Abstract:Let $M$ be an $m (\ge2)$-dimensional closed orientable submanifold in an $n$-dimensional complete simply-connected Riemannian manifold $N$, where the sectional curvature of $N$ is bounded above by $\delta$. When $\delta<0$, inspired by Niu-Xu (arXiv:2106.01912), we give new upper bounds for the first nonzero eigenvalues of the $p$-Laplacian and the $L_T$ operator, respectively. These generalize Niu-Xu's work for the Laplacian (arXiv:2106.01912) and improve the estimates due to Chen (Nonlinear Anal.,196, 111833, 2020) for the $p$-Laplacian and Grosjean (Hokkaido Math. J., 33(2) , 319-339, 2004) for the $L_T$ operator, respectively. We also obtain several Reilly-type inequalities for the weighted manifolds and some boundary value problems.

Abstract:Let M be an n(>2)-dimensional closed orientable submanifold in an (n+p)-dimensional space form ℝ^n+p(c). We obtain an optimal upper bound for the second eigenvalue of a class of elliptic operators on M defined by L_Tf=-div(T∇ f), where T is a general symmetric, positive definite and divergence-free (1,1)-tensor on M. The upper bound is given in terms of an integration involving tr T and |H_T|^2, where tr T is the trace of the tensor T and H_T=∑_i=1^nA(Te_i,e_i) is a normal vector field associated with T and the second fundamental form A of M. Furthermore, we give the sufficient and necessary conditions when the upper bound is attained. Our main theorem can be viewed as an extension of the famous `Reilly inequality'. The operator L_T can be regarded as a natural generalization of the well-known operator L_r which is the linearized operator of the first variation of the (r+1)-th mean curvature for hypersurfaces in a space form. As applications of our main theorem, we generalize the results of Grosjean ([16]) and Li-Wang ([19]) for hypersurfaces to higher codimension case.

Abstract:Let Mn(n ≥ 4) be an oriented compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in an (n + p)-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold Nn+p. Then there exists a constant δ(n, p) 2 (0, 1) such that if the sectional curvature of N satisfies $${\overline K _N} \in \;\,\left[ {\delta \left( {n,p} \right),\;1} \right]$$, and if M has a lower bound for Ricci curvature and an upper bound for scalar curvature, then N is isometric to Sn+p. Moreover, M is either a totally umbilic sphere $${S^n}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$, a Clifford hypersurface $${S^m}({1 \over {\sqrt {2(1 + {H^2})} }})\; \times \;{S^m}({1 \over {\sqrt {2(1 + {H^2})} }})$$ in the totally umbilic sphere $${S^{n+1}}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$ with n = 2m, or $${\mathbb{C}{\rm{P}}^2}\left( {{4 \over 3}\left( {1 + {H^2}} \right)} \right)$$ in $${S^7}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$. This is a generalization of Ejiri’s rigidity theorem.

Abstract:We obtained an inequality of Chen type for Lagrangian submanifolds of a class of indefinite complex space form using the Riemannian invariant and the optimization method on the Riemannian manifolds.In particular,we also showed that a Lagrangian submanifold of the indefinite complex space form attaining equality in the inequality must be totally geodesic.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the rigidity for an n(≥ 4) -dimensional submanifold M^n with parallel mean curvature in the space form 𝕄^n+p_c when the integral Ricci curvature of M has some bound. We prove that, if c+H^2>0 and ‖Ric_-^λ‖ _n/2< ϵ (n,c, λ , H) for λ satisfying n-2n-1 (c+H^2) < λ≤ c+H^2 , then M is the totally umbilical sphere 𝕊^n( 1√(c+H^2)) . Here H is the norm of the parallel mean curvature of M , and ϵ (n,c,λ , H) is a positive constant depending only on n, c,λ and H . This extends part of the earlier work of Xu and Gu (Geom Funct Anal 23(5):1684–1703, 2013) from pointwise Ricci curvature lower bound to integral Ricci curvature lower bound.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to consider a class of p-degenerate subelliptic operators Lp constructed by generalizing Greiner's vector fields. Their fundamental solutions at the origin are established with the aid of the properties of radial functions. A Picone-type identity and a Hardy-type inequality with respect to vector fields are proved. Some Pohozaev-type identities and applications to nonlinear equations are given. Finally, a Carleman-type estimate and uniqueness of the operator L2 are discussed.

These inequalities are more general than known Yang's inequalities and contain new consequences. Abstract:We prove a new general Poincaré-type inequality for differential forms on compact Riemannian manifolds with nonempty boundary. When the boundary is isometrically immersed in Euclidean space, we derive a new inequality involving mean and scalar curvatures of the boundary only and characterize its limiting case in codimension one. A new Ros-type inequality for differential forms is also derived assuming the existence of a nonzero parallel form on the manifold.

