Analysis on Death from Accidental Injuries of Residents in Yangpu District in 1996～ 2001

Abstract:Objective] To understand the effect of health promotion to the death rate of accidental injury and to know the focal content of health promotion to prevent accidental injuries. [Methods] By analyzing the change of death rate from accidental injury of residents in Yangpu district in 1996～2001. [Results] The death rates from accidental injury from 1996 to 1998 was 48.88/100000, 51.83/100000 and 55.35/100000 respectively. The rates decreased gradually from 1999 to 2001, as was 48.11/100000, 39.66/100000 and 27.45/100000 respectively. The leading causes of death from accidental injuries were accidental fall, traffic accident and suicide. The composition of the death rate from accidental injuries were different in different ages and different vocations. [Conclusion] The death rate from accidental injuries were lowered to certain degree by health promotion. The focus of prevention of accidental injuries are accidental fall, traffic accident and suicide.
