Abstract:The “dual-carbon” strategy was first written into China's “Government Work Report” in 2021, bringing green low-carbon development and green innovation to an unprecedented height. At the financial policy level, the Chinese government actively promotes the development of a green financial system represented by green bonds, green insurance, science and technology insurance, and green credit. Existing literature studies on green insurance and science and technology insurance mainly focus on the relevant legal system, the impact on corporate and risk management system, insurance types and service models, subsidy policies, and the problems and challenges they face. However, existing studies have studied the impact of green insurance and science and technology insurance on corporate' green innovation. In particular, the impact of their interaction on corporate' green innovation is rarely mentioned. From the perspective of green insurance and science and technology insurance to promote corporate' green innovation, based on the data sample of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2014 to 2015, this paper comprehensively investigated and analyzed the impact of green insurance and science and technology insurance on corporate' green innovation, and analyzed the interaction effect of the two. The research perspective of enterprise green innovation is expanded. The analysis conclusion of this paper provides new ideas and empirical evidence for Chinese corporate to realize faster and more efficient green transformation, which is conducive to stimulating the vitality of enterprise green innovation and development.

Abstract:Carrying out green insurance investment is of great significance for improving the green financial service system, expanding the investment space for insurance funds, improving the ability of insurance fund service ecological environment construction, and promoting the transformation of China’s economy towards a green and low-carbon sustainable development. In recent years, China’s green finance has made great progress, but its scale is only a drop in the ocean compared with the huge demand for green investment. In particular, the scale and influence of green insurance investment is small, and the role played by it is not obvious. In terms of the system, top-level design and promotion are not sufficient, and the insurance asset management institutions are less active and innovative. Therefore, it is recommended to start from the institutional innovation of green insurance investment, strengthen policy promotion and build an efficient examination and approval registration and inspection and assessment system. Also, giving full play to the role of industry infrastructure, improving the liquidity of green insurance investment projects, effectively stimulating the internal motivation of insurance institutions will promote the steady development of China’s green insurance investment.

Abstract:This study delves into the transformative impact of green technological innovation within China's insurance industry, examining its role in enhancing competitiveness and promoting sustainability. The global insurance landscape is increasingly shaped by climate-related risks, necessitating the adoption of advanced technological solutions. Leveraging comprehensive thematic analysis of qualitative data from interviews and document analysis, this research uncovers the multifaceted benefits that green technological innovation provides to insurers. Interviews with key stakeholders, including top-level executives and sustainability officers, reveal that these innovations reduce operational costs, attract environmentally conscious customers, and enhance resilience to climate-related challenges. Moreover, the regulatory environment, as indicated by previous studies, plays a pivotal role in incentivizing insurers to invest in green technologies. These findings align with China's broader commitment to sustainability, positioning insurance companies as financial intermediaries actively contributing to green projects and the nation's transition to a low-carbon economy. Ultimately, this study underscores how green technological innovation empowers China's insurance sector to navigate a rapidly changing landscape, enhance competitiveness, and advance sustainability goals, while reinforcing insurers' societal relevance and trustworthiness.

Abstract:In 1980, the insurance industry in China was revived after twenty years of stagnation when economic system reform and opening up began in China. During the past two decades, the insurance industry has developed from a virtually nonexistent, minimal, and closed industry to a large, open industry with potential promise. The volume of insurance premiums grew rapidly from RMB 0.46 billion in 1980 to RMB 388 billion in 2003,230 ranking China eleventh in the world with 1.6 percent of the global market share (China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC); Swiss Re 2004, p. 35).231 This fast growing economy coupled with the largest population in the world, rising personal income, and economic system reform could not only explain the rapid growth of China’s insurance industry, but also foretell the increasing importance of China’s insurance market in the future.

