Progress of the Studies on Virus-free Fruit Trees in China

Abstract:Viral diseases have posed a serious threat to the production of fruit trees in the world. Every country is placing emphasis on the research and prevention of viral diseases. In China, the progress not only in the studies of detection of virus and antiviral gene engineering but also in studies of growing and fruiting properties or physiological and biochemical characters is very fast. In this paper, the domestic advances and achievements in these research areas in the past several years were summarized, and the problems in this field were also discussed.
