Abstract:In order to rapidly inhibit the migration of nuclides in heavily contaminated soil, microwave sintering technology was used to vitrify the soil without other additive agents. In this study, Nd2O3 and CeO2 in different mass ratio were simultaneously doped into soil to simulate An(3+) and An(4+) radioactive contaminated soil. These simulative contaminated soil were sintered by microwave at 1300 degrees C for 30 min to achieve vitrification. It was found that the total solid solubility could reach to 30 wt%, and slight crystallization appeared when the total solid solubility was 31 wt%. The FT-IR analysis disclosed the modification of the glass network structure with increased doping content and found that the tetrahedral SiO4 units existed mainly in a sheet form.
