Abstract:CADAL has been a large-scale non-profit digital library. Besides various search facilities in the CADAL portal, we designed and implemented the iCADAL system for providing the user-oriented micro-content services on one million books in CADAL. Users of iCADAL can receive the stream of short messages of lending, annotation and the other reading activities shared by their followees in a twitter-like way, which combines socialization with personalization. Our implementation makes extensive use of open source softwares, i.e. Pylons, Cassandra, in order to support the high-traffic online micro-content services.

Abstract:Based on the investigation and study on content management systems home and abroad,Tsinghua university library adopted the Web Content Collaboration Management of Tsinghua Tongfang Knowledge Network to develop the English version of Tsinghua university library website.Flexible setting of various templates,role based workflow,seamless integration of various library application systems and union search platform were achieved,and a new website building mode was attempted.Several essentials in Tsinghua University Library website construction were described in detail.

Abstract:Campus portal website aims to integrate distributed system information on campus and provide a portal for personal information center. However, in the open campus network, information sharing and gaining are not confined in the campus. The paper discusses the extension and integration of campus portal website and the convenience of the user. Through the technology of ASP.NET, AJAX, LINQ to SQL and Workflow Foundation in. NET Framework, we can construct highly interactive campus portal of rich and visual interfaces. Meanwhile, with the concept of Web 2.0, the integration of personal information in open campus portal may realize through external third-party access to resources, creating an all-round campus information platform belonging to the user's own.

Abstract:A book cover service in a Mashup mode on the OPAC has been designed and developed in Tsinghua University Library.When patrons access in OPAC,book covers will be displayed in the result pages seamlessly,so patrons can use them intuitionisticly.This article introduces the design and implementation of this book cover data source server,puts emphasis on the design ideas of the outside book cover data source,the method on building this data source by Servlet technology and how to connect the server with the library management system.

Abstract:To promote the ordering of parts classification and correlation in Web-based parts library,methods and technologies of Web 2.0 were introduced into Web-based parts library.Firstly,the difference between Web 2.0-based parts library and Web 1.0-based parts library was analyzed,and the key technologies involving in Web 2.0-based parts library were summarized.Secondly,the framework of Web 2.0-based parts library was presented.Around this framework,the application technologies of Web 2.0 technology in parts library were studied,furthermore,combining Web 2.0-based self-organizing model,parts library's self-organizing technology and tag ontology construction and maintenance's self-organizing technology were studied.Finally,the prototype of Web 2.0-based parts library management system was developed to provide a novel way for promoting the popularization of parts library's construction,maintenance,use and the ordering of resources in parts library.
