source where they were intending to depict the results from experiments performed under different experimental conditions and Fig. 4 (showing how RACK1 expression is positively correlated with p‑AKT in OSCC tissues and cells) contained a clearly duplicated pair of data panels. The authors were able to re‑examine their original data, and have identified the data that were intended to have been shown for these figure parts. The corrected versions of Figs. 3 and 4 are shown on the next two pages, featuring the correct data for the E‑cadherin experiments in Fig. 3B and the correct enlargement panel for the RACK1 / Moderate dysplasia experiment in Fig. 4A. Abstract:In the original version of this article (1), images of experimental controls in Figs. 2B, 2C, and 3A are the same as those in Figs. 4B, 4C, and 3A, respectively, in a previously published article (2). The authors explained that the experiments were intentionally designed so that the same controls could be used to test different experimental conditions, and the best representative images were selected to generate these figures. In addition, two different images representing p70S6K1/S6K Western blot bands were presented in Figs. 5B and 6C, respectively. In both figures, the lower bands are redundant. The errors have been corrected in the latest online HTML and PDF versions of the article. Finally, the same β-actin Western blot image was duplicated in Fig. 6B. The lower image is incorrect, but the authors are unable to provide the original data. However, the editors have determined that this error does not change the major findings of the article. The authors regret these errors.