Abstract:The paper proposed six major strategies of the insurance industry for its further opening-up in the next decade at three execution phases according to the vein of thought of opening-up,mutual benefit and going along with the times and by borrowing from international experiences and taking into account China′s specific conditions.The six strategies were: the shareholding structure strategy,the business entry strategy,the balanced regional development strategy for foreign-invested insurers,the balanced development strategy for foreign insurer supply structure,the "going global" strategy,and the coordinated opening-up strategy for the financial industry.The opening-up of the insurance industry was a task of immense magnitude and great complexity,which required mutual efforts of the academic society,the industry and the regulator to jointly study it in the spirit of prudence and innovation.The paper offered some strategic thinking in this topic.Hopefully,this would provide some food for thought for decision-makings on further opening-up and getting acclimated to the international environment of the insurance industry amid the macro-backdrop of China′s reform and opening-up.

Abstract:The subject of this research is the trend in development of the insurance market of China in the context of digitalization of modern financial and economic sectors. China's insurance market is quite large and promising in comparison with the markets of other countries. The listed factors define the relevance of studying its development and key trends. A synoptic analysis is conducted on the situation in China’s insurance market, including its evolution, structure, and primary market indicators, status of the leading market actors, impact of digitalization on the market, and future trend. The novelty of this work consists in a new perspective upon evolution and current state of the insurance market of China, as well as in generalization of digital development and future trends. The conclusion is made that digital technologies presented by big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc., brought profound changes to the image of China's insurance industry, as well as became a new driving force for the development of an entire sector. The wave of digitalization in financial and economic sphere would contribute to the development of insurance sector, create and broaden new demands in risk management, as well as provide technical support that turns challenges into opportunities for the insurance industry. Despite the fact that over the recent years China's insurance sector has faced multiple challenges, it demonstrates the long-term development prospects.

Abstract:From a historical perspective,this article discussed and compared the causes,characteristics and impacts of vari- ous evolution patterns of financial comprehensive operation systems in different countries.It also analyzed China's experimen- tation with financial comprehensive operation,and then drew the conclusion that it was very important for China's insurance companies to embark on comprehensive operation and build up a holding company structure.Comprehensive operation among financial industry is an inevitable trend,therefore,Chinese insurers should grasp the historical opportunity to further their development in this direction.However,we should also be aware that the purpose of comprehensive operation is to enlarge scale of economy and scope of economy and achieve a synergy effect.Insurance companies should set their development goals and patterns of comprehensive operation according to their own characteristics and not blindly follow the others.Moreover, Chinese government should encourage innovation and conceptual change and be supportive towards comprehensive operation to ensure sound development of the insurance industry.

Abstract:<p>Fishery insurance has been recognized as a common tool of fisheries management in loss compensation and poverty alleviation for fishery. This article tracked the historical account of China's fishery insurance since 1982. Generally, the China's fishery insurance program has evolved through three stages: commercial fishery insurance (before 1994), fishery mutual insurance (1994–2008) and policy fishery insurance (2008-present). For decades, the focuses of the policies have been found to shift from expanding market quota and supplying traditional items to realizing sustainable development of fishery resources and offering better services. Several deficiencies have been observed in the regulation system and insurance subsidy policies, so many challenges remain for its formulation and implementation in the future. This paper suggests the following improvement strategies: reforming the fishery insurance legal system, refining the subsidy structure, expanding financing channels, designing innovative products, building a professional talent team and improving insurance publicity.</p>

This crisis may lead to dampening of market confidence on the insurance industry and doubled pressure on investment and slowing down of premium growth. Therefore, China′s insurance industry should be fully aware of advantages and disadvantages of opening-up, investment channel widening, innovation and business diversification. We should continue to promote reform and development of the insurance industry on condition of better risk control and ensured security of the market.

Abstract:In recent years, China's insurance industry has maintained steady development. As the pillar of social security, it plays a key role in protecting the economy and benefiting the people. At the same time, the development of China's insurance industry is in good shape. The development speed is gradually increasing, the development level is also constantly improving, and the service fields and business types are gradually enriched. The continuous innovation of insurance products and the continuous transformation of business concepts have provided strong support for China's economic and social development. This article first reviews the development history of China's insurance industry and conducts an in-depth analysis of the following four problems: backward horizontal development, improper market supervision, low product innovation, and irregular personnel levels. Secondly, corresponding countermeasures are provided for each problem. The problems and countermeasures studied in this article may promote the development of China's insurance industry.
