Abstract:Online and e-learning have become indispensable components of the educational process. Enhancing students' adaptation to this form of education is crucial for achieving optimal results. This study aims to broaden our comprehension of students' online learning adaptability by leveraging machine learning methods to create and evaluate different models, with the goal of identifying the most effective technology and powerful model that can improve the educational process. In this study, four distinct models were developed, each incorporating algorithms for a specific type of machine learning: Bagging, Boosting, Stacking, as well as a model comprising a variety of algorithms encompassing both single and ensemble learning. These models employed four feature selection methods: Relief F, ANOVA, Information Gain, and Chi-square. A 10-fold cross-validation approach (K = 10-fold) was employed with classifiers across all models in the study. Using the Chi-square feature selection method, the Gradient Boosting algorithm managed to attain an accuracy rate of 0.866. However, the stacked learning model surpassed this, reaching an accuracy rate of 0.874. This model incorporated Boosting classifiers at level-0 and Logistic Regression (LR) at level-1, while also leveraging the Chi-square feature selection approach. These findings underscore the potential of machine learning techniques in enhancing students' adaptation to online learning and improving the educational process. Further exploration and research of these models can yield valuable insights and contribute to the ongoing development of effective e-learning strategies.
