The Reform on Computer Education by Studying the Development of Computer Technology

Abstract:The computer technology has been developing rapidly in the recent ten years. Multi-elements, including network, multi-media, and intelligence are the main directions of computer development. The rapidness, and the multi-element development of computer technology gave an impulse to computer education, however, it also caused many problems. In this paper, the characteristics of computer development are analyzed. Aiming at the questions that exist in the computer professional education at present, such as theoretical foundation weakness, theory divorced from reality, lack of feature, etc., some suggestions are proposed for the reform of computer education. The reform includes the viewpoints of strengthening the basic theory to improve the continual study ability, of paying attention to the education of students with a composite ability to improve the engineering design ability, of widening and deepening the education of core technology, and of following computer development closely and upgrading the content of courses in time.