Abstract:The sub-Laplacian plays a key role in CR geometry. In this paper, we investigate eigenvalues of the sub-Laplacian on bounded domains of strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds, strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds submersed in Riemannian manifolds. We establish some Levitin–Parnovski-type inequalities and Cheng–Huang–Wei-type inequalities for their eigenvalues. As their applications, we derive some results for the standard CR sphere $$\mathbb{S}^{2n+1}$$ in $$\mathbb{C}^{n+1}$$ , the Heisenberg group $$\mathbb{H}^n$$ , a strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold submersed in a minimal submanifold in $$\mathbb{R}^m$$ , domains of the standard sphere $$\mathbb{S}^{2n}$$ and the projective space $$\mathbb{F}P^m$$ .

Abstract:Let M n be an n-dimensional complete noncompact oriented submanifold with finite total curvature, i.e., ${\int_M(|A|^2-n|H|^2)^{\frac n2} < \infty}$, in an (n + p)-dimensional simply connected space form N n+p(c) of constant curvature c, where |H| and |A|2 are the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form of M, respectively. We prove that if M satisfies one of the following: (i) n ≥ 3, c = 0 and ${\int_M|H|^n < \infty}$; (ii) n ≥ 5, c = −1 and ${|H| < 1-\frac{2}{\sqrt n}}$; (iii) n ≥ 3, c = 1 and |H| is bounded, then the dimension of the space of L 2 harmonic 1-forms on M is finite. Moreover, in the case of (i) or (ii), M must have finitely many ends.

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional submanifold in the simply connected space form F n+p (c) with c + H 2 > 0, where H is the mean curvature of M. We verify that if M n (n ≥ 3) is an oriented compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature and its Ricci curvature satisfies Ric M ≥ (n − 2)(c + H 2), then M is either a totally umbilic sphere, a Clifford hypersurface in an (n + 1)-sphere with n = even, or ${\mathbb{C}P^{2} \left(\frac{4}{3}(c + H^{2})\right) {\rm in} S^{7} \left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{c + H^{2}}}\right)}$. In particular, if Ric M > (n − 2)(c + H 2), then M is a totally umbilic sphere. We then prove that if M n (n ≥ 4) is a compact submanifold in F n+p (c) with c ≥ 0, and if Ric M > (n − 2)(c + H 2), then M is homeomorphic to a sphere. It should be emphasized that our pinching conditions above are sharp. Finally, we obtain a differentiable sphere theorem for submanifolds with positive Ricci curvature.

Abstract:Let $(E,\F,\mu)$ be a $\si$-finite measure space. For a non-negative symmetric measure $J(\d x, \d y):=J(x,y) \,\mu(\d x)\,\mu(\d y)$ on $E\times E,$ consider the quadratic form $$\E(f,f):= \frac{1}{2}\int_{E\times E} (f(x)-f(y))^2 \, J(\d x,\d y)$$ in $L^2(\mu)$. We characterize the relationship between the isoperimetric inequality and the super Poincar\'e inequality associated with $\E$. In particular, sharp Orlicz-Sobolev type and Poincar\'e type isoperimetric inequalities are derived for stable-like Dirichlet forms on $\R^n$, which include the existing fractional isoperimetric inequality as a special example.

Willmore functional of ${\phi}$ is ${W(\phi) = \int_{M}(S - nH^{2})^{n/2}dv}$ , where ${S = \sum_{\alpha,i, j}(h^{\alpha}_{ij} )^2}$ is the square of the length of the second fundamental form, H is the mean curvature of M. The Weyl functional of (M, g) is ${\nu(g) = \int_{M}|W_{g}|^{n/2}dv}$ , where ${|W_{g}|^{2} = \sum_{i, j,k,l} W^{2}_{ijkl}}$ and W ijkl are the components of the Weyl curvature tensor W g of (M, g). In this paper, we discover an inequality relation between Willmore functional ${W(\phi)}$ and Weyl funtional ν(g).

Abstract: Let $F^{n+p}(c)$ be an $(n+p)$-dimensional simply connected space form with nonnegative constant curvature $c$. We prove that if $M^n(n\geq4)$ is a compact submanifold in $F^{n+p}(c)$, and if $Ric_M>(n-2)(c+H^2),$ where $H$ is the mean curvature of $M$, then $M$ is homeomorphic to a sphere. We also show that the pinching condition above is sharp. Moreover, we obtain a new differentiable sphere theorem for submanifolds with positive Ricci curvature.

Abstract:Let M-n (n >= 3) be an n-dimensional complete noncompact oriented submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional Euclidean space Rn+p with finite total mean curvature, i.e, integral(M) vertical bar H vertical bar(n) < infinity, where H is the mean curvature vector of M. Then we prove that each end of M must be non-parabolic. Denote by phi the traceless second fundamental form of M. We also prove that if integral(M) vertical bar phi vertical bar(n) < C(n), where C(n) is an an explicit positive constant, then there are no nontrivial L-2 harmonic 1-forms on M and the first de Rham's cohomology group with compact support of M is trivial. As corollaries, such a submanifold has only one end. This implies that such a minimal submanifold is plane.
