The efficacy and safety of plasma electro-prostatectomy system in the treatment of rectal cicatricial stenosis and anterior sacral abscess

Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of plasma electro-prostatectomy system in the treatment of rectal cicatricial stenosis and anastomotic fistula.Methods 27 cases of rectal cicatricial stenosis and anterior sacral abscess in our hospital from 2008 to 2013 were selected in the study,and divided into three groups,group A (10 cases):anastomotic stenosis after colorectal cancer surgery,or complicating by anastomotic fistula,abscess beside the anastomotic stoma,anterior sacral abscess which were basically controlled,group B (10 cases):anastomotic stenosis after colorectal cancer surgery complicating by anastomotic fistula,abscess beside the anastomotic stoma,anterior sacral abscess which were not well controlled,group C (7 cases):rectostenosis without colorectal cancer.Patients with anastomotic annular cicatricial stricture underwent anastomotic scar stricture resection by plasma electro-prostatectomy system to expand the enteric cavity and relieve the obstruction;patients with anastomotic fistula,abscess beside the anastomotic stoma,anterior sacral abscess underwent plasma electro-prostatectomy to excise the necrotic tissue of orificium fistulae and fistula,open the fistula fully,strengthen the drainage.The operation successful rate,operation time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative satisfaction,clinical excellent and good rate,postoperative adverse reactions among three groups were analyzed.Results The successful rate of the operation was 100.0％ in 27 patients,the average operation time was (51.3±5.6) min,the average blood loss was (53.0±5.3) ml,and the postoperative satisfaction was 96.3％,there were no statistically significant differences in the operation successful rate,operation time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative satisfaction,clinical excellent and good rate 3,6,9,12 months after operation among three groups (P＞0.05).There were no postoperative bleeding,rectal perforation,septic shock,and other serious complications in three groups.Conclusion Plasma electro-prostatectomy system in the treatment of rectal cicatricial stenosis is effective and safe,worthy of clinical popularization and application.
